I'm the plug for this place. Every and any person who asks for a spa/skin care clinic will hear me open my mouth to say YS Canadian Laser Spa. The work they do here is pure magic. At an affordable rate too? Y'all are getting RIPPED off going elsewhere. I get RF microneedling because I struggled with acne scars for YEARS (we go way back to 2016!!) - I pay $150 or a bit more?? (inflation can kiss my azz) but it's worth every penny. My confidence has sky rocketed ever since I stepped foot into this place - Aug 2021 - TODAY. I can't talk about other procedures but my sister does IPL (intense pulse light) and she loves it there too. I first started with a groupon and now I have to continue! The place is conveniently located next to a subway entrance at the Bedford entrance of Lawrence station. Quaint neighbourhood, the inside is clean, cozy and always a faint floral scent.. I was warned of the risks to laser and explained to get my consent. Every technician I've had is very gentle, sweet, friendly and professional. The gel can be chilly when applied to skin and we always laugh about it, they are always aware of the clients condition, I had a big bruise during one session and she made sure to be gentle on that part. I was looking for a place to do my laser hair removal (for legs and bikini) in Toronto and was a bit overwhelmed by all of the options available... there must be at least 500 different spas/salons who offer laser in this city. I saw a deal for Ys Canadian Laser Spa on Groupon, and looked at he reviews on Groupon/Facebook/Google Maps/Yelp/etc. At first, I could barely believe it... almost every review was a 5-star review, I thought there was something fishy about this place or that most of the reviews were fake! But I read the reviews and who can see they are from real people, not people with a weird username, no photo and only one review. I'm only half-way through my treatments (will update my review once I'm done!), but so far I'm really satisfied with the clinic and happy with the results! I've done 3 treatments on my bikini and 2 on my legs, and I see a big diminution in the amount and strength of my hair. The prices are very reasonable (much cheaper than most other places who do laser in Toronto), girls working here are friendly and professional and made me feel comfortable during the treatments, the place is convenient for me (literally a 20 seconds walk from the Lawrence TTC station, so not too far from downtown), etc. Something else I *REALLY* like about this place is that they do not try to oversell you treatments in a pushy way. For instance, when I first went to do a bikini laser hair removal treatment, they did not try to sell my other treatments for different regions. That's a big, positive point for me because I always feel very uncomfortable whenever I go to a clinic/salon and they try to sell you a bunch of add-ons or other treatments. I really appreciated that and went ahead and added the laser hair removal treatments for my legs myself. The salon isn't super fancy (rooms are a bit small, doesn't look like something taken out of fancy magazine, etc.) but it's comfortable/feels homey, and is accordingly - which I prefer over an overpriced place that is Instagram-material. Also - I guess that depends on each person and your pain tolerance, but I personally do not find the laser hair removal treatments painful. It tickles a little bit (I always laugh while they do it!), and it's not a pleasant sensation, but it's not painful either. The only one thing that could stand to be improved is communication - I one time tried emailing them (at the email listed on their website) to take an appointment, and i did not get a response back. Not really a big deal, I ended up booking the appointment over the phone and it was very easy to do, but a bit surprising in 2019. Did laser hair removal for my face a couple of years ago.. no long last results AT ALL. All the facial hair is back, I kept warning them that my hair is not dark so please use the correct laser. Regardless of that, the tech burned my cheek near my eye and my jaw line. Took 2-3 months before the scars left and the owner, Yulia was VERY unhelpful and of course there's no refund for the session for their error. She said I could drive to the location and they'll give me burn cream.... yeah sure, I'll drive 30 min so a little bit of cream on my face. Not a good experience. read more

When I pay for a service as such, I expect both good results and friendly staff. Luckily, YS clinic provides me with both! I have done three different kinds of laser hair removal with them and the results are amazing. Their price is very reasonable and affordable compared to others. On top of that, I love all of the staff there. Yuliya, Anne and Nadia and everyone else that I have met have been nothing but kind and helpful. They all truly care about their clients, which I think is very important in a business. The spa is also very cute and cozy! Very well decorated and situated. This place is one of Toronto's best-kept, immaculately clean medi-spa secrets. I happened to find an IPL Groupon featuring YS Canadian Laser services. The reviews were all five stars, so I decided to go for it. I've now seen Yuliya for microdermabrasion and IPL and I will never go anywhere else. My skin a brighter and clearer than it's ever been. She is a pro in every sense -- so intelligent, experienced and passionate about what she does. Not to mention, Yuliya is honest and totally not in it for the up-sell. This is probably the best (most homey?)laser (and medical) clinic ever. I had an appointment to remove a couple of skin tags I had. I called about a week ahead and scheduled an appointment (they were pretty booked as I wanted a Saturday). The place is located on a second floor above a restaurant and is super clean and quiet. There's plenty of parking on the street nearby and they also have a couple of spot at the back of the building. I was greeted and given the forms to sign and offered drinks and snacks (yum!). The appointment was very fast and there lady who was working on me (Yulia) was super nice and attentive and tried to make me comfortable as much as she could. I paid $20 (SUPER cheap as other places quoted me $100 and up) to have a couple of skin tags removed. They offer other services as well (Botox, fillers, laser hair removal and stuff) and the prices are good too. I have been going to Yulia for a laser hair removal for my bikini area and have completed 4/6 sessions so far. I have seen results with each visit, which I didn't have when I went elsewhere for my underarm hair. I wish I went to her first! YS Canadian Laser Spa is wonderful. Yuliya is so welcoming and professional with her clients. She makes you feel very comfortable and at ease (especially when you're so exposed!). I've been going to see Yuliya since she opened and even though I've moved out of her neighbourhood, I'm continuing to make the trek uptown to see her because she's so worth it. The reviews of this place are overwhelmingly positive- I'd like to leave an honest review about my long-term results. I did the 6-session package for my arms (hands to elbow) beginning in September 2019. Several sessions in, the hair basically disappeared so I booked my full legs with them too hastily. After completing 6 sessions for my arms, just about a month later I saw my hair returning in patches, and in just about 1.5 months later all the hair on my arms returned. I regretted starting treatment on my legs but had already paid and had to complete them. I raised these concerns with the employee about this during one of my leg sessions and she said nothing could be done and that I would have to book more sessions for my arms to see results. This was clearly an absurd suggestion as it does not make sense to spend hundreds of dollars more after seeing no results for my arms after 6 sessions. I was trying to negotiate something but it was clear they just wanted me to purchase more, which I was not going to do. Also these sessions were very painful for me except when Nadia would do it (I don't know why, I suspect she kept the machine at a lower setting). That being said, I did have better results with my legs, and saw about a 30% reduction in hair and my hairs are thinner, even despite having a 3 month gap in between sessions due to COVID. I completed my leg sessions in September 2020. Unfortunately, they burned my knee and ankle on my last session, immediately after the technician said that she put a lot of gel on the area and that nothing would happen. I trusted her judgement despite me being in a lot of pain when she was lasering my knee. While they are small burns, there is still scarring in those places. While the staff is very friendly and welcoming and the place is clean and aesthetically pleasing, those things become irrelevant when their services are subpar. I am not returning and will look for better and safer laser services elsewhere. read more

Absolutely the best decision I ever made in my life with respect to treatments! I first came on a groupon and also with a friends recommendation- so happy that I did! I did underarms, legs and now adding Brazilian, laser hair removal. I got some skin tags removed as well, what a relief! So simple and easy, heals and go aways! The place is clean, smells great and most importantly the owner and her aestheticians are amaZing, knowledgeable and will tell you the truth about what treatments to get. Let me start by saying that I'm used to paying $30-$40 for Brazilian laser hair removal sessions (often with $10 add ons underarms or anus) so when I got back to Canada from Australia and was quoted $170 per session I was like "wait I'm sorry what the actual duck?" - and yes I auto corrected on purpose for all your pretty little eyes. Then I found YS on Groupon which works out to around $40 for a medium area session ($200-$220 for the Groupon then tax is paid at the salon). Even without the Groupon, their prices are very reasonable and it's right by Lawrence train station so it's pretty convenient. Yuliya is super sweet and you immediately feel comfortable with her even though she's about to put a machine into your bits and pieces. She includes the anus with the Brazilian which is another bonus...am I allowed to say anus this many times in a review? The salon itself has a boutique feel to it, it's not like something you'd find at a 5 Star hotel or anything but it's comfortable and priced accordingly. I've only had one session but her machines seem good. It hurt a little more than Australia but only while it was happening, there's no pain after. read more

I I purchased 6-session packages for laser hair removal on three body areas. I would really like to give this spa a better review, as it is clean and comfortable and the people are really lovely. Also, while the sessions were ongoing they seemed to be working somewhat. However, I just did not get the results I was promised. I ended up doing 8 sessions total; by the end these were on a very high setting (super painful, supposedly to make sure it would last). I was then told to wait 7 weeks and see, hopefully it would be all or mostly gone and I would only need an annual touch up. Yuliya was clear that I should not have to keep coming back. It has now been more than 8 weeks and the outcome has not been good. Now that I am not going regularly, the hair has come back to almost exactly the same as before in two areas. In the third area there are a couple of totally hairless spots, but they are surrounded by about 80-90% as much hair as was there to begin with (definitely not ideal). So, sadly, I would not recommend laser hair removal here. read more

I originally left a highly favourable review, however, I suggest you are not tempted by the low prices and do not attend here (I thought it was safe because of the promising reviews). I paid for laser hair removal sessions which were provided at an incorrect setting that did not work for me. Not to mention they severely burned my skin with this setting 4x (you'd think the first time was indication that the setting was wrong). I was offered a resolution which was to replace the sessions at a new setting that was working. Yuliya decided to retract this resolution despite written confirmation by her employee and verbal confirmation from herself. On the same day (prior to retraction of the above) I went for a Schrammek classic green peel facial. This facial has specific guidelines and steps, most of which were ignored by the employee who had not been trained correctly by Yuliya. I was advised that I do not need any post-peel products to use at home and to wash my face with water only. I then consulted the official website and the official representatives of the product in Canada, only to discover that post-peel products are absolutely necessary for skin rejuvenation and healing, and that you do NOT wash your face with water for 5 days. I was also using face products that are contraindicated in the peel that the staff chose to ignore - they did not perform a consultation. Because I contacted the official representatives for clarity, who then contacted Yuliya (she fabricated her side, even though I have email evidence from her to state the contrary), and this offended her, she retracted her duty to provide me with the facial follow up that is necessary and cancelled my booking. The lying, false advertising, retracting on verbal and written agreements is absolutely beyond me. read more
