One of the gift brands was Jim Shore, Heartwood Creek line, which was chiseled looking wood carvings. Wizard of Oz figurines made by the Warner Brothers and Turner Company adorned shelves as well. If you know someone who is a fan of the Wizard of Oz and loves collectibles, this is a place you can actually find them a gift. Like Hallmark stores they also had tons of ornaments for sale, some of which were Jim Shore. And of course, one cannot seemingly go into a gift shop in Columbus without there being college football gear. Whether you're an Ohio State fan or a Michigan fan, there were gifts for you. Greeting cards were in ample supply. I was happy to see that many of the card companies they carried were made in the USA, including the Lang Company. My son and I were here happened upon this shop when we planned on going to Learning Express but they were unexpectedly closed for water damage. Judy, who was working was so kind and sweet, showed up her artwork and we ended up picking up some adorable OSU bibs with ties for my twin nephews. I've always favored Hallmark cards but as the selection here gets thinner and thinner, I'm tempted to start shopping for non-Hallmark cards at the grocery store. In fact, I think the grocery store may actually have a better, more extensive selection of cards than this Hallmark shop. The shop was downsized several years ago but more and more of the remaining space is being devoted to clothing (yes, clothing), purses, knickknacks, and geegaws. This may have been my last visit to Keren's Hallmark - I guess I'm no longer part of their target demographic (i.e. card shoppers).
