A couple of years ago I had Pure PWR Pools install a solar pool heating system, and I wrote a 5-star review. They did a great job and it has worked well. The company that manufactured (and guaranteed) the rooftop modules, Fafco, went out of business last November. My warranty was with Pure PWR and not Fafco, so I wasn't worried about being left in the lurch. A couple of weeks ago one of the Fafco panels sprung a leak, and I called Pure PWR to deal with it. They sent out a repairman who fixed the problem without needing to replace the damaged panel. Pure PWR didn't charge me a penny for this, because they were honoring their warranty. I'm updating my review here to say how impressed I am with how well they honored their warranty even though the deck was stacked against them. They could have waved their hands and mumbled something about how it wasn't their fault -- which it wasn't -- but that's not what they did. They honored the warranty, fixed the problem, and didn't charge me anything. Yay for Pure PWR Pools. read more

I have used Pure PWR pools on and off for different things over the past maybe10 years? They are who I call first when I have a pool problem to see if it's something the do. I call them first because I have total trust in them as competent and honest. It feels so good to know you can call someone who will not try to upsell and literally try to find the option that saves the customer money. Many businesses just want to make the maximum profit when actually working in the customers best interest is what brings the customer bank and gets them referrals. The staff at Pure PWR pools is amazing, My moms roof had be replaced & her existing solar panel needed to be replaced. We called Angie at Pure PWR pools for an estimate. We met Danny which was great, very knowledgeable & quick to show us a few options. They spent lots of time going over the layout of the new panels & piping and they made sure that there was plenty of room for the electric solar panels to be reinstalled with the limited room on the roof. The day of installation went really smooth & no hiccups, they also added a check valve & sensors. Yesterday they came out to install a new controller, they spent extra time with my mom & I to locate it in a spot where we get access to it & went over the instructions, The new unit is really nice, works with our existing setup. Pure PWR Pools are great, they worked hand and hand with my pool/solar modernization project. They designed a modernized and upgraded pool system with the latest Pentair control panel and a IntelliBrite Architectural Multi-Color Pool Light. They then tied everything together by adding the ScreenLogic-2 WiFi control system interface phone app. This app is incredibly easy to use and intuitive, it saves money by allowing us to select lower or higher speed as needed. It also controls multiple features and devices all from my phone. Best thing is there is no more bending over your control panel box trying to figure out what button to push. Pure PWR Pools is a honest and professional company, everyone on their team were highly knowledgeable, personal and polite. I have recommended them to several of my friends. I have had my system since September 21 and I must say it was one of the best investments I put towards my pool. Within a week I got my pool up to the mid 90s! Currently this spring my pool temps are in the low to mid 80s as I let my pool system regulate to those temps. 90s was just to hot :) As far as initial quote, customer service and installation, all was fantastic. Had multiple vendors come to our home to create quotes for solar pool heating. 4 vendors came and only pure per offered a no drill and sleek solution for solar pool heating. After watching my neighbors have their roof repaired 2 times in the last year due to leaks from roof installation I chose to go with the no drill install of solar heating panels. Danny came to the house and discussed the plan, installation process and how the system ties in to the pool. I ran into an issue with the pool pump during the planning process and Danny quickly found a solution (completely unrelated to the proposed solar install) . Angie in the office was courteous and prompt in all communication. The contract process was simple and completed online. The install took two days and I was well informed of the arrival time of the crew. The crew working was friendly and communicated everything they were doing. Install completed without issue and the crew left no trace they were there except the new solar system. I can not speak to how well it works as it is winter and currently raining but I am sure that it's performance will be sufficient to get this pool and spa ready for swimming. Pricing was inline with other installers but I received approx 50 sq ft more coverage at the same cost as competitors and they are hardly noticeable from the street. read more

Really great mom and pop shop doing fantastic pool solar heat installations. After interviewing three companies, I finally decided to go with Pure PWR. Danielle was prompt getting back to me to schedule something and answer questions along the way. Gabe came out and gave a no pressure sales pitch about his product and how it's installed. This is really what sold me. The panels they install are not panels at all. Instead, they are strips that can work around PV installs and form to the spanish tiles I have on my roof. There is also NO roof penetrations so you don't have to ever worry about leaks! Within 3 weeks (1 week delay due to my HOA), Gabe had his crew out to do the install. They made quick work of it and finished ahead of schedule. Danny did an impressive job running pipes the first day and matching them to our stucco. Dustan and Jason finished up the job the second day and were extremely pleasant to work with. The ran me through how to set the controller and answered any questions I had. After just a day and half with 70 degree temps we went from 74 to 83 degrees...perfect pool temperature! I paid only a few hundred dollars more than their big box competitors and feel I have a superior product installed by a really professional team top to bottom. Very happy with the team at Pure PWR Pools. They installed a difficult 13-panel solar heating system on my north-facing slope; thus the panels had to have a "reverse tilt" towards the south. They also made adjustments to the rack-positioning already underway, so as to satisfy HOA concerns that came up during construction. A text message always pre-announced their arrival, and communication with the back-office was prompt and friendly. Everyone was very knowledgeable and skilled, and full clean-up afterwards. As a part of the ongoing improvements to our home in the Singing Hills area east of El Cajon, my wife and I decided to buy a solar pool heating system using the Ygrene funding option. I did lots of research here on Yelp, and narrowed my options down to about 5 companies. Though they weren't the lowest bidder (one was lower, and the rest were higher), I was most impressed with Gabriel and Pure PWR. I decided to go with them and was put on their schedule. We have a pretty big pool so our system is pretty large. The guys came out and had the solar panels and new variable speed pump and plumbing installed and working within two days. Gabriel came out a day later and he installed the chlorinator and new Screenlogic control panel and all the wiring. After everything was done, Gabriel walked me through all the controls, and he helped me download the Pentair apps to our iPhones and my desktop computer. Everything works perfectly, and my wife and I are VERY happy with the work Pure PWR did for us. As I type this, our pool is running 87 degrees -- a vast improvement from the low-70s right before the solar panels were installed -- and our spa hit 100 yesterday right before it kicked off at 6pm -- all using just the heat from our new solar panels. Contracted with Pure PWR Pools in July '22 and had the install about Q4 '22. Why I am writing this review is, like most things, it did not go perfect at install, however, what impressed me is their after sales support. In this economy, most get the sale and move on. Pure Power had a couple of issues with my install in my opinion. I am a pool professional and work for one of the largest pool equipment manufactures in the world... so I know my pool stuff. Pure PWR worked with me on my issues and eventually solved all my concerns. A few hours after the install, I was curious to see how hot I could get our spa. I kicked on the system from our iphone, and set the temp to 100 degrees. The spa heated to 102 within the hour. Wow! Danielle and Gabriel are amazing! I have a really long and drawn out story that I was going to share, but as I was typing it, I got bored myself. So, here is the short version... I went with another company originally and they did a horrible job! They left pipes leaking on my roof and didn't even place everything in the correct spot; and they over charged me. Danielle got a call from the company that (at the time) was about to install my solar electric, and she learned what I had gone through. Danielle and Gabriel immediately dispatched their crew to my home to remove the panels so that I would not be delayed in having my solar electric installed. After the solar electric was done, they rushed my job and got the thermal panels back on my roof just before the Labor Day holiday... which based on their schedule seemed impossible. They truly care about their clients... they were extremely generous with me knowing what I had already spent and gone through with the other company and went above and beyond what was expected. I am incredibly grateful for all they did for me and my family and I hope that some day I can repay them (beyond money). Gabriel and the team just installed pool solar for our new pool. Hailey was my contact in the office and she was a pleasure to work with. Very responsive and understanding and treated me the way I expect to be treated, with kindness. Gabriel came out and provided a thorough analysis and quote for the solar and was a very knowledgeable and kind guy. Andrew and Robert were our installers, and they did a fantastic job. They were very careful with our roof, took the time to ask us how we would like the pipes routed, and painted everything to blend in very well. They spent time walking me through the programming they did to the pool controller so I understood how to operate the system in the future. It took about 2 full days to do the install. I like working with local, family-owned businesses, and this is a really good one. I believe they do warranty work for Pentair systems, which we have, so if the need arises, we will be using them for that work as well. read more
