Came in yesterday to get my eyebrows done. The woman rushed through them, and my skin was terribly painful all day. I woke up this morning to a chunk of skin missing that has now scabbed over. I'm genuinely IRATE as I was getting my eyebrows done for an event tonight and now have a horrific scab and it hurts to put makeup on the skin where my eyebrows were waxed. I do not have sensitive skin and have been getting my brows waxed and threaded for nearly 15 years. This has NEVER happened. UPDATE: I was able to get refunded but my tip was not refunded. read more

I've been going here for years. Andy does a nice job and Savanna is awesome with the Pedicure. But never again. Last Friday I made appointments for myself and my daughter in law for a full set of acrylic, a dip and two pedicures. The only tech I really didn't like was the one who came to do my pedi, so I was wary, but didn't want to cause any issues so I just went along. Almost immediately I sensed she seemed upset. She became even more upset when she was pulled away to do a wax. When she returned she began digging at my toe to the point I asked her to stop. Then did the sloppiest white paint job ever (because they couldn't find the color to match my red dip). I had bubbles peeling and paint all over my toes and cuticles when I got home. . Today I went back to asked for it to be fixed. Andy apologized and began removing the white paint. The next thing I know the same woman who did them sat down and asked what happened. Before I could answer they began speaking to each other in their language, seemingly arguing. After a few mins she began digging at my toe again and said I had an ingrown toenail. It hurt so badly, I said "you know what never mind, I don't want you working on me", and stared to put my shoes on. He came back and asked me not to leave and said he'd fix it. By now the entire salon was staring at me. She proceeded to throw a tantrum, yell and throw things. I'm absolutely stunned and embarrassed. I recently made an appointment for a full set (acrylics), I was so excited because this looked like a great place. I read some reviews beforehand, some good and some bad. I showed the lady a picture of what i wanted, just french tips and almond shape. I was not happy with the shape at all, half of my nails are crooked, and there's white polish where it shouldn't be. I paid $70 for these nails...and i have to have these on for a vacation this week. Also to note, the lady doing my nails just seemed like she did not wanna be doing my nails, and coughed on my hands the ENTIRE time. I'm so disappointed & will not be returning. read more

I wanted this place to be a 5 star so bad. The inside is beautiful and looks luxurious. The actual service was pretty good (other than cutting my cuticle to the point it bled). I got gel polish on my natural nails and gel polish on my toes. After having the nails on for ONE week, majority of the polish peeled/fell off. The pricing is not worth the quality. It was $55 for my fingers and $45 for my toes. My regular polish at home stays on waaaaay longer than this. read more

I'm disappointed that I'm updating my review. I really wanted this to be a 5-star nail salon. It definitely has the potential to be, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars rather than 1 star. I made a follow up appointment from my first visit. I'm VERY particular about making appointments - I'm punctual and I expect the business to be, too. I realize that things happen and schedules run behind, but you CAN'T accept walk-ins when you KNOW you have an appointment coming up. I arrived 10-minutes early, knowing I would have to soak my nails. I waited, and waited. Half hour later I was asked to sit at a table and they would be with me shortly to soak my nails. I politely declined and let them know that I made an appointment for a reason and I couldn't accommodate the significant delay. They apologized profusely but they'll have to figure out how to better manage the walk-in traffic vs committed appointments. I would still consider coming here if I had an early appointment but I think the later it gets in the day, the more delayed they get. They do a good job and the place is spotless. I just have NO patience for not adhering to my scheduled appointment time. read more

Would never recommend a pedi there, by far the worst I've ever had. Continued getting my nails done because I prefer dip polish and they're the closest salon that offers the service. This past week the nail tech I had my appointment with left early, I was not notified by the salon. Showed up for my appointment and was told they had no way to get in touch with me, they use your phone number to identify you as a client? Rescheduled my appointment out of desperation, went and there was zero apology from the nail tech, was completely rushed and he did a horrible job on my nails, still cleaning the polish off my skin. Completely unprofessional, there are too many other places to be treating your clients this way. Bye-bye! read more

High pricing and a very long wait to the extent that you have to basically leave and go somewhere else unless you just have hours and hours to burn sitting and waiting for people who can't even tell you how long of a wait it will be. A very basic pedicure is at least $50 here without gratuity. The facility is rather large and seems to be clean but at the end of the day you kind of need to get in and get out of a place like this within about 90 minutes or it's not worth it. This salon charges more in Northern Virginia nail salons charge so I think that's saying something right there. read more

Let me say that I have been to this salon several times and have always had a great experience, except that for some reason different workers charge you different prices for the same service. The last time I made an appointment to go in, a gentleman took care of me for a nail fill-in. My appointment took an hour because he spent much of the time stopping his work to talk to the salon-worker next to him. He had to re-do 3 of my nails after painting them because he had carelessly "made a mistake", and the polish was not applied uniformly and began chipping the day after I spent 50 dollars to get them done (including 15.00 tip). I will return to Pure nail spa, but I will request to have one of the ladies doing my nails instead, as I have never had anything but positive experiences with them. read more

The service I got was just okay, but the staff was nice so I gave it a 3-star rating.. Maybe that was partly my fault because I spoke Vietnamese to the nail ladies. I made an appointment for a full set if gelx. When I got there I was out with a man and as soon as I sat down he asked what I wanted and I told him and he rudly said "I don't do that and got up and walked away" I was then out with William, who continued to tell me how good he is and how he came from California. I told him I wanted short gelx and showed him the design I wanted. He never once asked me to wash my hands in the entire process. Never did anything with the cuticles or any part of my real nail. He applied the gelx nail and after Some painting and glitter application a woman who was in the middle of doing someone else's nails came over and rushed through doing mine. The design was awful but I felt bad for the woman who was waiting for her to come back and finish her nails. the whole experience was weird and the nails looked awful. I was able to schedule my appointment online and received a confirmation the same day. Kathy did a terrific job on my nails and my pedicure. I highly recommend pure nails for their services. I am dissatisfied with customer service here for the second time. Today I had someone new. He was outside smoking when I pulled up in my convertible and he asked me all kinds of questions about my car ( how much did I pay for it) Gave me the feel of a used car salesman The pedicure was ok. After we got to my nails he became anxious to get finished and at one point told me to hurry up and give him my hand. I only pulled it for a second to check a text. He then couldn't find his nail file so I told him to hurry up. The owner then came in. He caught the tail end of a sentence and the man doing my nails didn't hear English well at all. However the owner got nasty with me as a customer and told me to stop. I said excuse me Don't talk to me that way I'm a customer here. He refused to hear anything. He then began asking customers if they like water. I never even was asked for water. This is horrible customer service on the worst level. i had an appointment today for two full sets and an eyebrow wax. first of all when i walked in and said we had appointments he asked if it was for a pedicure. i replied no we had two full sets and a wax. again he asked about the pedicures and i again explained we were getting full sets and a wax. he leads me to the chair and my friend to another chair. i show him my picture which is a long set with black french tips and he quotes me $70. i asked how it was $70 when on the website the base price is $35. he said the length. i look up the website and show him that no where does it say they charge for length. it was a $5 charge for shaping and another $5 charge for the french tip. so i guess it's $25 for length?? so i asked to get the $35 service because that's what i booked and he gave me short square nails that look awful. then in the middle of my service without the acrylic ever being set he has me pay for both mine and my friend's service. i have never had to pay in the middle of the service. and after my nails were done he didn't even remember the wax and i was just done at the point. it's ridiculous and i will not be coming back. read more

PURE NAIL SPA - THIRD TIME'S THE CHARGE or NOT SO IN THIS CASE. I had my THIRD HORRIBLE experience with this establishment. My first experience was a pricing issue. I was told one thing over the telephone/another thing when I attempted to verify their pricing once I arrived and after my pedi & fill in were completed - I was charged an entirely different price. Oh & I was SOLD on some "glow in the dark" nail polish that NEVER GLOWED IN THE DARK. My second experience was with the color I asked for. I LOVE the "tiger's eye" designs. I selected a blue pattern. As the gentleman was painting my nails/I expressed concern because it actually looked purple/NOT/blue. He assured me that it WAS IN FACT BLUE and after sometime I should be able to see it "change". Once I got home - I asked my husband AND my neighbor what color they thought it was. They BOTH confirmed "PURPLE" and in my neighbor's words - "it isn't even BLURPLE" (blue + purple). Had to go back the next day to get it BLUE (not tiger's eye) which costs more and was what I paid for - no refund was offered. TODAY/Thursday, July 20th. Hubby & I went in to get (for him) a mani/pedi (for me) a fill-in and pedi. When we sat at the pedi station/the young woman working on my husband's feet asked if we were together and if we wanted THE BASIC pedicure. I responded "yes and yes". After the guy who was doing my services had FINISHED with my feet and had taken me to start on my fill-in. I noticed hubby was STILL getting his feet worked on (hhhmmm curious). When I went to pay for both of us. Hubby's charges were the same as mine when I got "SPECIAL POLISH" on my nails. After arguing with the owner - I was told that we were NOT REGULAR customers anyway - so, he wasn't concerned that I had said we would NEVER patronize PURE NAILS again. He further stated (after they questioned my husband, who TRULY DOESN'T know about services) that my husband was a GROWN MAN and should have understood that he was getting a service other than THE BASIC pedicure. I told him that the young woman who had already asked me IF we were together and VERIFIED the type of services that we BOTH were there for/should have STUCK TO what I - I, the person who was paying had agreed to pay for. I know this is a book; BUT, had to get this "OFF MY CHEST". As I told my husband AND PURE NAILS of Charlestown, WV.
