We just had a Tesla Solar Roof installed, needed new 6" gutters, and was having such a hard time getting gutter companies to even call me back. I contacted by M&R and AL Roofing & Gutters and both completely failed to return my calls, texts and emails. After a pretty frustrating month, I asked the Tesla roofing guys if they could recommend someone and they gave me Lorenzo's number. I called & left him a message. He returned my call within a couple of hours and then came by later that same afternoon to take a look at our roof. He told me he would get an estimate to my by Monday (it was Friday that day). Sure enough, Monday I get an email from Amakua with the estimate. Pricing was fair, customer service was great, so we signed it and sent it back. Just a few days later, Lorenzo and his teammate, Pono, showed up and got right to work. He was planning to finish the whole project that day, but due to rain (we live in Manoa), it ended up taking a couple of days. Throughout the whole thing, Lorenzo was very friendly, upbeat (even when he got rained out a couple times), and our gutters look beautiful. I never thought I'd get excited about gutters, but he did such a great job, even running the downspouts into our rain barrels, and everything looks so professional. Lorenzo and Amakua are just awesome.

Whatever got loose jammed the latch assembly such that no matter which direction I turned the knob I could not get the latch assembly to retract. Consequently, the door was locked in the closed direction with no way to get into the bathroom. I called One Stop Rooftop and spoke to Paul explaining the problem I had. He sent Marty and Kai and in 5 minutes he had the door open by loosening the trim enough to slide a flat bar and un-engage the latch assembly. Marty knew what he was doing and had everything restored back to normal and caulked all the gaps. What a wonderful, quick, and straight to the cause of the problem. Duke Okudara responded quickly to inspect my roof using a drone and provided a comprehensive, highly competitive estimate. Trevor, the owner, then personally followed up with me to refine the estimate based on my exact needs . The entire process was seamless. The Voyager subcontractor arrived two days prior to the main crew to safely remove my solar panels. The main crew arrived right on time on Saturday morning, led by experienced craftsmen Peter, Gus, and Felipe. They were incredibly respectful of my property and neighbors, kept strictly to the timeline, and completed the project exactly on schedule. Once the roof was finished, the solar subcontractor returned, re-installed my panels using all-new racks and connectors, and ran an operational test to ensure everything performed perfectly to specification. Their estimate included all of their professional bona fides (Contractor License, Liability, and Workers' Comp Insurance docs), leaving no stone unturned If you are considering a roofing project, I highly recommend calling Voyager and asking for Duke!

They scheduled us months earlier (because when you are good, people will wait for you), and they started on the exact day they promised. They showed up every morning at 7 and brought everything they needed, including their own scaffolding. It is not easy work, but they are machines. On the last day it was incredibly windy / gusty, but they managed to finish the project even though much of it was from scaffolding and on the windy side of the house. They removed hose reels, masked light fixtures and windows, shielded landscaping, painted our gutters and downspouts, and cleaned up at the end of the day. You will not find easier-going, nicer guys. That's probably why you will also not find anybody else that does what they do for as long as they've done it with ALL 5 Star reviews. From start to finish, Alaka'i Raingutters had been great to work with. I met with the company's…read moreowner, Glen, for the initial estimate appointment. He measured my two roof lines and we discussed where to optimally place the downspouts so that the rain water is able to flow away from the foundation on our property. He emailed me my estimate a few days later and it included diagrams of my rooflines and where each downspout would be. With every estimate, I typically have some follow up questions. Glen responded to all of my questions in a direct and timely manner. He provides a 5 year warranty on the workmanship of the gutter installation. The other estimates that I received only offered 3 years or less. The estimate price from Glen was reasonable and within our budget so we decided to go with Alaka'i Raingutters. On installation day, Glen and his crew of 3 guys arrived on time and started setting up. Glen and I reviewed where the down spouts would be again. I requested to move one of the downspouts on the other side of the corner as It would've been in the way of a gate that will be installed shortly. Glen said no problem. He not only directed his crew what to do, but Glen also worked on the installation too. He helped to cut/fabricate the gutters & downspouts, climbed on the roof to fasten the gutters to the roof lines, and attached the downspouts. I really respect a business owner who works along side his workers to get the job done. This shows his passion to his craft and commitment to take a "hands on" approach to ensure that the rain gutters are installed properly. His crew was also professional and worked hard in the hot sun. They finished installing over 500 feet of stainless "K" style aluminum gutters and 11 downspouts in 6 hours (I was truly impressed). After the installation was completed, Glen and I reviewed the work. He attached another short downspout that connects to a lower gutter to ensure proper water flow to the correct downspout. I am completely satisfied with the quality of work that Alaka'i Raingutters has done. I would strongly recommend using Alaka'i Raingutters for your gutter installation and repair needs!
