I showed up out of the blue as a new customer and they did a same day wash (not dry cleaning,…read moreregular laundry) on my giant king size comforter. It's too big to wash in my home washing machine so this place will be my go to spot. I came early and had to ask nicely of course, but they were very accommodating to me wanting it back the same day. My boyfriend told me they have "been there forever" and I can see why. My only complaint would be the parking is really challenging during peak shopping times since this place is smack dab in the middle of downtown Westport.

Westport has many writers living here but this is the first time I've seen books displayed proclaiming the authors patronage. Eyeing Keith Richards book on the wall made we wonder what he wears that needs dry cleaning, but I digress. My shirts and slacks came out very nice and were ready as promised. They also, finish up the shirts with a hand iron, nice touch. The cost here is higher than most places but the quality is high. When my novel is published, hopefully it will be put right next to Keith's. Who knows, maybe I'll get a discount too

I like this laundromat in that the equipment is all new, it is not usually crowded, the staff is…read morereally nice, it is (IMPORTANT) well-air conditioned (I am a winter girl and I strongly dislike the summer and the heat) -- but there is one MAJOR issue with it -- no matter what washer I use there -- and I have sensitive skin and use unscented, dye-free detergent, and my clothes always come out smelling like weird perfume. I've actually been unable to get the smell OUT of some clothes so I stopped going there, because it smells like old lady perfume or something and is strong. Once, I did my sheets there and had to re-do them all, because my bed smelled like a herd of old ladies or weird white ladies with bad taste from department stores were sleeping in it. I used to always go to the other one on Main Ave. -- which has a severe lack of washers because the staff uses them and does not care if there are none for customers and will let stuff sit in dryers for a considerable amount of time, even if people are waiting to use them. They suggested East Ave, and like I said, great facility, great people, but I don't understand the perfume smell. If it happened once, I'd not complain -- but it happened more than once, and I really don't like the time waste of doing laundry as it is, so having to do it twice is just painful to me. Maybe they'll look into it. I know I have a bit of a wolf nose, but it IS strong and my husband noticed it, too, since I never smell like old white lady.

I also have a habit of buying things with a vision for them that requires tailoring). Moving from NY to CT I had a hard time finding a tailor that did great work but also didn't charge a fortune, especially given the volume of items I bring in. Jeannie does all my alterations now. The work is very good and the pricing is very fair for how much work each garment needs. I'm glad I discovered this place. It is not even really convenient to where I live but always worth the drive back and forth.

It's sewn crooked and very poorly. The thread work is sloppy and they sewed a crease into the dress! I was charged $90 for this terrible work, and I when I refused to pay so much for shoddy tailoring they took $20 off. I didn't want to argue further so I paid $70 and left with my ruined dress. They offered to fix it, and said it was an oversight, but I'm so disgusted they would think this dress was ready for a customer that I do not trust them to work on it again. I will never return here. I could have done this crappy of a job myself! DO NOT GET ANYTHING TAILORED HERE. You will regret it.

There are plenty of options for washers and dryers, which the ones that handle larger loads charging more I've never had to wait for a washer or dryer because there are so many. The woman who works Sundays is extremely friendly and I don't know if she truly recognizes everyone who comes in, but she always looks happy to see you and asks how I've been. They have a few TVs throughout the place so if you're waiting for your laundry to finish washing or drying, or folding, chances are you can see what's on. There's also free Wifi while you wait, or you can always shop at Goodwill across the parking lot to kill some time. Their cheapest washers are over $3 which seems expensive to me, but I usually spend no more than $1 on a dryer for 28 minutes of drying which evens the cost out, and it's cheaper than another laundromat I've tried in Wilton. There's a change machine that accepts $1, $5, $10, and $20s if you don't have enough quarters which is nice, so you can just get a 20 from your bank's ATM and it's enough to cover several loads. Overall a great place to do you laundry if you have need of a laundromat with friendly staff when they're there, though the actual building is open 24/7, TV and free wifi, and nice machines.

I have used Final Touch for many years with success although they are ridiculously expensive…read more Sometimes I get a smile from their sullen personnel. I brought in an Oscar de la Renta silk jacket to patch the sleeves since the silk ripped. When I picked it up, I saw that instead of an invisible patch inside the garment, they patched it and sewed, in crazy quilt fashion, all over the the rips that were formerly invisible on the surface. I was pretty angry and said that if they had doubts about the way they planned to repair the jacket they should have called me. The owner, not one bit apologetic, said he couldn't call all his customers. I thought up 2 ways to fix the rips but didn't trust them to do a decent job. I assumed he wouldn't charge me for the work. Guess what? He wanted half the fee. Sick of arguing, I paid for half the work. This owner made a serious mistake. The Cleaning business IS customer service! Had he been one bit apologetic, I would have been mollified and we might have worked out a way to fix the problem. I will never go there again and tell my friends about their disregard for my property, after all, we entrust dry cleaners with our clothes, if they ruin them, they owe us money! Stay away!

Extremely disappointing experience with Minute Men Cleaners in Shelton…read more I dropped off my wife's dress with two small stains and was told it would be ready Thursday. When I arrived, they couldn't find the dress and gave us conflicting explanations about where it was. After several days and multiple calls, we were finally told the dress was with the tailor. When my wife picked it up, it had numerous new stains and what appeared to be chemical burns that were not there when we dropped it off. We have photos documenting the damage. What was most frustrating was the complete lack of accountability. When we contacted the manager, there was no explanation or meaningful solution--just "I didn't do it" and an instruction to bring the dress back and wait two weeks while they "determine what happened." Mistakes happen, but damaging a garment and then refusing to take responsibility or provide transparency is unacceptable. We trusted Minute Men with a valuable dress and received it back significantly worse than when we left it.
