I see a lot of mixed reviews for this studio, but obviously I can only speak on my own experience. I visited for the first time today and took a classic barre class which was 50 minutes. I also want to mention that I booked the class through Class Pass. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Emmie who was also my instructor. She was very sweet and so welcoming. She gave me a brief summary of what to expect and answered any questions I had. My first impression of the studio was that it was very clean and cute. The class itself was great. Emmie is an awesome instructor and very motivating which makes all the difference. There is a parking lot but it can get full as the studio is located in a plaza with other businesses. Overall, I had a great experience here and can see myself coming back. read more

Pure Barre Lake Oswego - Barre Classes Near Me - Lake Oswego, Oregon

Pure Barre is the kind of place that you visit and immediately feel at home. Always welcoming, always fun - their classes are not just challenging, they offer variety and engagement that takes you to the next level. I'm so glad I found them, I honestly prefer them to any barre studio in the area (I've tried them all). The instructors are top notch and incredibly helpful. I also appreciate that they mix things up with new styles of class - I just tried a brand new class the other day which engaged a ton of lateral movement - not common in Barre and really left me feeling like I experienced something new. They recently reopened and I am very excited to see what they have in store for Lake Oswego! read more

Love the workouts here and the instructors! I like the fact that while they challenge us they also pay attention to our form to make sure we are doing the exercises correctly. They also give us other options to try if we are unable to do some of the exercises in the planned choreography. read more

I hate to have to leave a negative review but after sitting with this for a few hours, it needs to be said. I had an extremely unpleasant phone conversation earlier this afternoon with Melissa at Pure Barre Lake Oswego. I inquired online about my first class and Melissa called me. Her first question to me was what type of class I was looking to take. I told her that I have only taken classes at Barre3 and don't know the different options at Pure Barre, but I would just like to take whatever the standard or classic barre class is. She cut me off as I was explaining this and said "The only class we allow you to take for your intro is our classic barre. You don't get to choose another type of class." I said "Great. You just asked me what type of class I wanted to take so I was answering your question." She then said "I meant to ask you when you wanted to take a class." I gave her my availability and schedule a class for next week. I gave her my card info to hold my place in the class, and everything seemed to be okay regardless of her shortness with me. She then asked where I was currently taking barre. I said I had taken classes at a few Barre3 locations around Portland with ClassPass. She immediately talked over me and said "Oh. We do not take ClassPass." I said word for word, "Okay? I'm not booking this with ClassPass." And she said "Well I know but you have to have a membership. We will not allow you to use ClassPass." And I said "I didn't ask if I could use ClassPass... and I wasn't planning on it." It was such a strange and aggressive reaction - she seemed MAD at me. I was so confused about her energy towards me. Then she said "Well do you live in Lake Oswego?" And I said, "No I don't" She followed up with, "Oh. So you must live in a town surrounding Lake Oswego then." I said "Nope. I live on Sauvie Island." She let out a huge sigh and said "Well that is really far from us I don't see why you'd be booking a class so far from home." I'm sorry.... What? I don't have to live near a studio to take a class or have a membership there. I am a nurse and work very close to Lake Oswego. I have many friends in that area and spend a huge amount of time in that area. I finally said to Melissa that I didn't like the direction the conversation was going in and no longer wanted to take a class there. She immediately started to back pedal and apologize and try to get me to still come. All of the sudden she was being nice after being harsh the entire conversation. I held my ground and said no. If I was the owner of this location I would want to know how crude and off putting one of my staff members was being towards potential new members. I was looking to sign up for a membership but I will be going elsewhere. read more

I have been doing Barre classes for years and have been a member at different studios. I was so excited when I moved to the area and found a Pure Barre in Lake Oswego. At first it was great. However, over a short amount of time my experiences started to get worse. The instructors are not necessarily friendly or helpful. The studio also tends to overcrowd classes and it can be difficult and frustrating to find a spot that gives you enough room for the class. My breaking point was an Empower Class that was also a "candlelight" so there are small battery operated candles near each station. Again, the studio was overcrowded and given that an Empower class requires you to move around quite a bit and do floor work, more space is necessary. I ended up getting kicked in the face by other member. It was not her fault at all. Thankfully, the kick was not hard and I was fine. However, I was so humiliated and embarrassed. It was awful. Not to mention how frustrated I was that the studio would be so careless and not show any concern. I just left the class right in the middle of it, cancelled my membership and have never been back. Barre is one of my favorite classes and I was and have been very disappointed because the local offerings for Barre classes is limited. I am not sure if the studio has improved its operations but from the recent reviews I would say not. This review is overdue and I do not like to necessarily post negative reviews for businesses unless the experience was really bad. However, upon reflection, mine was. read more

I absolutely love pure barre and have made some wonderful connections and friendships throughout the past several months I have been a member! Not only have I seen results, but I am stronger and it helps to have healthy structure and to get out of the house. Taylor and Randi (the owner) stand out as my favorite instructors. All the classes have variety which helps with boredom, as I would experience working out alone or in a bike. Would highly recommend read more

I suffered a back injury and have a herniated disc in my spine that causes me severe pain while sitting, standing, walking and laying down. I reached out to Phrr Barre to cancel or pause my membership since I cannot use the service I am paying for due to my injury. I have been instructed by my doctor to stop all physical activity until I can get physical therapy. I explained this but the regional manager Lexi still wants me to pay for the month for a service I cannot use because their policy states I need to give them a 30-day cancellation notice. I let her know I did not receive a 30-day notice about my injury in order to do that. Instead of being a reasonable adult she claims they will send me to collections for $89. This is by far the worst experience I've had, even worse than planet fitness. I would highly suggest not using this place unless you can 100% guarantee you will never be injured and unable to give them a 30-day notice. read more

I LOVE THESE GUYS!!! The instructors and members are to tier. Can't wait to spend 2025 with these guys read more

Unprofessional and untrained instructors. Much better options in the Portland area - better results and better prices.

One class with Rachel and I was hooked. I love coming here. Started with 2 classes a week and the very next month, I changed my membership to unlimited because it is so worth it. Love the atmosphere, everyone is so friendly, staff and other members. Would recommend 100% read more

Fantastic Barre studio! Really fun classes with knowledgeable teachers. I feel very welcome in this community and the teachers are available to answer questions or give tips to make sure your form let's you get the most out of each exercise. My favorite place to workout! read more

My first week taking a Pure Barre class, I was able to jump right in and take instruction. I have extra covid lbs so i take a pause when it's too hard. I'm hooked. The club has great atmosphere, we are talking clean, calm, private classes. There were only a handful of women in my first couple classes. The music is customised to each movement, the instructors give clear instruction thru a mic. And I'm already seeing results. read more

This place is fabulous! I come in and turn off my mind after a long stressful day and just let the teacher lead the way. I leave tired but feeling good. It pushes me but not so much that I can't do it. The music is upbeat and fun and the class is never the same. Highly recommend this place :) read more

I am loving my classes at PB Lake Oswego! Every time I enter the studio I receive a warm welcome. They have done an excellent job adapting to COVID-19 health and safety protocols with plenty of designated space for each person and sanitation practices. Finding an hour of "me" time as a working Mom is always challenging but I leave each class feeling productive, energized and SOOO glad I made time to take care of myself. As a professional dancer, PB workouts are the perfect balance between low-impact strengthening and sculpting. I have taken classes from different instructors every time and the sequences are always different, keeping it fun and exciting. I can feel that everyone truly cares about my individual experience. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Pure Barre changed my life! I love coming to every single class! I lifted weights for most of my life and it was taking a toll on my body. I feel so much better and can really see a change in my body! read more

I was extremely disappointed with this barre studio. All the teachers use the same format for their classes. There is no variety. I joined on a one month basis to try it out. The first week was ok, but absolutely no variety, I went to 3 different teachers and they all did the same routine. I took a week off due to illness. When I went back, I thought I would ease my way into the class and work at my own pace. The teacher zeroed in on me, kept coming over to me. I tried to be polite and quietly indicate to her I was uncomfortable with her. She kept it up and was extremely intrusive that I left the class. So one month at Pure Barre in Lake Oswego on State street was enough for me. read more

This studio is terrific for so many reasons. Been going there for 2 years and have never felt stronger--and still learning a new technique or posture all the time. Teachers are really great--focused on proper form, but more importantly, enthusiastic and fun! What I love though, most of all, is the diversity of clientele--we come in all shapes and sizes, from different walks of life--but everyone is so friendly and welcoming. No competitive vibe in that studio -- you only compete with yourself -- and modifications are encouraged so that everyone leaves invigorated. Highly recommend! read more

I love this low impact and amazing results workout! I joined over a year ago because I wanted something different, I wanted to become more flexible, and stronger and Pure Barre has delivered. read more

I really like this studio, all the teachers and staff. The workouts are challenging, but the teachers are great at explaining the various movements and encouraging at the same time. The theme classes are always fun as well. read more

I love Pure Barre. It's challenging but a great workout. I leave feeling satisfied. I have issues with my neck, back and knees and the teachers were able to give me ways to make it work for where my body is. I appreciate that they come check in with me if I'm doing something incorrectly to make sure I don't tweak something. I've taken a class by all of them and don't know that I have a favorite. They're all awesome. read more

such a fun place to workout, especially if you have a dance background. all the teachers and staff are so friendly and welcoming. I love that everything is at your level too, so you never have to do anything you are comfortable doing. I hadn't worked out in 3+ years and now go 3-4 times a week after a few months. read more

I feel so lucky to have this studio in our downtown area. The community and instruction are unparalleled to any other. During Covid-19, they have managed to keep us engaged-offering outdoor classes as well as live zoom classes. I cannot wait until they can open back up completely. read more

In less than a year, Pure Barre Lake Oswego has transformed my life from the inside out. It was initially intimidating going from being sedentary to opting for a boutique exercise studio routine, but the staff at Pure Barre LO take all of that away. This group of women and men are so personable and kind, supporting all types of people and bodies regardless of where you're at with your health and fitness level. While the mental benefits have been incredible in addition to the great friendships I've made at the studio, I feel and look stronger, more toned and have so much energy! I check everything at the door when I arrive and leave feeling a million times better than before--every time. It's a full-body work out and it WORKS. While some other work outs and/or studios are more competition-based, Pure Barre encourages members and guests to take the work out at their own pace and to honor what each individual body needs that day, further enhancing that comfortable and welcoming environment and lessening any kind of intimidation factor. They have all kinds of fun challenges that pop up, like 20 classes in 30 days etc., that just further incentivizes what is ultimately a commitment to and investment in yourself. Fun group, very welcoming and encouraging environment. When I hit 100 classes, the amazing staff essentially threw me a party to celebrate and they take a personal interest in each individual, supporting your journey from day 1. I'm a huge fan and this has worked for me, so I encourage everyone I know to give it a try and see what it can do for you. Really can't hype it up enough, and while I could go on, I'd highly recommend coming in and checking it out for yourself. First class (Intro to Foundations) is free, see you there! read more
