I have been going to Pure Barre (West Chester) for several months now and am entirely hooked. I…read morehave been working out my whole life, but was really needing to find something different to support and strengthen my lower back and joints. I saw an ad on Facebook for a free Pure Barre class. I signed up and dove in. My free intro class was with the owner, Kendra. She was kind and helpful throughout class-- providing gentle corrections on my form as we went along. I ended up signing up for the "8 class/month" package and am so glad I did. There are several different types of classes to choose from (my faves are Classic and Align). I have found that my workouts at Pure Barre have made me significantly stronger, more toned, more flexible, more controlled, and better balanced. I love that with the 8 class pack, I can fit classes into my monthly schedule at times that work best for me. The schedule varies each day and month, giving you an opportunity to try different classes, instructors, and workout times. The instructors are all amazing and so kind and helpful and encouraging and gentle in their corrections. I appreciate how closely they pay attention to each person's form, while leading a fast paced class. I won't lie-- the classes are hard. But they are worth it. And they move so fast there isn't much time to complain. Classes change monthly, so you never do the same workout more than a time or two. If you're nervous about trying a group class, I recommend still giving Pure Barre a chance. The fast pace, hard work, and fun music make it easy to relax and just focus on yourself and your form.

I signed up for the 30-day trial at Full Body Yoga and initially thought I had found a great…read morefit--convenient location, good class times, and a couple solid classes to start. Then I took the yin/restorative class. It was 44 degrees outside, and the studio had the AC running. The room stayed cold the entire 75-minute class. A student asked about turning up the heat and ultimately left early because of it. Multiple people used blankets just to stay warm. The instructor even acknowledged the temperature and suggested we use blankets to cover up--yet the AC continued running and nothing was adjusted. Restorative yoga is supposed to be relaxing and intentional. This felt like the opposite. If the goal was a cold yoga experience, it might be worth making that clear upfront.

I wanted to wait to write this review until I'd taken both a yoga and a workout class. Now that…read moreI've officially completed both (my burning quads can confirm), I can definitely recommend checking out this cute studio! The yoga class (VIN to YIN) I took earlier this week was with Marta - she was kind and helpful - offering several modifications for some of the harder movements throughout the practice. The class itself was mostly moms with a few men mixed in ... which can be a rarity sometimes in the yoga world. I left her class feeling relaxed and recharged. The workout class I took this morning (Full Body Fit) was with Andrea. She is exactly the kind of person you want leading your pilates/barre workout - lots of excited energy. This is a great way to start your morning ... 45 minutes of hard work, then you're already done with your workout for the day! I do feel this studio is lacking some class variety. I understand it may be difficult to fill classes coming out of the pandemic - but if you're looking to take an early morning class or even break up your workday with some yoga, you won't find those options here. I also wish there was a phone number listed somewhere so you could call with questions - the app and the website have very detailed information, but if you ever needed to call for any reason, there's no way to do that without getting your instructor's direct number. That said -- I do love that you can book classes directly through the app. They have a generous cancellation policy of three hours. If you don't have a mat to call your own, they have several ready for you to use.

Update after going there for a few months. First review was after just a couple classes. Then the…read moretruth came out. They are definitely committing fraud with the No Show fees. They tried to charge me once for a class I was present for and I threw a fit and they refunded me. They subsequently tried it again another time, but I had started checking on the app after every class that they had checked me in, and I went to the desk and asked them to check me in as they hadn't after class. The lady looked at me as I told her my name, she pretended to check me in on the computer and I refreshed my app to make sure she did and she had not. I told her for the third time to check me in and she finally did. That is not a mistake. If I hadn't paid attention, they would have stolen a lot of money from me. After my experience, I informed my friends to make sure they check their accounts and between 3 other people that I went with, they charged 11 no show fees that they refused to refund when the girls were present for every class. That's $165 stolen just from people I know. I can only imagine how much they are making stealing from everyone who doesn't regularly check their accounts. If you don't check your bank account, they WILL (probably already have) steal from you. I have reported them to the FTC for the fraud. They are not certified to train anyone. Their certification consists of 7 hours. I am a certified yoga instructor and I spent 6 months of being in class for 24 hours every other weekend. I also have ti be CPR certified, which their staff is definitely not. My friend had a heat stroke there which landed her in the hospital and the staff did absolutely nothing to help her when she was passed out in the lobby. A fellow, good samaritan CLIENT took it upon herself to run and get her cold towels and offer to call 911 while the staff stood by and watched from afar and ignored the situation. Ultimately the kind woman called my friend's husband to get her and take her to the ER. My friends and I immediately cancelled our memberships. My $400 sunglasses were stolen from there. But other than that, it's great! I can't imagine this outfit lasts too long with their shady business model and incompetent "teachers."

The ownership is terrible. Instructors and employees are great. It's a shame…read more The front door has been broken for 6 months. One evening I was the last client to leave and totally panicked because I could not open the door to get out. A mirror panel has been broken for 4+ months with painters tape as what appears to be their long term solution. The studio has added a tacky lights strip put up rather than prioritizing the safety of instructors and clients by replacing the mirror and door properly.
