Excited to get in shape! This location opened a month ago (at the old Fitworks location, says my…read moreBF), Dec 2018 and I joined Jan 2019. Crunch fits my personal needs perfect beyond other gyms and I assume there are others like me. I'm out of shape, not having worked out consistently for years. I'm seeking total body conditioning - a little of each cardio, toning/weights, stretching, core. Don't have a ton of time, and don't have a million bucks. I moved to the area November 2018 with my boyfriend who has been a member of Planet Fitness for 7 years. Though it was inexpensive and only 5 min away there's no group fitness classes. I prefer to zone out mentally and have someone else tell me what to do. Workout videos are great but tend to gather dust. Orange Theory is out of my price range. I used to do crossfit Covington but since dislocating my elbow in a rock climbing fall, I can't do a lot of the moves which are too aggressive too quick. A couple months later Crunch fitness opened 3 minutes away from our house! I heard the ad on Pandora, and "group fitness classes" and "Newport" caught my ear. So I went. I love group fitness classes and am price conscious, so this fit the bill. Crunch Fitness has all the regular gym stuff and more, brand spanking new at the moment. There is a small enrollment fee, annual fee, and 3 tiers of monthly prices of: tier 1 you work out in the gym on your own, tier 2 gets entry into most classes and tanning/massage chairs, tier 3 gets all the above and also the cycle and Hiitzone classes. The first two tiers are just like nearby planet fitness in price, but even the 2nd tier at Crunch gets group fitness. I got the highest tier called "peak results." Still very reasonable. Crunch fitness has expansive cardio equipment - 30-40 treadmills with fans, ellipticals, cycles, stairsteppers, even my favorite the rotating staircase, and Jacob's ladders. The gym is open concept (except for cycle and group fitness), but separated from cardio with a step down/half wall, there are weight machines, free weights, hittzone area. The Hittzone area reminds me of some Crossfit equipment - plyo boxes, medicine balls, a sprint astroturf for pushing sleds, tires, lunges. All new new new stuff. Floor is clean and made of those dense waterproof but somewhat compressible pad. With Planet Fitness nearby I wondered why Crunch decided to open but I'm guessing they did the market research and found this area would support another large gym, to ease the crowds at PF. I've gone to 6 classes so far, and the Kickoff with a personal trainer to assess my fitness. The assessment shocked me how out of shape I'm in, so I'm ready to get into the gym more. I'll report back after attending a Hiitzone class. Lastly, the people who work there are super nice and make me feel welcome!

I've been a happy member here since 2019. I pretty exclusively use the memberships to attend…read moreclasses, multiple times a week. I continue to be impressed by the variety of classes offered as well as the instructors. Pilates, yoga, HIIT, spin, strength training, dance- they really offer it all! I also love using the hydro massage chair or red light therapy pod after a workout and rarely have to wait for it. Desk employees are friendly too. Really the most negative thing I can say is at peak times you may have to park farther away than you would like.

In my early 60s I was losing my strength, flexibility and mobility as well has beginning to show a finding of osteopenia on my bone density test. I have a very strong family history of osteoporosis and I did not want to continue down that road. After strength and resistance training for just a few years with Melissa, my bone density became normal and continues to be normal at age 66. I feel stronger than I have ever been and I am able to get down on the floor to play with my granddaughter without difficulty. As part of my normal sessions, we worked on "pre-habbing" my right hip and as a result, my recovery from hip replacement surgery was well ahead of the curve. Training at QFit is fun but seeing and feeling the positive results definitely makes it worthwhile.
