I've been taking Pure Barre Classes for over 2 years and I am still inspired and excited every time I attend a class. The instructors are top notch and their enthusiasm and encouragement is what makes a difference. Also the community that is Pure Barre in Carmel-By-The-Sea is equally as inspiring and supportive. There are a variety of class styles so it never gets boring and lots of class times to fit your schedule. Don't be afraid to try a class you may just find this is what you've been searching for to kick-start or resume caring for your body, mind and spirit! read more

I love this place. The ladies are great. Shoutout to Leslie and Sam! :) I took their intro class and I loved the way it made my body feel sculpted and strengthened. It's a mix of Pilates and ballet and I can't wait to get back to a class when I have some more free time. read more

Best workout! Best instructors! Clean and big studio! You don't have to worry about not being able to schedule classes. There are so many to choose from and when one gets super busy, they add another. Fantastic community of women all ages, all shapes and sizes! All levels! Reasonably priced membership. read more

I love this place! The instructors are so inviting and well-trained. I've had several injuries and my healing process accelerates when I attend. The classes are low-impact yet challenging, and I've noticed that my body proportions have improved over the years despite being a senior citizen. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

Pure Barre Carmel By The Sea - Here I am all sweaty after an Empower workout! - Barre Classes Near Me - Carmel, California

I will say, the work out was great. The instructor clearly cared, and the people involved wanted the best- but for sound-sensitive people, the microphone the instructors have to use is absolutely awful. The sound quality of the microphone is so bad, it makes the instructor sound like a pilot on Spirit Airlines, and it made it very difficult to follow the flow. I want to come back, but I cannot with the current sound system. read more

I've been a member here for about a year and a half! This place has been awesome for both exercise and self-confidence. Fun and professional staff are the best and it's a great community. read more

This place is so much more than a studio! I adore this Pure Barre community- let me tell you why. My husband and I moved to Seaside about a year and a half ago- we had some immediate family in the area, but no friends. After some years spent feeling pretty isolated during COVID, we were overjoyed to be near family! But with the move came other challenges. We spent a lot of nights trying to sort out how to make friends - in our late 30's (my husband) and early 40's (me), both working from home, in a new city. A neighbor of my mother-in-law was throwing a holiday house party, and my husband and I basically begged an invite. We were so excited! And after 3 glasses of wine, the subject of Pure Barre came up. Our charming hostess (who is now a dear friend!) sang its praises, and encouraged us to try a Pure Barre class. (I may or may not have proved to the group I could touch my toes- as one does after 3 glasses of wine.) And the whole group eagerly agreed to meet up for an introductory class. The rest, as they say, is history! I was hooked from Day 1. And I am not a joiner. Or a gym person. Or a class person. I'm a die-hard solo hiker. Who recognized some core strengthening could be a really good thing. And let me just tell you- I LOVE this Pure Barre Carmel-by-the-Sea community!! It's so very much more than an exercise class. It's support, and joy, and health, and movement, and strength- and most of all, it's connection. Leslie, supported by an incredible and inspiring group of instructors, has created real magic here. It's an ecosystem, really- full of life, unique characters, and a real passion that is infectious in the BEST possible way. Stop by for a class- you'll be so glad you did! read more

Great spot in Carmel by the sea. I took a weekend trip and stopped by as a trial experience. Service was great and plan to return soon.

Amazing workouts! Awesome staff! The workout class flies by. I absolutely love working out here. Online and in-person classes are just amazing! Try it once and you'll be hooked! read more

Been doing Pure Barre for over a year now and I love it soso much! The music, the energy, the instructors!! The people, the community, everything about it! They make working out fun and I definitely recommend everyone to come and try it :) read more

The workouts and instructors are amazing. I have made this my main source of exercise and love the way the choreography changes all the time. I have a shoulder injury and a fractured L5 and they have been great at helping me find modified versions of what they are doing. I'd highly recommend you check them out. Locals get their first class free! read more

Take a class and you will be hooked!! That is, once you've gotten over your initial soreness. (It doesn't last forever, promise.) I took a class through a friend, received a discounted rate for awhile and then took the leap and now go 5 days a week! I cannot say I like one instructor over another because I love the different instructors' styles and what they bring to my workout. I appreciate the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) reminders from them that make a huge difference in the workout. The studio is gorgeous and large so that I never feel cramped or uncomfortable. And you are not too old or young to take a class at this studio and I love seeing my own progress take shape on my body and throughout the workout. These people are always celebrating a birthday, Monday morning workout, St, Patrick's Day, engagement, milestone # class, and just about anything that they can! So, put on your sticky socks and come be part of this amazing community! read more

Pure Barre - Carmel by the Sea offers a terrific, low-impact workout. The studio is clean and the instructors are friendly and welcoming. I belong to a Pure Barre in Sacramento and this is my studio away from home! read more

This place had the standard barre routine except the music was so loud you couldn't hear any of the instructions from the trainer. I mean, so loud I almost got a nose bleed. Not even embarrassed to plug my ears, ridiculous. Everyone who attends these classes will need hearing aids by age 40. Also, the trainer did not guide or help me in any way - even though I was new and one of the oldest members of class. All in all, a psychosis-inducing experience. read more

I just started working out at Pure Barre Carmel. It has been a great experience so far. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The instructors are very knowledgeable, helpful and encouraging. They are very good about giving extra help with modifications before and after class. A good schedule of classes is offered. The studio and equipment are clean and we'll maintained. A big shout out to Lindsey for recruiting me and to Kim for her patience and help! read more

Love! So clean & organized. Look forwarding to joining them again next time i'm up!

Just attended the foundations class at this Pure Barre location, and it was amazing! Both my friend and I left there with our legs shaking! It was a great workout. Our instructor Christin, was great. Friendly staff, super clean inside, and great location. Will definitely be going back for more classes! read more

From day one, I was hooked! Love the instructors, music, & members...the difference I see in my body (arms, stomach, "pure barre ledge") LTB (Lift, Tone, Burn!) It's just so inviting, clean, AND, they sell attire!!! I'm so glad I signed up for the unlimited monthly membership! read more

I have to agree with the first reviewer. I was interested in trying out the new Pure Barre here in town. I've been to the Pure Barre in San Francisco and Seattle branch and they were by far the best. I've tried the ones in Los Gatos, Pleasanton and they were just ok. It all depends on how great or not the instructors are. I signed up to try out a free class. Then I was repeatedly receiving annoying phone calls and text messages from the staff I had to block their numbers. The studio has a corporate feel, it's set up just like all the other branches. Everyone was friendly and greeted me as I walked in except the manager. Interesting it was the manager whom I received most of the annoying phone calls never bothered to greet me or the friend I was with. She was busy talking and laughing with her staff. You don't use a mat until you're given one towards halfway or the end of the workout so you are doing planks on the hard rubbery black floor. Which was not comfortable nor was it sanitary. The instructor who's new to barre and it was her first class to teach. She did really try her best, she seemed sweet but in dire need of more training. She seemed lost....She was giving out moves without pre warning on the next move or without much instructions or tips on the correct posture or form. She did try to explain how to tuck and what down/up an inch meant. In theory it may sound easy but not easy in practice in how to tuck. She never paid attention to anyone's movement or made any corrections. Barre is no way effective if you don't engage a certain body part, it's all about the correct posture and form. Your whole body is involved in Barre and it takes mental focus. Im no expert but Ive taken enough classes for 3 years and I've been with different instructors but I've also had the wonderful opportunity to have learned from some of the superb ones that were so outstanding who've set the bar(re) so high that makes difference in your barre experience and results. Sorry ladies I hope you all do well but I'll pass on this branch. read more

Whatever you do, don't give these guys your contact information! I've had to unsubscribe from four separate email lists they've put me on. I've had to ask them twice not to text me and then they started calling me at my office. Their business habits are unethical at best. Super shady. The instructors are brand new and lack anatomical knowledge to assist students. This is all without stating the fact that the flooring is akin to a brillo pad and is terrible for one's hands, knees, and feet (not to mention wholly unhygienic). There is no need to attend a class here since there are clean, quality and independently owned and operated studios on the Monterey Peninsula. read more

Incredible staff, full body work and great community! I always leave the studio happier than when I arrived.

Every instructor brings it to each class! They're soo encouraging and also extremely motivating, I've never been so excited to get a full body work out in before coming here read more

I started coming here right when pure barre opened up in Carmel!! I could not love it more, I have been going to Barre for years, but this is by far my favorite location! The staff is so amazing and so kind and fun. The workouts are excellent too, and the times available are so flexible with my schedule. Would recommend! 15/10!! read more

Love this place! They're awesome -- even during COVID made such great accommodations outside to keep classes safe. Always challenging, but doable workouts. read more

Pure Barre is great!! Wonderful community here and beautiful location within the Carmel Plaza! Definitely recommend for anyone looking for full body, low-impact workouts. read more

Ok so let me just start off by saying I tried this class really thinking it's not for me. I'm obese and far from fit. However I have never been to a place where I have felt so encouraged, supported and motivated to grow. Shelly is my instructor and I can not say how much I adore her! I still need to modify but she pushes me to just do MY best and I already feel stronger. I have already recommended a few friends to just try it because I know they too will love it. The only down fall is cost. It's a bit pricey and I wish I could afford to go more often but just not feasible. Over all great class, fantastic instructor and kick A$$ workout! read more

I look forward to Pure Barre everyday! While we can't be inside, the studio has done a great job and offering outdoor socially distant classes. Highly recommend Pure Barre if you want to tone up and get long and lean :) read more

Check out this Pure Barre Studio if you want a workout class that leaves you feeling refreshed, proud and strong! I've now attended over 100 classes with PB and love all of the instructors and the sense of community here. It doesn't matter where you are in your fitness journey- you're always welcome and able to modify and adjust and do what works for you. At the same time the workouts are always changing slightly, which keeps you on your toes and always pushes you! The "mind/body" workout you get here is simply fabulous, give it a try- I promise you'll leave feeling great. read more
