Ask the Community - Club Pilates Pacific Grove

Is Club Pilates, Pacific Grove, closing permanently? Or are there still plans to reopen?

I just went there today for the first time and loved it. There are currently two teachers a husband and wife so both men and women are really welcomed and encouraged to go. There is no membership fee for this month and you can choose between paying…

I have received two amazing massages from Massage Therapist, Ashley. I suffer from lower back pain…read moreand Ashley relieved my pain completely. On my initial visit I requested the Structural Body Work massage. Ashley discussed my situation at length and devised a whole body massage that addressed my issues. I left with no back pain and remained that way for nearly a month. Today was my second appointment with Ashley and I received the same amazing care. You can tell she cares about what she is doing. She is very careful with any spots that may be tender or need special attention. I highly recommend her. The studio itself is very nice. I have not taken any classes there but it is clean and well cared for. Hopefully I can try the Barre class sometime soon. I am grateful to have found this wonderful place and Ashley. I am a happy camper.

Dear Management Team, I am writing to share feedback…read moreregarding my visit to your studio today, where I intended to sign up for the month-long unlimited yoga promotional offer. Upon entering, I received a cold reception. Rather than a welcoming greeting, I was asked, "Is there something I can help you with?" in a tone that felt unwelcoming. When I explained that I was there to enroll in the promotional special, I was turned away and told to complete the sign-up online rather than being assisted at the front desk. As I observed the studio, the disconnect between its branding and its atmosphere was striking. The space prominently features South and East Asian cultural items and is named after the sacred tradition of "Om," yet there was a total absence of staff or community members of color. Utilizing cultural iconography while fostering an environment that feels exclusionary to diverse individuals creates a deeply unwelcoming dynamic. Yoga is rooted in principles of inclusion, respect, and community. I encourage management to review front-desk hospitality standards and reflect on how OM Studio can build an environment that genuinely respects and reflects the traditions from which it draws. Sincerely, Jenna Lee

It's…read morebrand new to the schedule, but I already know it's going to grow fast because it's just that good. Alyx and Oliver bring incredible energy, the workout is challenging in the best way, and the atmosphere is so welcoming. You'll leave knowing you got an amazing workout and completely drenched so definitely bring a change of clothes! If it's your first class or you're visiting from out of town, they have mats and mat towels available to rent.

I found them on Yelp, checked out their website, and loved that they were conveniently located…read moreright next to my hotel with plenty of parking. Their class selection felt intentional, and for a $37 drop-in, the value was definitely there. I took a 90-minute Bikram class where we move through the full sequence twice. It felt less about perfection and more about understanding the poses and transitions. Coming from my usual studio, the teaching style felt more formal. We were encouraged not to take water breaks out of respect for others' practice, which was challenging in the 108° heat but also pushed me to stay present and disciplined. The instructor was knowledgeable, calm, and easy to follow, guiding transitions clearly throughout. The space was clean and spacious, with dressing rooms, bathrooms, and secure cubbies. I also appreciated that they lock the doors during class. Nice touch that they provided a yoga towel for my mat plus two additional towels after check-in. Overall, a grounding experience that deepened my appreciation for the practice.

I never live close to a traditional ashtanga class, so when I find one, it's a must…read more This is cozy space that can comfortably fit ~15 people, and I took the led class. I absolutely loved it. The website notes to email them before showing up. It's likely because it is a small business and they just want to know your level of yoga before you get there. You arrive, sign in, and pay cash or Zelle. I love ashtanga not only because you get these amazing adjustments, but the flow of the class just transforms your body and mind, I don't have to think about anything. The instructor is well indeed trained certainly by the gurus. It was definitely a challenge for me having not done a traditional class in a long time. The studio was warm, and I definitely was quite sweaty in this class. It is not an overly heated class, but the practice itself warmed my body up. Every adjustment that I received allowed me to remember the shape and learn how it should really feel, and really how capable I am. They all just felt so good. I felt a little dehydrated before I got to class so I brought my water bottle in but traditionally you would not. I actually didn't take any sips during class-- I usually don't during any yoga class. They do offer props in class which I think is also unique for a ashtanga. Everyone has her limitations. Ashtanga is the yoga style where I feel like I need two blocks (for lift ups). Will be back every time I'm in town.
