I definitely wouldn't have stopped by this place on my own, but it turned out to be a great find,…read moreand I'm really glad my friends brought me here. We came because they said the pupusas were good, and it was one of the few spots that was open and nearby. The place itself is very small, with only a few tables and a limited number of staff. There were only 2 people there when we walked in. It's pretty casual, or at least the way my friends handled it seemed so. My friends said we could just seat ourselves if it's not too busy. My friends grabbed the menus as we picked a table. When we were ready to order, we just flagged down the waitress and ended up ordering quite a few items. Of course, we had to try a variety of pupusas: chicharrón, cheese and jalapeño, beans and cheese, and revueltas. We also got empanadas (de leche and de frijol), along with a few other dishes that I didn't catch, so I'm not entirely sure what everything was called. Once we placed our order, the food came out pretty quickly and the appetizers arrived first, followed shortly by the pupusas and entrées. The pupusas were all really good. I wouldn't say they were overly stuffed, but they were still delicious, served hot, and super filling... you could easily get full off one or two. I believe I ordered the carne fajitas (though I could be mistaken), which came with tortillas, steak, vegetables, beans and rice. It ended up being a really well-balanced meal. The meat was juicy and not as dry as I expected, especially given how it was cut and served. The vegetables added a nice crunch and a bit of freshness, which helped balance out what was otherwise a pretty carb-heavy meal, especially after sampling all the pupusas.

It took about 10 minutes to be seated, but over 30 minutes for food to arrive - and it came out in batches. We got one plate, then another 15 minutes later, and another after that. By the time we ate, the first food was cold, which bugged me since I don't like eating before everyone gets their food. The staff seemed a bit distracted, too. One server was chatting while we tried to get her attention for a drink refill. The food itself was just okay. The tamal wasn't great, and the pupusa tasted off, like reheated cheese. Maybe it was just an off day, but it didn't wow us."
