I also leave hand written instructions as he requests. Then I leave for vacation and then find out it's not really him who shows up to watch your pet. He has people that work for him. So you have someone you have never met with keys to your house. The owner does not explain this when you sign up, he makes it appear as if he is the one visiting. He brags about all his experience and training, but what does that matter when it's not him taking care of your pet. He was never upfront about this, clearly tries to hide this fact, as you should know who is watching your pet and has access to your home. In my detailed written instructions as well as explained in person, how often I needed my automatic feeders set. I need about 15 feeders set to last 24 hours. Instead his worker just left one dish of food out total, just one. No feeders set at all. The owner said the man didn't know what to do. So why did I write down instructions and have a meeting with the owner in person? I found this out because on my first day away, I turn on my pet video cam and I notice my pet had zero feeders setup. I called the owner at around 10 PM. He didn't answer and then texted back complaining that he does not take calls this late. I explain my pet was not fed all day, he says he will have to come the next morning. He doesn't think a pet getting any food was any reason to rush over and do his job. He also complained that I was "spying on him" even though the camera is right next to the pet dishes, had they used them they would have seen it. It is not hidden, Plus it's my apartment he is working in. Had I not had this camera, he would have gotten away with total neglect of my pet for a full week and who knows if she would have survived. That night I had to have my landlord come over and feed my pet, so she wouldn't go a full day without food. My landlord calls to inform me the pet butler employee did not even lock my front door. I again call the owner to complain and he denies this and accuses my landlord of lying. Never once apologizing for this or any other mistake. My landlord has no reason to lie about such a thing. Yet, he has every reason to try to cover this up. He put all my belongings at risk, locking a door seems a pretty important step to miss when you trust someone with your home. After that call, the owner agreed to take over from this other employee. He says he will come every morning to feed my pet. The third day I check my camera and no visit by 2PM, once again all day and afternoon without my pet being fed. I call the owner and he tells me to calm down, he will be there soon. My pet was not fed all day, even though I explained to him directly my pet has health issues and needs to be fed at specific intervals. He did not care at all, he starts getting very annoyed and talking down to me. He treated me like I was in the wrong but I can't do anything about it as I am 10 hours away. Finally, My pet is not supposed to have treats due to health reasons. I explained to him that I still give her one a day, because it makes her so happy. But I keep them in a rubbermaid container with locking side clamps so she cannot access it. On the day I come home, I find the totally empty treat container, outside of the rubbermaid sitting on the countertop. He clearly had left out the whole treat container unlocked, my cat got to it, ate about 12 ounces worth of treats total. He didn't even bother to tell me what happened. He knew she had health problems and never even cared enough to inform me about the mistake. My vet told me monitor my cat for 48 hours, he knew what happened because the rubbermaid container was locked again, he just chose to not care. If you care about your pets at all, do NOT use this service. Avoid it like the plague. He never once was apologetic, or compassionate, just rude and sarcastic as soon as soon as he got the job. Avoid!

I'm an older person who had an emergency situation with my 12 year old cat. I contacted the owner Angie and she returned my call promptly and immediately booked a ride to get my girl to the vet the next day. The the driver Don was very kind, amiable, and pleasant. He helped me to get my reluctant kitty into her carrier and was on time picking me up for the appointment. This service waits for you while your pet is being cared for and drives you home afterwards. I wanted to her to be in her own environment (I'm one of those people that view their dogs as part of the family and my husband and I like to refer to her as our "fur-baby", so yes, we are over protective dog-parents). All my friends who normally would have watched her- couldn't, due to the fact it was over Christmas and New Years- Panicking, I did a quick search on Yelp and found this place. I saw they have good reviews, so I emailed the owner, Meghan Gilliatt, and she emailed me back right away (um, amazing service!) She was able to answer all my questions and concerns. We set up a free consultation with the manager, Laurie. She came over to our house and right away we knew that the people who work here, love pets! Our dog immediately loved Laurie (after all dogs know right away if some one is a doggie-lover) We set up our doggies visits while we were away. While we were gone, the employees sent me text updates with pictures every day! They also fill out a daily visit "report card" so you know everything that went on for each visit. I loved that even though we were far away, our dog was happy in her own home and getting so much love! This is a fabulous company and they have so many options and services that really cater to your needs. I will be using them again! :D

This review is long overdue, because I love Detroit Walk a City so much! They have been walking my…read moredog for about 6 months now and I am so thankful for them. When we first started out, Teusdae, the owner, came to meet my dog and did a few walks with him one-on-one to assess his walking style, behavior, etc. He was then able to transition to buddy walks with Jill and other local dogs. Dobby LOVES Jill and gets so excited every time he sees her. Now he sometimes also does field trip walks where he gets to explore Belle Isle with a group of dogs Detroit Walk City will meet all your walking and pet sitting needs with flexible, reliable, and affordable services. But they go above and beyond that too - the staff are all wonderful and take awesome photos of the dogs on each walk. (See attached) They also have an app that tracks the walking route and if your dog went to the bathroom. Another great benefit is that walking with other dogs has really improved Dobby's behavior. He has been able to learn from other dogs he walks with and has gone from dragging me down the street to loose-leash walking next to me.
