Authentic Dominican food that has exceptional flavor and variety. The food is excellent and well portioned. I do recommend sharing. We got the platter Bandeja Puntacana that had a variety of meats with rice, beans and plantains. Good portion for 2. The side of yuca fries was a small and fed 3 people. The service was good. It took a little bit for the food but that's because it's literally made in the moment. The decor is very brilliant and colorful. They do not serve cocktails after a certain hour so we had beer with our meals. They seemed short on staff but it didn't matter, the food surpassed my expectations. I will be back!

Empanadas

Yummy food, friendly staff, delicious food. Def hot and muggy though just with ceiling fans running. Colorful decor with lots of fake plants all around both hanging from the ceiling as well as in the corners. We came here on a Monday afternoon and it was already pretty busy. We got seated pretty quickly. We ordered the empanadas which are huge and deep fried. My favorite and my daughter's favorite was the ground beef. The sauce it comes with was very nice. Would come again. I want to try the mofongo and the bandeja puntacana!

Delicious yet again!!! Another visit to a new favorite in Myrtle Beach!! This time it was for brunch! The fried whole red snapper was perfectly crispy! Hubby enjoyed the empanadas and we both liked the chicken one the best. We will always stop here when in town!

It was our last night of our trip to South Carolina and I wanted something good to eat. I Googled nearby restaurants and this place had a picture of a whole fried snapper, my favorite meal! The reviews were great all referencing the authenticity of the food. I was sold then. The restaurant was clean and the staff very welcoming. Our waiter was new but he was determined to get it right. I ordered the whole snapper, my friends ordered pork chops and fried pork chunks. Our meals came out nicely plated on wooden boards & it was piping hot. ALL of it was delicious! The rice, salad, and plantains were also on point. It was so good I asked for the cook to come out so I could pay her a compliment! If I had another night there I would have returned to try something else. My only suggestion would be to have someone a bit more fluent in English on staff to help out. If you're ever in Myrtle Beach check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Fried red snapper, rice, beans, and fried plantain

I live in Miami and I have had my fair share of a lot of the dishes on the menu at Punta Cana. Growing up in Myrtle Beach, I have tried a lot of the restaurants in the area but as I come back to visit relatives over the years I discover new restaurants that open. Punta Cana Bar and Grill is one of them. I will admit that I set the bar low on finding anything similar to restaurants in Miami when I ordered from here. But I was blown away when I received my order via Grubhub earlier today. I got the fried fish, with rice, beans, and a side of fried plantain. It was plated neatly, and still hot by the time it was delivered. The fish could have used a pinch more salt, but overall, for $27 I think it was a good portion: the fish and the plantain were fried perfectly. I definitely will be trying to order again from here before I return to Miami. But I am happy to know there is a taste of the Dominican here in Myrtle Beach whenever I am craving it.

Grilled salmon with rice and beans, salad, and fried plantains

Authentic Dominican food in Myrtle Beach. Casual environment, parking right outside, the food took a little long, but the staff was and food was good. I recommend the grilled salmon with rice and beans, salad, and fried plantains. The cocktails could have been better, but we really went to eat.

Authentic Dominican food. Friendly place with great service. Prices are reasonable. I had pollo a la braza and chicken wings with mango habernaro. I recommend this place.

Large mango juice

On vacation here in Myrtle Beach and through a search, found this Caribbean restaurant right nearby where we were staying. I was so excited to try this place as after moving out of NYC where restaurants like this are plentiful, I miss this so much. Punta Cana did not disappoint me at all. The worst thing I can say about my experience here was the rice. The rice was hard as it must've been sitting around for a while. The beans were very good; the beef empanadas were large & delicious; my skirt steak was large and seasoned perfectly. My wife ordered the baked chicken with the sweet bananas and enjoyed her dinner very much. I do have to say, Punta Cana gives you a meal worth every penny as we were unable to finish our food, a gigantic serving. Even the mango drink is H-U-G-E....

Shrimp and plantain appetizer

Friendly and kind face greeted us and was promptly brought our drinks. Food absolutely delicious.

Mofongo with Shrimp

We stopped in yesterday, 7/11/23 for dinner. The portions are large and the food was fresh and flavorful. Our table sampled, the Chicharron, the large fritura platter, mangu, white rice, and the mofongo with camarones. It was all delicious. Our big mistake was having ice cream prior to coming here, so some of our party were a bit full. I highly recommend.

The mofongo was a 2/10. Dry. Not enough garlic for my taste. The service was on island time, so expect it to take more time than it should.

They always run out of food. The food is not as authentic as I expected. A huge let down.

The Service was outstanding, Ny was very pleasant and helpful for our party of 9. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. They have a full bar with plenty of bar seating in addition to the table seating throughout the restaurant. I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed an Arepa, an Empanada and a side odder of Scrambled rice with black beans. The name "La Vinotinto" is inspired by the Venezuelan national soccer team, whose official uniform is famously known as "La Vinotinto" (The Burgundy). There is plenty of parking in a shared shopping center lot.

From the second we walked in, we felt the vibe -- super clean, beautifully decorated, and full of that energy that tells you "yeah, this place is gonna hit." The food? Legit authentic. Not that watered-down tourist stuff. Everything had real flavor -- like someone's abuela was back there blessing each plate. My mom said the seasoning reminded her of her aunt's cooking back in Puerto Rico -- and that's saying something, because her aunt doesn't play. Drinks were next level. I ordered a margarita and they brought me what looked like a whole bucket of joy. I literally said out loud "¡Papi, bring me another!" Vacation mode was fully activated. The staff? Super friendly, super cool. Spoke Spanish with us, cracked jokes, made us feel at home like we were regulars even though it was our first time. Beautiful spot, authentic food, great people, and good vibes all around. My parents are already talking about coming back next weekend -- and we live 4 hours away.
