El Rinconcito

The food is great, but make sure you know how to speak Spanish since there was not a single person there who knew English.. luckily, we survived with Google translate and some words of Spanish and got some great food. The plantains, as always, were our favorite..

Sopa de Res

Great pupusas and sopa de res. Carne asada tasted like it could've been good if the cut of steak were good. Sadly it was very fatty and gross. I'll give stars for everything else that was yummy.

The full order!!

I went here on my birthday and I wanted to try everything. This place is really good! If you have never had this kind of food this would be a great place to start however when you try something different you will be disappointed because this place is so good. The tables were so cute and colorful I loved how they had the name of different cities in El Salvador, very cute. The server was nice & the place was clean. Out of everything we ordered I would have to say the pupusa's would be when I go back for.I got the seafood soup and it was delicious. Fyi-This place is not serve alcohol and that is OK with me!!! Good for them!!!! It seems like a family business and I love that. I love supporting family owned small businesses. They have done and are doing a great job. Go ahead and try it!

Yummy cabbage!

I translated the name. The Salvadoran Corner. Not entirely accurate because El Rinconcito is smack in the middle of an unprepossessing shopping plaza. Might even could say it was ugly. No matter. Ugly shopping plaza means low rent. Low rent means more money to make good food without the pressure of having to turn over a bunch of tables all the time or having to make stupid faux margarita umbrella drinks. I could make a meal of just the pupusas alone. I probably should have. Tomato salsa and cabbage. I added liberal amounts of Valentina Picante Sauce too. Ordered french fries with mayo, ketchup, and parmesan on it for the table. That was ridiculous. But they didn't last long either. My tacos were brilliantly simple. Two chicken, two beef and just the meat please. Other people ordered other stuff and it was all so good we didn't even need alcohol to sing little songs to the ladies behind the flat top. They smiled shyly and pointed at me--probably just to point out where to shoot me if my singing got too bad. This ain't the North Myrtle Beach purple hippo Mexican place or the Barefoot Landing Taco Universe stuff or even the more slovenly Tex-Mex joints up and down the strand. Its just good, heartfelt Salvadoran food without much pretense at all. That's worth singing about, I think.

Came back to this restaurant on a return visit to Myrtle Beach. We still enjoyed everything we ordered. Has much of the same meals as last time. (Don't mess with a good thing). For some reason I didn't feel the pollo en crème was as good as last time. The cream was a bit thick and missing some flavor. The green sauce that came with the papusas was excellent and we asked for more to use as a salsa on our meals. We tried the guacamole. It came with chips. There was plenty of it. It and the chips were tasty. We also orders pico de gallo which was excellent. The service was especially bad this time. Very slow, no drink refills offered, and even brought some of the wrong stuff to our table. Toward the end of our meal, w Waldo heard an animal in the ceiling. That freaked out the whole group. Didn't sound small, possibly a raccoon or something. The meal itself was still excellent, but we will watch for other reviews about any pest problems and may check into that further before going back.

We just found this place recently. The food is very authentic and tastes great. Good size portions. Menus is not in English, but they have pictures and at least some of the staff speaks English. We will definitely go back. The Churrasco Salvadoreno is our favorite.

Milanesa de res

I had my heart set on eating here since it caught my eye as I was whizzing by on Rt 17, but MAN did they make it hard to get takeout. I tried calling multiple times. First, I got a busy signal for close to half an hour. Then when the phone finally rang, nobody answered. I almost gave up, but decided to just drive there and walk in. I ordered a papusa and the pollo encebollado. They were out of the chicken dish, so I ended up ordering the Milanesa de res, which is breaded fried steak served over rice. The food was good. It tasted very similar to my Cuban grandmother's bistec empanizado, but honestly it's not what I was hoping to eat. I really would like to come back under non-COVID circumstances and see if I can get the meal and service I was hoping for.

Carne asada, flautas, tamales and Seafood stew

This restaurant was one of the highlights of our recent trip to North Myrtle Beach. The food was very tasty, well made and prepared fresh which was a good contrast to the majority of restaurant options in the area. As Myrtle Beach is a big tourist destination there are mostly chain restaurants in the area. El Rinconcita Salvadoreno is a small local restaurant who can put together affordable and delicious food. We had the seafood stew which we highly highly recommend and also the Carne Asada which was very good as well. The flautas were light, crispy and tasty and the tamales were both tasty and filling.

Delicioso food! I really enjoyed the Loroco pupusas, chicken tamal and champurrado. I'll definitely recommend this place. Very authentic.

Stopped in to get pupusas for takeout. This place was jumping at lunchtime. Had to wait maybe 20 minutes, but totally worth it.
