The shaved ice was delicious and very refreshing. I ordered multiple syrups on mine which made it delicious but I had to add on a lot of upgrades. My husband ordered coconut with snow cap. His had a little bit of syrup put on it . His was very bland when we got to the middle . It was like eating plain shaved ice. read more

We love downtown Louisville. And every time we're there, we check out Punch Buggy. I love that they have vegan ice cream and shaved ice. My kids love tho get a combination of both. Although I was hesitant at first, it taste really good. They have so Many different flavors. I met the owners and they are so kind and sweet, and they care so much about the community! We love grabbing our desserts and sitting outside to watch the bikes go by and enjoy the music. read more

Its OK but not much different than many shaved ice places. Buggy has more options but - yeah, not such a huge deal unless you want to spend $10 on ice with flavored ice. I never lived in Hawaii, but have visited the islands over a dozen times. Punch Buggy has the most authentic shave ice I've found in Colorado. Compared to other local places, the ice is much more delicate, syrups are flavorful (not as artificial tasting), and the macadamia nut ice cream is really high quality. Don't be fooled by other vendors who claim to have shave ice but actually serve ground ice, reminiscent of the oldtime Sno-Cone sold at amusement parks. I've been to both locations in Louisville and Lafayette -- both are walk-ups -- but haven't tried the food truck yet. The product has always been spot on and the employees very friendly. I'm a little late in writing my review this year as they've closed for the season already, but I had to do it. This place has hands down the best shave ice I've ever had, even better than the places people rave about in Hawaii that I've been to. The regular size is huge and definitely shareable, so if you're not wanting a huge dessert and not sharing I'd recommend the keiki size. I love that they have dole whip as a base, and it's the good stuff not the knockoff stuff you find so many places. The flavors are awesome and way stronger than what I've found elsewhere (which is great), and they always are very generous with the snowcap on top. My go to is dole whip base, coconut/pineapple/punch buggy syrups, and add a snowcap on top (this is a must do, it's delicious). As far as seating, this is a walk up window but this summer they had plenty of tables and stools on the street right there to sit at. They do close for the winter season which has already happened this year and I'm so bummed about it. I can't recommend this place enough, when it opens next season I'll be there the first day. read more

We were in Hawaii recently and the shaved ice is the bomb! I like this shop since there is not the artificial colors. Hawaiian ice is still more flavorful. Maybe the islands pour it on more. Seriously tastes better than it looks but maybe I should've ordered flavors with more color haha. I was pleasantly surprised felt like a little taste of Maui here in Colorado all that's missing is that macadamian nut ice cream. There's definitely a difference between "shave ice" - the Hawaiian type that is beyond fantastic and "shaved ice" the North American hack at a chunk of ice variant. 99% of what you find on the continent is the hack at the chunk kind.
