If you have young kids, they will love this place. I don't know of any kid who doesn't lose their mind when they see bouncy houses, so it's a great way to let them have fun and tire them out. As someone who attended as a party guest, it was great that we had the place to ourselves. The downside is that many of the employees don't seem particularly interested in their jobs. The guy who was in charge of our party was tasked with taking some pics to put in a slideshow later on, and the quality of pics were subpar. Mostly blurry, some kids' bodies were cut out, and to make things worse, the actual TV screen where the slideshow was being played had huge black spots that interfered with the pictures themselves. Overall, this guy didn't seem to make much effort to do a good job. When he passed around pizza and cupcakes, his attitude was just one of 'I can't believe this is my job.' Granted, he had some help from another employee, and she definitely seemed to take her job seriously and wanted to make sure kids were having a good time. Hire more people like her! read more

This play place is every kids dream. While most of my mom friends who's kids go to different schools have all had at least one birthday party here a month it seems, we didn't get to any parties here until a few months ago. Did this place live up to the hype? YES! This place is bounce house heaven. It sort of reminds me of Wipe Out for little kids. Bounce house to play basketball, bounce house with large bouncy balls to jump on, large bounce house slide attached to bounce house. The second room that they have that I like to call the Glow Room was pretty amaze. Every kid gets a glow stick necklace (low key LoJack for your kid) and everything glows in the dark. I loved it! Perfect to chat with your friends or just veg out while your kids go crazy. They have several obstacle course like bounce houses here, including a huge slide and a rock climbing wall. Cake and food is after play but by that time everyone's pretty starving. My daughter will have at least two parties here for herself in the future. Totally dig this place! read more

Staff was great, super friendly and competent. Overall experience is good but can easily be overshadowed by the owner Mustaq, not friendly or competent. Guy shouldn't be anywhere near kids. He doesn't have any manners and acts like he's on a farm, (no offense to actual farmers). He will nickel and dime you for every little thing even when you just dropped $900 for 2 hours. Disgusting and rude owner. Very very disrespectful and could care less about his customers and what they are going through. This is the first time I'm experiencing something like this. I don't usually give reviews bad or good but this man crossed the line. I recommend you think twice before you book this place. God forbid you have an unfortunate event and need to cancel AHEAD of time. He doesn't even listen to you, hangs up the phone and when you call back the phone is disconnected. Here as a birthday party guest and it was just average. I have been to several pump it ups across California and in Texas. This was the smallest and most basic I have ever seen. Missed the music, bubble machine, ample parking and a few other things i'm use to. The kids had fun so that's really what matters. Reviews about things being old, broken and hot are accurate. The party room is tight. Again I was a guest not a host but for the price I would expect a little bit more. read more

They only have inflatables which is pretty cool. The rock climbing thing was pretty fun for the kids. Parents can wear shoes as long as they dont go on the inflatables. Has own parking. Cool part is you get 40mins in one room then switch to another room for 40 mins then eat for 40 mins. This is a better system than spending 1 and a half hrs in one room where it can get stale. Only negatives is that you have to pay to play air hockey and the mini rides inside the room which is pretty whack. If you rent the room everything should be included. No mirrors in the bathroom. I had my sons birthday party at this place and regretted so much, customer service lacks, no one comes to check up on to your party, you have to go look for them if you need something. You literally get " papa johns pizza" in this room that looks like a break room , the "arenas" as they call them are ridiculously small and their so called "glow party" is a joke, kids literally get a glow in the dark necklace to play in a room with the lights off ! I had my son's 6th birthday party there last weekend. The kids had fun, but overall, I wouldn't recommend it. When you book the party, they send you an email saying someone will reach out to help plan your party. No one reached out to me for 3 weeks. So finally I called them, and the person I spoke with said someone would call me the Monday of the week of my party. Um, thanks for the planning in advance. Then when the party girl called, she left a voicemail and spoke so fast that I couldn't understand what she said. When I called her back, she was asking questions about how much food I wanted to order but instead of just jumping into questions, I was expecting her to advise me on what to do. She didn't seem very interested in this job, anytime she spoke it sounded like she was just reading me a script as fast as she could, and she didn't care less about helping me plan my party. She offered no help whatsoever. When the party was going on, I was assigned two people who were there to "help me". They set up the party room, but anytime I went looking for them, they were literally laying down on tables in the back room, the girl was practically sleeping. Not once did they come to me and ask if everything was going OK or if I needed anything. I had paid for the photo package, but the party room they set me up in had a broken TV so we weren't able to see the photos during the party. They comped it for me, as they should have, but it was very disappointing to find out we couldn't see the pictures until it was time to go in that room and I asked them about the TV. My son had been to a party there before and was looking forward to that, so it was disappointing. I also brought a CD to play specific music while we were there but... guess what...the CD player was broken too. This place is so run down, I'd be embarrassed if I was them. Then, at the end, they had the nerve to hand me a receipt that shows how much to tip them, with 10%, 15% and 20% options. Uh, yah, not gonna tip too high since they barely did anything. I tipped as I'm a nice person, but they certainly didn't earn a 20% tip on a $800 party! I've planned my son's parties at other indoor playgrounds in the area through the years, and all the other party places had much better service and communication than Pump It Up Van Nuys. We will NEVER be back to this location. I suggest the owner of the place book a fake party and see the horrible customer service their employees offer to guests. Oh, and also, their email invitation system sucks. I tested it by sending emails to my husband and myself, and only I received it, not him. Thanks for ruining my child's bday Booked a party at 10am. Then CALLED to change it to 140pm. Months ago. Spoke to a real person. Called back to confirm even. I go check the week before- oh turns out my reservation is at 140 AM. Because a 6 year old wants to party in the middle of the night. Also apparently it's my fault for not checking my email closely enough. why would I even assume a 140am party?! That doesn't make any sense. Manager was absolutely no help. My only option is a discount at a different time slot or different day. None of which works with one week to go to the party. Very easy and professional booking process via online and the week of party front desk hostess called to confirm and build food choices etc. on our package choice. The hostess answered all my questions patiently and thorough. (First time there and having a birthday party for my sons party so def had a lot of questions) lol The 2 hostess provided on party were phenomenal they loaded & unloaded all party supplies, set up decor n clean up decorations we provided. They kept the flow of the event going from room to room and then our final party room with food n drinks. The kids had so much fun, including parents on the inflatables. Bathrooms were easily accessible and clean as well as the lobby area clean with accessible hand sanitizer. Awesome, awesome, awesome place to have ur childs birthday party. Indoor bounce houses are relative to what you've been to before. I will say we went to Scooters Jungle a few weeks before so I am comparing Pump It Up to that. I like the intro video, but one thing is false: employees don't stick around inside rooms for help. The idea of switching to two different rooms is cool and although the black light room is cool, it's also dangerous. The games inside the first room you had to pay for (included at Scooters Jungle). These places are money making machines on the weekends if done right. I thought it could have been a bit cleaner and kept up. Food is about the same at all these types of places. Not bad, but I'd say this location is par for the course. read more

I wish I read the reviews before booking this place for my son's birthday ! First of all The owner of this place is insanely rude ! He called me 2 days before the party screaming at me and threatening me to cancel my party , just because I asked his assistant if I can add a tray of kosher food for my kosher guests !! I got their ultimate party plan which was the most expensive one , they gave me the minimum basic! The party character showed up for 5 min , the glow room we had for less than 5 min and they turned on the lights ! We had absolutely no assistance in any of the rooms , and everything I just typed were included in my ultimate plan !!! If zero stars where available they surely take it. They have been holding to deposits (since when covid started). Numerous calls and not one single one returned. Kept calling and I told the representative I wouldn't want to continue with my booking per covid safety measures. They offered a later date, which was fine but a the date got closer and i didn't hear back from the "party planner" who was supposed to contact me I called. I was then told they were going to be closing. I expressed once again I would want my deposit back as per an health emergency I would not be booking and it would be unsure of when this covid (which is still around) will pass. Pump it up -Van Nuys rep took my info down and again I was supposed to be called back "to arrange my deposit pickup". No one ever called of course but instead a few days ago I received an email about a booking cancellation for Dec 2022??? I never did nor authorized. I called the venue and the owner was absolutely disrespectful, careless. He said let me take your number (oh I know how that goes) so sure thing I gave it to him and shortly after I asked him can you repeat my number I just gave you? Ha!! Who do you thing your dealing with here?! Of course! He didn't know what to say, and he raises his voice exclaiming "I'm gonna hang up" And did. Completely pathetically incompetent Mr M! We attended a birthday party here and it's literally a sensory overload. The kids seemed to really enjoy it, though, especially when they turned out the lights and had the black lights and lasers going in the massive bounce rooms. The reason for the dissatisfaction comes out of several incidents: 1) The cheapness and poor customer service of the front desk staff. We tried to play one of the 75 cent air hockey tables and after putting money in, it didn't work. It hadn't been plugged in, and when we asked a staff guy working there, he said the front desk staff would refund us. When I went to ask the staff for a refund, they argued that they "didn't own the machines" and didn't "have any quarters" to refund me with. Needless to say this petty slight put a damper on the rest of the visit. The original staff guy apologized, saying he was "new." Guess they didn't train him on cheapness yet. 2) Disorganization. Before the food room was ready we had to wait around for ten minutes with the kids while they got the room ready. Couldn't they have at least allowed them to bounce more instead of waiting around bored? When we finally got in, the drinks weren't ready either. 3) Cleanliness. We noticed the floor in the food room was pretty sticky. Maybe 10 minutes to clean up the previous party wasn't enough time with the short staff they had that day? read more

We had my sons birthday party at this location. The staff was great but we were given a product that we didn't ask for, glow party. The day of the party all of our guest came into the glow room and to our surprise the Air condition was broken. When brought up to the staff they told us this issue happen the day before, it would've been nice for someone to call and let us know. Then when we went to pay for the party they "took off the glow party" the check. Why would they need to take something off if we didn't ask for it or agree upon it? When I spoke with the manager about this issue he was very rude, and defensive about the whole situation and hung up the phone. Bottom line place is fun, kids had a good time in the first room, but beware of what they add on to your booking and hopefully you won't have to deal with the manager. Good luck read more

This is our second time throwing a party at this location. With all the covid restrictions and guidelines, the owner did his best to provide a wonderful experience. He answered all questions and was attentive when we were waiting for our party time to begin. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They did their best to accommodate and always were communicating with us about the time and what to expect next. We had a great time and the teen boys had a memorable experience. I would have given this place a 4star but the young black female with long hair that was attending us in unit-B at 1:30pm was so serious. It was way to obvious that she hates her job. She walked around with a pist-off look. Not once did I see her smile. When you work around children and especially in an environment that's related to customer service you would expect a smile. She is definitely in the wrong field of work. Would have loved to have my kids party here. Went to my favorite three-year old's birthday today at this location and had a blast. He party was two hours and started off in one room of four bouncy houses and then continued in a glow room (where the lights are turned off and neon lights and trinkets are passed around to the kids). The lighting is enough in this room to see all the kids. Luckily, I wore my special neon yellow jeans so my legs served as basically two giant glow sticks. I was like a buoy in the sea of kids and crazy-print carpet. After the kids pooped themselves out of the bounce houses and slides and climbing walls (adults can play too!!), the kids were served pizza drinks and cakes. I was very impressed by the staff. There was a young man who seemed to be in charge of the party and made sure everyone had what they needed. They were pretty seamless with the movement of the kids and they brought out all the presents and leftovers nicely packed to the birthday boy's parents' car. The parents were pleased with the party, too. I would recommend this location for a kids party for kids ages 3-7 and for Peter Pan parents as well! fun spot!! read more

My one complaint was that we were not allowed to bring food of our choice to the facility. They were SUPER strict in regards to this.
