Going to urgent care can already be stressful, and this experience made me feel even worse. I expected kindness and compassion, and instead I left feeling dismissed and unimportant. I honestly left here feeling really upset. From the moment I walked in, no one greeted me or even acknowledged me. I didn't feel welcomed at all. The staff felt cold and standoffish, and no one took the time to explain anything to me. Skimmed thru some of these other reviews, not quite sure what goes through the minds of folks. From walking in nurse came to front window out of her role assisted me with the proper paperwork. While I waited for the receptionist to return this expedited my wait time. Receptionist returned completed my check in process quickly and within minutes I was sitting with Dr Matt. His immediate care for what I was going through was clear. If ever another emergency visit is needed I'll return to this location. Office is clean and spacious, full of light. There is no reason to book an appointment.  Booked the earliest appointment for opening time and waited over one hour to be seen.  The receptionist says "we don't take appointments." So what's the point of make an appointment on SOLv and doing all of the paperwork ahead of time when everyone (appointment or not) walks in and has to wait.  Wish I knew this before. Would have gone somewhere else. This was absolutely obnoxious. Once waiting for over an hour, the bedside manner of the PA was rude, unprofessional and pushed off. Once more into the hellhole. Years later, they have not got their shit together yet. When you walk in, you have to ANNOUNCE your ailment to a crowded waiting room. That has to be a HIPAA violation, right? The walls in the exam rooms are so thin that you can hear every detail of everyone else's private problems as well. One guy clearly had Covid, and was there for Covid-related problems, which everyone knew because everyone was in such close quarters. They just had him wandering around the waiting room, spreading it, instead of isolating him. Now it's just a waiting game to see if we've got it. This place is the absolute last place to go if you have a problem. You'll end up worse off. This place needs to be closed down and replaced, immediately, for the good of Poughkeepsie. read more

Asked for a flu, Covid, RSV test she had a fever vomitting etc. the doctor came in said not necessary his ears could hear she just had post nasal and sent us on our way. I asked if he was gonna listen to her chest or anything he looked at me surprised, he didn't do anything. Took her to her regular doctor the next day she had influenza A. The wait isn't bad to be seen by a doctor/np. The service is. I've never seen such incompetence. First the work note I was given was to return to work the same day which made no sense with my diagnosis. Tried calling to correct it and nobody EVER answers the phone. Went in and had the note corrected after waiting for 30 minutes. Then, prescription was never called in. Went back again the next day and waited again close to 30 minutes just to talk someone. I wish I could give this place negative stars for the joke service they gave us. Completely empty waiting room and we wait while I hear everyone in the back room laughing. After paying $125 for services the clerk couldn't even describe I asked what it would cost for blood work. All I got was an extra $25 fee and no actual cost for tests. Afterwards they let my wife go with a friggin post it note telling us to go do tests at a lab across the street which wasn't even open. Was there a year ago and the doctor was wonderful so this review is specific to my recent visit a few days ago. From the start the receptionist was curt but when I had questions re: my primary and secondary insurance she became impatient as if I was stupid for asking the question. Had to laugh inside as to why she was the first person customers meet going in.The nurse that did my blood pressure was nice and efficient. The Dr. who met me, a young women in maybe her thirties, was mildly hostile from the start but after I asked if my test for Covid was positive could she prescribe Paxlovid, it didnt go over well. I told her the FDA now has approved the use of Paxlovid before a positive Covid test because you need to take it within a few days. She raised her voice and said you come in here demanding things, we don't give Paxlovid. I asked her why and she said its often not safe and raised her voice more. Nice! Anyway, I thanked her and left. They never called regarding my tests results so I tried to go on the portal which didn't work. All in all not a great group working there . Maybe it was a bad day but I would try elsewhere. I'm thinking people come in often very sick, stressed, and hoping for some resolution. Treat them as important. So i went there today, and had a terrible and lengthy experience and they sent me a link to fill out an internal survey: i was so dissatisfied with the service that I left a scolding review that including hyperbole rhetoric that could be interpreted as either very inappropriate or perhaps humorous. Well an hour later I got a phone call from someone who than threatened me, repeatedly asked my exact whereabouts, he proceeded to read aloud the personal information i had given for the appointment, he threatened to me to combat, and at one point in time pretended to be a cop local to the township listed as my address, and at another time pretended that his brother was the cop and he knew all kinds of cops that lived in my town. He kept shouting where are you, where are you, and told me he was sending someone over. I told him to feel free too, i had done nothing wrong. He called me a total of 3 times. Well, I looked his number up, 914-984-7320, and it turns out he called from a Pulse MD urgent care in Thornwood NY, 60 miles south, this obviously revealed his claim to be a police officer was a complete fiction. ADDED NOTE: Also, when i was there and spoke to the doctor, he told me a bold faced lie- that it was a requirement by New York state law to get an additional PCR test if you are getting a rapid test. I've been to this location (unfortunately) a few times very recently due to have a couple bouts of the cold and such. Each time I have been here, I've been met with the utmost respect and kindness. I have witnessed on multiple occasions individuals who have been rude and nasty to the staff and the staff has been nothing but patient and kind towards these people. While I understand that COVID has an impact on clinics and affects wait times, Pulse has had me waiting for two hours now to be seen for my sore throat and chest pain. I am used to waiting at urgent cares, but what really upset me was when I received a phone call to finally come in after waiting outside for half an hour, only to stand in the lobby for ten minutes with no nurse there to take me back. When the receptionist finally noticed that I was awkwardly standing at the front, she acted really confused, claimed that no nurse called me and told me to go back outside. I found myself there today after a slip with a hand tool and put a nasty gash on my forearm that needed 7 stitches, this place was recommended to me by a friend, and I have to say I was impressed with the speed and quality I got, Dr Donna a former combat trauma nurse was amazing and more than equipped to handle this injury. Shout out to the guy running the Covid tests outside! I went to this location for a test on Friday afternoon and was extremely nervous about having something shoved up my nose but the guy was extremely welcoming and professional and put me at ease. It was a rapid test also so I got my results in 15 minutes! I'm really happy this testing is available here. It flowed very well too. I was seen on January 1st 2024 for an upper respiratory infection and tested for COVID which was sent out to a lab (Quest). My place of employment requires a PCR to be able to return to work. However, after 3 days the results were not received. I have checked the patient portal and also Quest's patient portal several times without any resolve. I have made several calls to Pulse MD and left on hold at an average of 30 minutes each day after the 3rd day. It has been now been 7 days and nothing. If I was positive for COVID my employer would have covered my sick time, but without the results I need to use my own sick time. Quest's portal shows that a specimen is not in process which tells me someone made a huge mistake and not owning up to it. I called Pulse MD again today 1/8/24 and left on hold again, this time for 1 hour . I realize that this is the peak of respiratory illnesses, but someone should have gotten back to me with an answer. I went to pulse emergency at 5pm with an elbow injury. The lady with the glasses, behind the window, NEVER acknowledged me, , while I waited at the sign, before being called to the window.....finally, after about 10 minutes, I was called to window. I was told it was around an hour and a half wait, and she would send me a link to register online, and I could return around 7pm, since X-rays are not performed after 7:30pm. I did this, returned at 6:40pm, again waiting by the door, for more than 10 minutes, with people behind me, extending out the entry door, while a patient stayed on the phone, at the window, and was not told to step aside, so others could be helped. The line behind me was getting irate, at the lack of professionalism, no one being acknowledged, and the patient continuing to talk on the phone at the window. Then, the lady behind the window announced that they were at capacity for injuries. I went up, and told her she told me to register and come back at 7pm. I wouldn't recommend this urgent care to anyone unless it was a dire emergency with no where else to go. The only reason I went is to get an X-ray of my finger, I made an appointment at 12:15. I was seen here on October 2022 and placed in a exam room. I was seen by someone initially who was nice but did not state her name and did not state her title. I was seen next by a NP (who did state her name) she talked to me with her hands in her pockets the whole time and did not assess me. There was absolutely no physical examination but I'm sure they will fraudulently bill my insurance with an 11 system note. Establishments like this fail to realize that some patients are actually medical providers and you never know who your patient is. I am reporting this to my insurance company and will consider reporting it to the appropriate regulatory body next. My husband was recently injured at work. We visited Pulse-MD. We were seen within 10 minutes from completing the paperwork. Asim the X-ray tech was also the person that took my husband's information and checked his vitals. Shortly after, Donna Cisek, the Physicians Assistant came in to examine my husband. She was very thorough and referred him for further care. They were both very caring. Thanks to them he is on the road to recovery. She deserves reconciliation for actually knowing what being a professional kind nurse should be! Um no I had to CORRECT HER ! To tell her who the patient was ! Fine I get mistakes but clearly she didn't like being corrected ! She was rude from the moment on ! She tells me "obviously I wasn't here on Sunday so idk what her ear looked like before!" I'm sure I can know that she wouldn't know what her ear looked like before since she wasn't the one that we saw on Sunday. Which that NP was LOVELY, moving on to the rest of the visit doesn't get any better, Patricia asked me what medicine my daughter was on I mistakenly say a different medication because my daughter has had so many ear infections we have tried few different medications. So I said I'm sorry I believe she is on amoxicillin can you please just double check I'm not sure if she took that as being rude but since she didn't know who she was walking into I wanted to make sure she would prescribe it to the right person not trying to be rude but this is my 2 year old little girl. She then paused looked at me for 2 seconds with a blank stare like I said something appalling and then said "yes I will double check what med and switch it to what one she was on before" saying it in such a condescending way. I'm sorry I'm human and I forgot exactly what medication it was when being a "doctor or provider" you should know before going into a room so YOU YOURSELF Don't look dumb. Then HA ! i got a really bad splinter in my finger. it was too deep and hurt really bad so i decided to go to urgent care. i did a quick yelp and led me to pulse md urgent care. the wait time wasn't horrible. there was only 1 person ahead of me in the waiting room. i was waiting to be seen by a nurse practitioner that maybe took like 20 mins.. 25 at most i was triaged by a nurse jamie f.. she was awesome. got quick vitals and the nurse practitioner (anna) came soon after to give me a digital block and take the splinter out. i was scared of the pain and first refused the block but after trying to get the splinter out.. i decided to man up and get the block. the nurse and NP got me through it.... thank goodness cuz my finger was numb! anna got the splinter out and sutured me up... i know i was a horrible patient but i feel so much better now that the splinter is out. i would recommend this urgent care. read more

I took my husband there on Monday because his primary doctor just closed. We walked in and was told that he needed a smart phone to fill out the form. We informed the person at the front that he does not have a smart phone and mine was left home so is there paper forms we can fill out. She informed us that they have to be filled out through the link sent to your phone and there's no other way to do it. They said we have to go somewhere else because he doesn't have a smartphone to fill out the forms. read more

I had my child come in due to a broken/fractured wrist. They took an x ray, and the radiologist could not tell whether or not his wrist was broken. The doctor placed a splint on his wrist, and sent us on our Merry way. The doctor did not bother to send us a script. I called to follow up today, asking for a script for my child. He is in severe pain. The doctor has the gall to tell me that they do not prescribe narcotics. When I mentioned that they were an urgent care and that that does not make sense, the doctor told me that he will send Tylenol and ibuprofen. He tried to tell me that those 2 drugs were equivalent to Vicodin. Of course, he had no idea that I have 11 years worth of pharmacy experience. So NO, Tylenol and Ibuprofen are NOT equivalent to Vicodin. I am disgusted with the level of laziness and unproffesionalism in this practice. I find it sad that my child and I were being profiled, and that is why were not treated with the level of care we deserve and needed. Not only am I out of money, but my child is still in pain. I was very sick and went to pulse 3 days after a different urgent care, due to not getting better. The receptionist was not very caring and was short with me when I went in the room, the nurse was also uncaring. I brought all meds given from prior urgent care, she only wrote one down (I put in computer).. Stated I Haven't given meds enough time.i said getting worse Not better. I put my right arm out for my BP, she said we like the left arm, WHY DO YOU WANT THE RIGHT ARM? I explained I had 2 breast surgeries in the left due to cancer and node removal. I had the unfortunate fate of stopping into this facility around the beginning of December for an urgent matter. I was attended to by the P.A and staff whom, I must admit where very attentive, albeit I was the only one there at the time. The problem is I paid $130 upfront for an office visit and then weeks later I was hit with additional charges of $300.00. A month after receiving service I was presented with an unauthorize charge on my check card. They retained my check card information, and made charges of course without my consent. They want to play these games I'm the right one. They have a week from today to resolve this issue and then I will take action and it will cost them far more than what they have charged me.Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. I have been trying from 9 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. to call and get through to someone so that I could schedule an appointment for an employment drug test. I only have a few days to do this and nobody answers the phone. I sit on hold listening to the same ring and recording for 30 - 45 minutes before I hang up and try again. This is completely unacceptable that nobody answers the phone for Poughkeepsie or Wappingers. I can't even get a regular appointment to do my drug test. read more

Horrible, I was treated poorly and belittled. As soon as the doctor walked in she declared what time it was, and her attitude showed that she clearly wanted to leave. She didn't want to run a strep or mono test because it would take some time. Then she said she could put me on antibiotics because I most likely had strep. Then she told me I should call my pediatrician tomorrow because she didn't seem to want to do anything to help me. In the end I went home with swollen lymph nodes a sore throat and a horrible experience. The whole time I was there she gave me impatience, attitude, rudeness, lack of caring, and the sense that she would rather be some place else.
