Savannah is full of so much history and a huge part of that history is tied to the numerous squares that are located through out the historic district. Each one has it's own historic meaning. A little about Pulaski Square:
At the intersection of Barnard and West Macon streets, between West Harris and West Charlton streets, you'll find Pulaski Square, one of the later developed squares which was part of the grid expansion of General Oglethorpe's city plan. It was designed in 1837 and named after Polish General Casimir Pulaski, an 18th century freedom fighter who was killed during the Siege of Savannah. read more
