This playground was awesome! Super unique and very clean! The whole park is gated which is super nice for parents. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

This brand new playground is just a walk away from the famous Hilton Head Island's Coligny-area beach park. Tons of parking located off Pope Avenue with cameras everywhere for a safe experience. Also has free WiFi. There's a stunning children's playground. It was built in the form of a ship, and is named "The Adventure" playground. The playground is named for the vessel that explorer Capt. William Hilton used to travel to Hilton Head Island in 1663. He sailed the Adventure from Barbados to explore new lands and named Hilton Head after a headland near the entrance to Port Royal Sound, according to the town. The park also features a lagoon, boardwalks with educational signs, The Sandbox Children's Museum, restrooms, an outdoor event space and a water splash area in the summer. A new traffic light at Lagoon Road has been installed to help get people into the park and the Coligny Beach parking lot. Best part for me was the super squishy rubber flooring surrounding the playground.

Water play, sand pits, and a giant pirate ship! What's not to love? Plus it has big gates to keep the kiddos in.

They had a wonderful time playing on the ship and spritzing themselves with mist from the cannons.

This beach was like no other beach I had been to. Being the…read moreexplorative individual I am, I stumbled upon this beach which I thought would be a perfect spot to spend my birthday exploring. Urghhh not so much...!!!! This place is located in a residential area and I drive around on a unbusy Monday being a work day but, it still took me like 30mins to try to find a park just to enjoy the beach. I was thinking I did t make a good choice for a beach day. Anywho finally after spotting a person pull out from a street parking spot, finally I was able to park. Next venture i had to figure out was how to get to the beach now. Because of road blocks, I ended up having to ask 2 men at a hotel and they directed me which way to go. At this point, I'm starting to feel defeated but, I'm determined. At least, close to an hour later...I see the beach. It did had a water sprouting from the ground, a few swings for couples so nice landscaping. Then there was the beach, sadly it was not at all what I had expected as the water was muddy looking. Also the sand-flies were aggressive & everywhere. I sat on a boat for a few minutes checking out the view but, honestly on this day it was not much to enjoy beside the wedding that was about to take place. After only 10mins sitting, the sand-flies won! I left the beach and walked around and went through a restaurant which I noticed a lovely pool and a Tiki Bar next door. So thought I would grab a cocktail to start celebrating my birthday to but, not before getting bite 5-6 times by the very aggressive sand-flies. Warned: The beach does not offer the most easiest access to get to. I would have preferred going to Orange Beach in AL so, for this reason instead of staying the 2 nights I planned on staying...it would t have been worth the money. I only stayed in Hilton Head 1 night!!!!!!! Please put up signage so, people know where to PARK and BEACH ENTRANCE SIGNAGE so, 1st timers will not be defeated in trying to go to the correct area of the beach. It's not fun feeling like you're in a maze when visiting somewhere new.

Foggy day at the beach…read more Tide is going out slowly. Even with limited view, the beach was fun.
