So I am just going to share how the locals "care for their locals" in Summit County.
I LUV
it up here in Summit County because people are friendly and people are laid-back and I am close to every city and every little small town that I want to be associated with. But the fact of the matter lies in that the locals who work certain businesses up here as in "Pug Ryan's" and a few others I won't mention, "yet", like to get out at closing time UNLESS you are "known" so if you're not a particular local that they may happen to know then you'll be treated like a vagabond.
For instance.......I was away for the weekend and I came home at a late hour as in 10PM. OMG so late!!! Right? ........I go to have a beer at Pug Ryan's and obviously everyone is scrambling to get the hell out of there for the night, as in staff. There are a few locals hanging around as usual
and I merely want to have one beer before I head home because it's good to be home, so I order "ONE" beer and I mean "ONE BEER!" and before my beer is half gone they literally are telling me to chug my beer and get out! Literally escorting me out the door treating me as if I am a drunk who needs to be escorted out the door! Obviously I am not someone in their "clique". When I asked about the other people in the bar ordering drinks, JESSE the waitress says to me, this guy can stay because he works here but no offense, you don't so you need to leave, as the young bartender BEN reached to literally grab my beer from my hand. Unbelievable! So I say I paid for this beer and I'm not chugging it! The waitress says to the bartender as if I can't hear, "I think we need to escort her out" I was like wth?!?!Im dreaming right? So I say, I LIVE HERE! And I PAID for this beer! Ben pipes up and says "now I'm pissed, you need to leave!" Knowing they've lost their nimble minds, I ask for my money back $9 and some change after tax. So Ben reaches his angry hand into the tip jar and throws $3 on the bar and says "get the f*ck out" Again I am baffled and angered at the treatment over one beer and the time it took me to drink it. So basically you can purchase a beer, spend your money on a meal close to closing time but you better inhale it and get the hell out or they will escort you out!!! While a group sits in the corner taking shots. Typical Summit County. Are you freaking kidding me!!!!????? I LIVE HERE!!!! I spend hard earned money to live here and support my community. This is far from the hospitality any person deserves up here, ESPECIALLY a local! Sorry I'm not a "regular" and you just lost yourself several potentials. Is this not your job!?!?!?!?!?! Customer service!? This is the major problem up here in Summit County which I am not OK with. I pay a huge amount of money to rent up here to be a part of the local community but just because I am not a part of the "click" of Pug Ryan's or many others, don't treat me like I'm a stranger in my own town. If YOU serve me a beer or food at 10:45 PM and you close at 11 DO NOT rush me out the door and accuse me of being out of control or obnoxious while your the one being rude and irrate and reaching for my glass. Seriously??? That will get you nowhere that will only get you bad reviews for what you deserve so I would say to anyone seeing this post, DO NOT go to Pug Ryan's! Not everyone who is a local "lives" at these bars but we are still locals and deserve to be treated as such. If you want to work at a customer service venue requiring little personality and want to close exactly at 5 o'clock and not serve or be kind to those who are not yet finished with their meal or drinks when you close maybe you should work at McDonald's. read more
