I thought this place would be pretty cool for my daughter who is interested in art. I bought some package (expensive) offered with the expectations that she go to class every week. Unfortunately, I had more days when I had to console a crying daughter whose art class was cancelled that day (with no notice), than I had at the studio. All because the business owner is too absent minded to be able to keep a schedule. When I complained, the girl at the front desk looked down at her feet and just mumbled some excuse. Keren Brown, the owner of Mondaes, has been awful with us and to us. She refers to herself as a business wizard, even boasting that she'll teach others, for a price, on how they can grow their own business. Visit any of her Instagram posts and you'll see her singing her own praises over and over. But in my opinion, she's an awful business person. Not only have my experiences with her been overwhelmingly substandard, but I'd personally witnessed her be downright unprofessional, nasty, accusatory, with others, going so far as to lie to someone's face repeatedly. She's lied to my daughter and I, she's lied to other students, she's lied to her staff, she's lied to potential customers. You may ask, why I had continued to return to Mondaes. Why would I give my thousands of dollars to them? The answer is I love the hobby and I cherish the friendships I've made. The fellow students I've encountered have helped create a fun community, something I looked forward to every week. Combine that with the excellent education that Pam and Dave were providing, and it made it worth dealing with the unprofessional Keren. Multiple times Keren asked me if I wanted to invest in Mondaes, the last time via email. Previously, she had asked in person and once had called my home. I asked her for a Profit and Loss statement. I can't imagine investing in anything without knowing where the business stood financially. She said the last year's numbers wouldn't look good because things had been slow. Keren said she would get me the statement, and then failed to provide it at all. Without that statement, I needed to do some research so I could formulate an educated answer should she present the question to me again. I found information doing a "Liens Search" at Idaho.gov. I researched Keren Brown, Mondaes MakerSpace and Puffy Mondaes, the two business names Keren used. She changed from Puffy Mondaes a handful of years back for what, a "fresh start" dodging creditors, liens and responsibilities? Same business, same owner, same space, same stock...just changed the name. Last I checked, there were over 59 liens against Keren, some of them open, some of the closed, many of them new, most of them not very old. The latest was as recent as 5/15/25. Liens are primarily for non-payment of loans and taxes, but most disturbing is her non-payment of her staff. Back in 2023 I learned of an employee that had to go to the Labor Board to get paid wages that were way overdue. That employee eventually quit Mondaes. In 2024, I learned of other employees not getting paid. In 2025, Keren lost five employees, including Pam, Dave, Daisy, Muriel and Jasmine, supposedly due to nonpayment of wages. One may ask themselves, how do I know all that? Keren talks a lot, and she's loud, there are hard floors and sounds carry. Oh yeah, there's also a lien against her from the Labor Board and the police have also been into Mondaes numerous times to serve legal papers, including multiple for non-payment of rent. On the note of non-payment of rent, Mondaes tends to move unexpectedly, before leases are complete. Very reminiscent of dine-and-dash. Combine all these factors, she lost her best asset in teacher Pam Main, she was holding classes that were overbooked for the equipment available, gave disjointed commentary, lacked level-appropriate curriculum that was underwhelming at best, I knew I couldn't stay any longer. She was incredibly rude to myself, some of my fellow classmates and other customers. She lied to me, to other students, and to other customers. And lastly, I'd been there on more than one occasion when the police had been in to serve her legal papers. Aside from the community of fellow potters, there was no reason to return to Mondaes. For many of us, spending our hard earned money at a business that was so bad at business, so dismissive to the community, didn't make sense, so many of us aren't returning. read more

Mondaes is always my first choice for craft supplies. They have a wonderful selection and the staff is always helpful. It's such a cool place, the creative environment has inspired me to branch out to new crafts! I recently finished the first step pottery class and I enjoyed every second of it. It's such a good deal for all that is included. Pam is incredibly talented and she genuinely cares about your success in the class. We are lucky to have Mondaes here in Nampa! read more

I really don't think that this place will stay open for very long. The owner has bit off more than she can chew. The fiber part of the store is very disappointing as well as the lack of classes in fiber. I would suggest to those living in the Treasure valley to look elsewhere for anything fiber related. read more

I wouldn't recommend bringing a date here. I attended two of the four classes, but the experience was disappointing. Out of the six hours I spent there, the instructor spent roughly four of them in private conversations with my date. She even began the second class by saying she'd be very hands-on and walking around the room instead of offering group instruction--then proceeded to spend nearly two hours in the corner (literally away from the wheels) talking only to him. It was uncomfortable enough that another student actually came up and apologized to me. To top it off, I ended up staying behind to clean for an hour after everyone else had already left so they could finish talking. Didn't finish the classes. Won't return. It would be fun for a girls thing I am sure but 0/10 would suggest coming with a date. read more

Such a fun place for a good date night/get together with friends or family. They host large groups for ceramic paintings. And are very accommodating, you are allowed to bring drinks and with you, so grab a bottle of wine. Or hop over to flying him and get yourself a drink to enjoy while you paint. They offer pottery and art classes on a rotating basis. And are such a wonderful space to relax and let your creativity flow. Definitely recommend for people of all ages and interests. read more

I placed an online order. After a month, I really started to wonder what happened. Then 2 months, then 3.... I emailed multiple times with ZERO response. I started calling. Multiple times They would always just say it is a different department, but they would ensure I would receive a reply. I never did. It has been 5 months. ZERO response to emails. ZERO response to phone calls. I'm not sure if this is even a real company. If they are, I am shocked they are still in business If they don't refund my order, I guess I need to report this to American Express as fraud. read more

This is such a cool idea of a place, but I was sorely disappointed. I attempted to go with a group to paint pottery, one of our party even called ahead to see if we needed to make a reservation. The girl on the phone said no, just come in. Five of us came as soon as they opened on a Saturday morning and we were directed over to the options for painting pottery. We were very disappointed to find a tiny selection of very niche things to paint like a giant platter that said "dad's barbecue" and Christmas mugs... this was in March. There was no options that were smooth surfaces as far as mugs, plates or bowls. Everything was very intricate and already had a design. Nothing I was willing to pay $20+ to paint. We went back and asked if there are any other options - that's when we were told that they needed to order more but there was an issue and that they were sorry their selection wasn't more. I feel like someone should've told us to us on that on the phone. We ended up leaving disappointed- maybe we'll try another time when they have stock! read more

I can't imagine going anywhere else for pottery. I've been coming here for two months now and have outgrown my fear of beginner and pottery with the help of the staff and other pottery members. It's surprising how chill and comfortable you can feel at someone else's business- especially when you spend 5 hours at this place trying to perfect your art. Every employee here is just kind and so willing to help. I just feel joyful being in this environment. There are plenty of activities to entertain yourself and your children. I went there as a knitter and was a little disappointed with the variety of yarn. It's mostly cotton and non-superwash (rough) wool... in brands I've never heard of. Lots of roving, for you spinners. If you're after good, pretty, soft superwash wools or blends... go online. That said - the store seems to mostly cater to the pottery people. I'm sure for them it's perfect. But as a knitter... a handful of short visits shows me it's not the place for me. read more

I am so fed up with this place. I have been refraining from negative views for anyone lately but this place has me seeing red. On the 15 of November 2021 I preordered an Addi knitting machine for $160. I did not mind waiting as I know that there are supply issues. I could have purchased it online but I have been trying to support local businesses. I had driven there to buy another machine a few months earlier. They fully charged the amount in November but I have still not received the machine. I have called about 3 times and I have used their order check on their website approximately 3-4 times. I have emailed numerous times and no one ever answers my request and I have not received even one update from this store. The last time I called I was told that I had been emailing the wrong address.....an address they have on their site. So I attempted emailing the email address the woman on the phone gave me and crickets. I have been hesitant to call my bank and report this as a fraud but I have been more than patient. Wanting to spend time and make memories with my 11 year old granddaughter, we went to "Puffy Mondaes" to paint in their Makerspace. It was a wonderful experience! The staff members were welcoming and attentive. The selection of ceramics and glazes was excellent. We did not feel rushed, and our many questions were answered with kindness. Super cute makers shop with plenty of selection, reasonable prices and even tea! They have ceramics you can paint and classes!

My husband went looking for a craft store thinking this place would be able to help him, sandpaper was what he needed. He felt he was treated as if he was intruding on the space, he felt as if he was perceived as some sort of threat, he's 66 has a white beard and very outspoken. He was made to feel uncomfortable as if he had no business asking for a product that they don't carry. He said he would not go in there again. He came home very upset. read more

I've ordered online twice. The first time I never received the order. Due to a family emergency I didn't follow up and figured I was partially responsible so let it go. 2nd online order; I was never notified of order status. I contacted the store and they advised me to email their order department, which I did. Several times. Never received a response. After several months, I went to the store and requested a refund. They wanted to give me a store credit instead which I didn't need. I only wanted the item I tried to order. I had to be persistent about the refund, which they did do in the end. This is a fine store, if you buy what is on the shelf. I recommend never ordering anything online. read more

Went into puffy mondaes for the first time yesterday. I really have no reason to drive out to nampa, but I purchased one of the yelp deals $50 for $75 for my birthday a while back, so out I went. They are open late, till 10 most days, which is awesome! There where a few people inside doing pottery, but I came strictly for yarn. Their yarn selection covers the back wall, it was a pretty decent selection. Not huge, but more than I expected from reading other reviews. There was an awesome sale going on, so I bought a ton of yarn, which subsequently had to be wound into balls. The lady at the counter had no issue doing this for me, which was greatly appreciated. Some of the yarn there is a little dusty. They also have a collection of knitting/crocheting/weaving/spinning books, magazines, supplies and displays. The pottery section looks awesome! I'm definitely going to be returning to paint some ceramics. No sitting fee, just the cost of the piece you want to paint, that includes the paint, glaze, and firing. Awesome. They also have a little tea stand. I didn't try any, but it would be nice to have a cup of you're sitting to knit/paint/do pottery. All in all a great shop. read more

I originally started going to Puffy Mondaes for knitting supplies and I recently found out they are so much more than a knitting store. They really pride themselves as an art store. Pottery, yarn, painting, etc. all in downtown Nampa. Last week my husband and I took our two nieces (11 and 9) to paint ceramics. A great, and affordable, way to get out of the heat and do something other than sit in front of the TV for the afternoon. You only have to pay for your piece. This cost covers paint, supplies, clean up and firing. NO SITTING FEE!! There was a good selection of pieces to pick from ranging in size and price. I'd recommend smaller pieces for kids as each piece needs three coats of paint and my 9-year-old picked a mid-sized piece and got a little bored towards the end. Right now there is some construction going on around the shop so parking isn't the most convenient, but there is lots of parking in the area if you don't mind walking a few blocks. The employees at Puffy Mondaes are always very friendly and helpful. The day we went a lady named Mary Jo was working and she was super friendly and great at checking in on us every once in a while. I will continue to shop at Puffy Mondaes for my knitting needs, but I'm so glad I found the other things they have to offer. Painting ceramics would make great gifts and would be a fun for a girls night or date night. read more

A favorite of mine among yarn stores. I love the large selection of weaving, spinning, and dying supplies and yarns.

Compared to other yarn stores in the valley this one has a limited supply of yarn. I will say what they have is more in the Eco-friendly range and not the common everyday mass produced yarn you see in most local yarn stores. I think a fiber artist is going to really love this place for it focus on spinning and weaving. For a regular knitter it is sparse. It's in a lovely storefront and offers ceramics as well. Over the years I've seen its yarn dwindle from 70 to now 30% of the store. read more

This is in the genre of craft store, about half yarn and half ceramics with a bit of miscellaneous art supplies... I go there for the ceramics. They have both paint-your own and raw clay. I started taking pottery classes about a year ago and have learned a ton. Open studio for students the whole month you are enrolled in class. Gives me a bright cheerful place to go and hang out, plus I met some cool people in my class that have now become good friends. Their pottery stock is pretty small... but they usually have clay and they've been pretty good about making catalog orders. read more

I stumbled across Puffy Mondaes online while looking for a particular book on spinning. I was delighted to find the book for a reasonable price (other sources had it priced ridiculously high) and ordered it right away. I returned to the site a few hours later and found a good deal on some fiber for spinning, too, so I ordered that and also sent an email, asking if the orders could be combined to save shipping ($15 between the 2 orders). I received a prompt reply stating that yes, they would combine the orders and issue a store gift card for the $15 worth of shipping. This should have been my first clue that things probably weren't going to go well--refunding the $15 would have been the right thing to do, in my opinion, rather than require me to spend it at their store...but I thought well, whatever. The book arrived soon after ordering, which was great. Unfortunately, things went south after that. My order didn't ship and didn't ship. No offer of a refund was made. In the interim were emails from the store owner, promising to contact me "tomorrow" or to take a certain action "today" that were never followed up on. My last email stated that I needed either the fiber to be shipped or a refund to be issued, or I would file complaints w/my credit card and the FTC. I finally received the rest of the order today, over a month since I placed it. All my contacts w/staff were polite; no one was rude or unpleasant. I simply couldn't get my order shipped. I would caution anyone who is going to order online to check and see if the items featured on the website are actually in stock. This was allegedly the reason for the delay of my initial order--2 of the 3 fibers I ordered were out of stock. I finally suggested substituting a different fiber for the ones that were unavailable just to finish up the transaction, since no one seemed inclined to refund my money. However, while the website showed nearly 20 different colors of the fiber I wanted to use as a substitute, there were in fact only 4 colors actually available. So in summary, I at last I have my fiber, and it's nice stuff, but I can certainly find equally nice materials w/a lot less hassle elsewhere. I will not be returning. read more
