Since they had teas and nonalcoholic beverages - even asterisked to show which ones had caffeine - I was happy to order something, and I opted for their hot chocolate, the "Third Eye." I saw ingredients like cinnamon, cardamom, and coconut, and I was sold. Were there ingredients I didn't recognize? Yes. Did it say "medicinal hot chocolate"? Yes. Did I think anything of it? No. To me, ALL hot chocolates are medicinal. We all had our drinks and moved on to the next location. As we were walking, I felt...off, almost like I was drunk. By the time we sat down at the new spot, I said, "I feel like my head is expanding," like it was being pumped full of helium. "It's your third eye opening," someone said, I thought jokingly. "Ohhhhh yeah," said my birthday friend. "I forgot that when I went to the evergreen room when my wife was pregnant, there were a bunch of drinks they said she couldn't have because she was pregnant." So I began googling the ingredients I didn't recognize and noticed that all of them said "Avoid consuming while pregnant or nursing." Therefore, the bad: if there are ingredients that people don't know offhand are bad to consume while pregnant or nursing, they need to be indicated on the menu. If they can asterisk drinks with caffeine, they can denote this as well. I would not have ordered the hot chocolate had I known. I wasn't aware of the "hippy dippy" nature of this place, as the locals were, so it didn't even occur to me to ask. If they fix that one thing in the menu, I'd give them five stars!

I parked in the Bank of America lot across the street. Approaching the entrance, you can tell this place is going to be vibe since even the front is brightly decorated with a bright orange-trimmed canopy, orange chairs, and pink stanchions. Walking inside, you are blasted with color. The walls are bright cyan, there are pink basket chairs suspended from the ceiling and there are even more orange chairs and seats. I spoke with the counter server and it turns out it was Joly herself. They've only been open for the past week and naturally there are growing pains with figuring out logistics and training the staff. This was definitely apparent when I received my drink from a different staff member and Joly had to correct her that the wrong lid was used. My drink turned out delicious and that's all that matters to me. I will have to come back here and try something more decadent, and I definitely want to try out their frozen yogurt. With that said, this review is based totally on the ambiance and staff friendliness. I look forward to coming back!

Hence, one of my latest discoveries: a coffee shop set up in a literal garage, next to a Safelite. This is a perfect place to host events, including live music. The space is huge. When you walk in, there is an outer lobby area filled with comfy chairs to sit and relax while sipping your coffee. Walking in, there are various areas to sit and socialize spread out into this industrial space, which still retains a certain coziness despite the size and high ceilings. You can definitely engage in the most inappropriate conversations here without being heard by other parties, which scores high marks in my book. I wish I had taken pictures, but I left my phone in the car. They have a variety of gluten-free desserts (and regular, as well) and I have never seen blueberry muffins that were more photogenic. They were MASSIVE, and loaded with tons of berries. They looked like something straight from a magazine. They also had cheesecake, red velvet cake, cupcakes, and other assorted treats. I ordered a black coffee, and one of the best cupcakes I've had in a while. It tasted like it came fresh out of the oven, and was incredibly moist. The coffee I picked was super strong. It was a medium roast, but reminded me more of a dark French roast. I'm used to drinking light roasts, though, so I think that it was just a little too strong and dark for me. That is a bit steep but I guess that is part of dining out nowadays.

It's a nice place to get a gift on the way to visiting someone. They have dairy products and other perishables as well. There's some outdoor seating at the store and the abundance of flowers outside was a nice touch. I guess, hence, the Kitchen Garden... Service was friendly and helpful.
