I don't give 5 stars lightly. We had 4 in our party and visited the Nashville location. Service was good, even short staffed, it was still good! It can be done, and they are an example of how! We could see the ginormous biscuits from the door. We had omelets, some "fork favorite", and yogurt/fruit/granola. We couldn't complain about anything we ate., it was all really good. We have heard mixed reviews of good food vs poor service, so for our first encounter we were skeptically expectant. Come to find out, tonight's dinner was pleasantly surprising. Forrest (server) was quick to the table, friendly, & attentive and the food came out within about 10 minutes and was DELICIOUS (if a little bit overpriced.) I hadn't explored the Murfreesboro square previously, so on an afternoon out with family, we stopped by Puckett's for a good lunch. The interior is a mix between old barn feel and divey music joint (there's a stage inside for their live music nights), which isn't a terrible combination. They have daily specials alongside all of their menu items, so I decided to give the Friday special a try. They had three meat options, the special side, and the day's dessert special. I chose a meat and two. I went with the pulled pork and fried okra, which was the side of the day. I tacked on the smashed sweet potatoes as my second side. When the food came out, I immediately wished I'd gone with just one side. I was expecting a relatively small meat portion, but it easily took up 1/3 of the plate. The meat was juicy and nicely seasoned, and it was even better after adding the house made BBQ sauce. Delish! The fried okra wasn't quite as crunchy as I'd hoped but still good. The smashed sweet potatoes were incredible! They were super creamy and just the right flavor. I will definitely be back to give some of their other menu items a try. read more

I've enjoyed getting breakfast here in the past since they first opened in Murfreesboro. One of my favorites were the creamy grits they served. The last couple of times the grits came out cold and lumpy like they had been sitting out a while and this was during breakfast rush where you would expect them to taste fresher. Also the hash browns I ordered as a side were never brought to the table. Had to flag down waiter for a spoon and later for a coffee refill. A lot of new faces and I didn't see the manager who has been there since they opened. Hope for better service next time. read more

I went there for the brisket Taco salad. Murfreesboro's version is not like Columbia and Franklin. Instead, Murfreesboro uses cubed, tough brisket, with little flavor. Columbia's and Franklin's has fall apart delicious, flavorful brisket. I hope Murfreesboro catches up in quality. read more

Went back tonight after having a less than pleasant experience last time. However, we were very happy with our dinner tonight! The waitress was timely and was present enough to be attentive, but not hovering. The atmosphere is great and we got to enjoy their front porch with some beautiful weather. The food was pretty good as well! I ordered the bacon wrapped filet mignon with mashed potatoes and green beans. The green beans were seasoned perfectly, but the mashed potatoes and steak could've had a touch more salt and pepper. However, everything was very tasty and I left with a clean plate. The Strawberry Mule is excellent and was mixed perfectly! Overall, it was a very pleasant dinner and if every experience is like that, I'll be back at Puckett's soon! read more

We have always had a great experience at a Puckett's Restaurant. Our first experience at the new Murfreesboro Square location wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst either. I had heard that the wait was too long and that they needed to "work out the kinks", but on a lazy Sunday after church, we decided to give it a try. We love Sundays at Puckett's because they offer an all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch buffet. They were busy, but we were willing to wait. The hostess told us that it would be a 40 minute wait for three people. I had originally thought that was odd for a buffet where you serve yourself and the food is made, but sat down to wait still. Then, I watched parties of 5, 2, and 4 go by and get seated and they came in after us. I didn't get upset till I saw another party of 3 come in and the hostess told them that it may be a 10 minute wait. Why was it a 40 minute wait 3 minutes ago? And this is the problem - the hostess staff needs to be trained. No wonder people complained of waiting - poor management! While we were there, there were about six people hanging out at the hostess stand. Again, poor management. Not a good look. The experience was saved due to the friendly gentleman helping in the buffet line and our server. He was very friendly, gave great recommendations and was very efficient. Oh, and of course, the food. My husband went back three times to get the cinnamon bun bake and he typically does not eat bad good food! Thank Goodness for Cinnamon Buns! I would recommend Puckett's to anyone because the food is delicious. Nevermind the service. read more

So after a followup from their customer service dept and them asking to give them a second chance, we decided to wait awhile to give it another shot. I have to say they completely redeemed themselves. The service was good, the food was hot and it tasted great. We had the cherry bomb burger and a hot chicken sandwich. The sliders i normally get at puckett's we're different here than at the others and not in a good way. they were totally drenched in BBQ sauce, when it's normally lightly brushed. not sure if i'll be back read more

Murfreesboro Puckett's qualifies in the latter category despite it's quaint, charming interior and friendly, efficient server. I'd give this place a -5 for the disgusting, overpriced food. I had a "build your own omelette". Rubberized egg, seemed like all yolk, and poorly prepared add-ins. The mushrooms and spinach seemed just kind of thrown in without being cooked and melded with the egg when the cheese melted. One of my friends called his meal, bacon(especially) horrible and said he'd never go back. A third said his breakfast was less than stellar. Very disappointed! read more

We took my our visiting family here New Years day. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. We had not been to this location but found it to be equally impressive as the others we visited. This was my second visit to this location. Party of 5 (including three children). We were seated quickly - much more so than I expected for a Saturday night. After being seated, it took an excessively long time for a waiter to come to our table. Even longer to take drink orders. On the children's menu is an item - meat and two vegetables. I was told that was not available. When the food came, it was very mediocre. My meatloaf was dry and flavorless. The children felt their food was "OK". The waiter kept disappearing, even after I informed him we had to be somewhere. HE brought the check and did not return to our table. We had to chase someone down to get our payment in. Definitely not worth the $65 I paid. My first visit was just "ok" as well. Unfortunately, they are not impressing with this location. read more

Made a reservation and didn't have to wait. They had our seats (and high chair) already set up before we walked in the door. Service was great. We ordered our 1 year olds kids meal right when we got there, because usually most restaurants take forever to prepare them, and we got it super fast which prevented his normal epic meltdown. I'll give five stars with one caveat: Saturday nights are hit-or-miss. We've been there on two Saturday nights since they opened. First one was amazing. We sat directly in front of the live band and had an awesome, leisurely late dinner and enjoyed the music. (Try the pecan cobbler - you won't be sorry.) The second time we were seated across the room from the stage (different band) and the servers had to use sign language and point at the menu to communicate with us. It's a small venue and the band is not the main attraction, so turning the volume down would have helped a lot. The food has been consistently excellent and we've had great service from the wait staff. Just be prepared to pay a cover charge on the weekends if there's live music. read more

The food is fair, but this is not the restaurant that Puckett's is known as. We were frequent customers at the Puckett's in franklin. The portion sizes were extraterrestrial! Just massive. And the prices were well worth it. But this 'boro restaurant is so disappointing we just have to stop coming. The price for chicken fried chicken was literally $1 cheaper here and half the portion as franklins. The breakfast is so-so. And the piggy-Mac was a smaller portion than what my daughter got on the kids menu. It wouldn't take much to make this the best eatery here in town but right now, it's not even close. read more

Walking up to pucketts my friends and I thought "Oh joy, another BBQ joint smack dab in the clogged heart of the south". Boy were we wrong. Once inside we were greeted with friendly smiles and the warm ambiance of neon lights and country music. Our server, KP welcomed us so promptly we hadn't even taken our jackets off yet. And she brought us our drinks so fast, I thought she was a witch conjuring things from thin air. Food was delicious and cooked to perfection, like it came out of Gods deep fryer. My wife and I loved this place when it first opened. We have noticed the past few times we have been let down somewhat. First I would highly recommend not ordering the brisket. Sometimes it is great but others it has been either over cooked or reheated in liquid and is more like roast than a BBQ brisket. I usually get their double cheeseburger with smoked gouda, but wait, they took the smoked gouda off the menu. My wife like the fried smoked Bologna sandwich, but wait, they took that one off the menu as well. Going back to the cheeseburger. They used to be one of the best in town. Now when it comes to the table it is always well done instead of the medium I order. The burger just does not have that good beefy flavor it once had in my opinion. The service is usually very good so it has that going for it and I love the atmosphere and how it is decorated. Overall it is Okay. read more
