Very poor service..Went in this morning for a cup of coffee with my husband, the lady at the register seemed rude from the get go... he got a cappuccino and I got a cold brew and cappuccino tasted fine. The cold brew was very watered down and did not taste good at all. I asked if I can get something else instead and give her back my drink and she said "uhhhhhh...no I'm not really allowed to.." and I said well can I get a refund? It just doesn't taste good and I always get a cold brew from here and she said "uhhhh.. I visited Puccino's on Veteran's Blvd this morning to study and pick up coffee. I was warned by other classmates that the Veterans location does not have the best service, and it lived up to its reputation. I ordered a latte with caramel syrup, but when I received the drink there was no caramel in it. I asked the barista to add some in - and when I tasted it afterwards there was orange juice in the latte! Not sure if it was an honest mistake or intentional, but it's safe to say I will not be going back to that location. read more

We went here for breakfast. I'm not a coffee drinker. I know, right!! Anyway, the breakfast menu is pretty basic. My hubby got a waffle which came with your choice of side. He chose sausage. It was just mediocre. I had the salmon bagel with cream cheese, onions and capers. It was good. I feel like they can do way more with the menu. When I first noticed these coffee shops popping up around town, I thought they were a national chain. Upon stepping into this location on Sunday morning, I realized nope; this is definitely local. Wow that's a lot of stuff everywhere. I met some family members and we had a variety of items. I liked that I could ask for my hot tea in ceramic and not in their go-cups. I think hot tea changes taste when served in those synthetic-y cups. My nieces got hot chocolate and it was OK. The one person who got iced coffee was happy. The food was hit or miss. The grits were gummy and the cheese grits had unmelted squares of cheese on top. One of the croissant sandwiches was sort of burnt, but my biscuit sandwich was good but really small. Puccino's is a coffee shop in serious need of focus. Behind the bar is a large menu featuring what I'd guess are the most popular items: iced coffee, iced lattes, granitas, frappes, and drip coffee. If you'd like something else, direct your attention to... anywhere else on the walls in the rest of the shop. There's a separate sign for mochas, a separate sign for chai, one for juice, one for lemonade, one for wine, a sign for breakfast sandwiches, a sign for frittatas; the list goes on. A shelf under the counter features bottled water, cotton candy, bubblegum, cookies, chips, and chocolates. Displays on either side of the register hold coffee beans, tea bags, breads, danish, muffins, oatmeal, protein bars, scones, and brownies. I counted four drink coolers. Oh, and there's video poker in the back. It's a good thing they sell coffee here, because this shop is exhausting. The service was decent. Both ladies behind the counter had heavy Italian accents, so I'd assume they're in some way part of the Puccino family. The ladies were curt in their exchanges, but efficient. The woman at the register tried to upsell me with some breakfast, and looked puzzled when I asked her if any of the food here was gluten free. That was all the answer I needed. With the myriad of snack options, I was pretty bummed that nothing here is safe for GF folks like me. I'd be happy with a KIND Bar or a packet of nuts, if I can't get a gluten free muffin. No such luck. My white mocha was fine. A bit too sweet, even by mocha standards. I parked myself in a booth and connected to the wifi -- which is free now, btw -- and caught up on my Yelp reviews. I wasn't bothered at all or given dirty looks for sitting on my phone for over an hour. If you're in need of a caffeine boost and you don't require a relaxing environment, Puccino's will work for you. I've been to Puccino's 3x in 3 days, visiting both of their locations. I can't help it, but i'm addicted to the frozen puccino's. Their regular lattes are also good and I did not have to add any sugar, and the lemon cake I had was large, only $4, and was delicious and not stale. I look forward to trying their breakfast items, and they have pretty awesome working hours. 5am to 12am? I'm in. Clearly Puccino's is a restaurant and not a typical coffee shop like Starbucks or French Press, so I find many of the bad reviews to be unfounded, especially when the major complaints are based on no free wifi and not being able to sit for hours studying at tables without purchasing food, when other patrons are clearly looking for somewhere to sit so that they can eat. read more

I had a terrible experience here. For one, I was one of the only African American customers and it was awkward for me walking into this place where the customers were openly discussing racism! Nevertheless, I politely ignored the vibes and hard stares and proceeded to wait in line like every else. The lady behind the counter had a very nasty attitude. I had been there previously and ordered a blended coffee that was really good so I wanted the same drink that I had last time but I didn't know the name of the coffee. The lady who helped the first time was very nice but that lady wasn't here this time. This time, I received service from a lady who had a very think accent and she didn't speak English well. I described the drink that I received last time to her. The drink she gave me was not the correct drink so I took it back. I told her this drink she gave me was not the correct drink. The drink I had last time was a blended drink that had whipped cream and chocolate drizzle on top. The drink that she gave me did not and it didn't taste the same either. This drink was very bitter and it tasted like chocolate drizzle. A cup full of chocolate drizzle. She attempted to re-ring the incorrect drink that I was trying to bring back and I told her I didn't want this drink. She proceeded to accuse me of incorrectly ordering and told me that they don't do free drinks and if I wanted her to remake it she would charge me full price. She then proceeded to tell me it was MY mistake, and not her fault. Then she spoke the foreign language over her shoulder while walking off. Very rude. Very unprofessional and almost seemed as if she didn't want to serve me at all. I will never return! For all the people complaining about the service it might be time to lower your expectations. You walk up to the counter and order. They make your coffee immediately, and when your food is ready they call your number. You're not waited on so I'm not sure what all these people are crying about regarding service? The staff was fine and efficient. My egg croissant sandwich with turkey was bomb and I would definitely come back here for that. The place itself is clean and pretty and they have free wifi with no one stressing you to give up your table. They also have cute booths that are raised one step. Friend of mine loves Italian sodas so I brought him there yesterday at about 250. He wanted a chicken wrap off of the menu. I couldn't find a table at any of the coffee shops nearby, so I decided to go to Puccino's as my last resort. My opinion about this place has not changed at all. Coffee is still overpriced. They charge for every little thing! I ordered two shots of espresso with two pumps of white mocha and a SPLASH of soy milk. I was charged for a SPLASH of soy milk! The total came out to be $5.67. I didn't have any cash, so I guess it worked out bc there's a $5 minimum with card purchases. They don't allow you to bring in outside food or drinks, but I brought my own snacks anyways. Not sure if they changed the quality of their food, but I remember their sandwiches being subpar and not worth spending $10. On the bright side, they don't charge for wifi anymore. I ordered a medium coffee here and had no cash on me. They wouldn't take my debit card because they have a $5 minimum charge. My first time there, so I didn't know. So I left with no coffee. They threw the coffee out, lost a customer, and received a negative Yelp review. All because they don't want to pay their card swipe charge just once for a new customer that didn't realize they had a $5 minimum. That's poor business. read more

While the food and drinks are decent at best, the service is incredibly slow. The staff is rude, and I was given a two minute lecture why they would not allow me to use a credit card on a transaction (I had a gift card of $5 and my total was around $9. They don't "allow" transactions below $5 on a credit card). This is not only inconvenient, but complete nonsense. Clearly a money saving tactic, but I believe they'll lose more business with this kind of service. A sandwich to go should not take 20 minutes to make either. It's obvious that Puccino's doesn't want to attract the college crowd that likes to drink coffee, eat overpriced food, and study. Ignoring the big signs declaring that you cannot study in a booth, the place is filled with loud "Italian" music. There are only four booth and about a dozen or so small tables, so seating is pretty limited. Throw in a lack of free wifi and it's not a good place to catch up on anything that requires a laptop or tablet. This was the first coffee shop I've been in in years that didn't offer free wifi. Even Starbucks does that. I wasn't particularly impressed with either of the items on my order. The cappuccino was passable. I also had the 5200 Avenue Bagel, which was ok but a bit greasy. The frozen Puccino is life!!!!!!! I am sacrificing ketosis for this cup of delicious awesomeness! But anyway....the service at this location is horrid. The 3 blonde ladies in here Elena and 2 others are so rude, they don't greet you when you come in or anything. They act like they are upset for being present. A friend and I dropped in here where we decided that we wanted coffee after roaming around a book store for a while. We ordered the frozen because it was recommended on the review and WOW. It was so good. What is even better was the text message conversation that happened the morning after. K: Do you know what I was thinking about when I woke up this morning? Me: No............... PUCCINO'S? K: Yes! We are addicted. Inside the place is very cute, and I am looking forward to trying to food in the future. Oh Puccinos...that was horrible. Completely horrible. Chicken Cesar wrap took 15mins to make in an empty cafe, when it was only tiny cubes of precooked chicken and wilted lettuce in a wrap, and the price was higher than stated on the menu. The WORST chicken Cesar wrap I've ever had, and if it weren't for their tasty coffee, I'd give this cafe 1 star. First, I hate grilled wraps. Most wraps have cold ingredients and in my opinion, shouldn't be grilled! It results in horribly wilted lettuce. Second, the wrap was falling apart the moment I picked it up. It was wrapped with broken wrap and was completely soggy on the bottom from the gallon of non creamy dressing they put in it. It was inedible. I threw it away. Do NOT order food from Puccinos. Puccino's saved my life. I traveled to Metairie, LA, in spring '06 for business and spent 11 days at and around the Lakeside Mall. When I arrive in any locale one of my first tasks is to locate someplace serving good coffee. For the first three days in Metairie I desperately searched for a good coffee place - hard to find with many businesses still closed after Katrina. Then one of our local informants told us about Puccino's. Hallelujah! Decent, strong, hot americanos with real cream. A local company --- that made it even better. Supporting the return of a local business seemed the very very least we could do. I wasn't thrilled with the pastry selection , though they do serve hot breakfast and also light lunch options. I've recently become obsessed with this place since I finally ventured out from just their drink menu. To my surprise I discovered that Puccino's is an excellent breakfast and lunch spot. Breakfast- Mon-Fri they have buy one get one free english muffin with egg, cheddar and ham for $1.99. Thats right, a dollar each! That's like McDonald's prices without having to eat McD's food! Big Win! In addition to that deal they have all the usual breakfast favorites all at great prices. Lunch - Mon - Fri They have "blue plate specials" for $4.99. Monday- red beans Tuesday - white beans Wed- Salsbury steak Thurs - Fried chicken Fri - fried catfish They come with 1 or 2 sides and the portion is generous. Besides that, they have a full menu of paninis, wraps, and salads. Everything has been good and they are fast so I can always count on them to not make me late going back to work. As for coffee, they have a ton of specialty coffee but this one is definitely worth mentioning... skinny frozen wedding cake latte and I swear they are lying because the taste isn't skinny at all! Today I went in and clearly ordered a iced latte( I had 2 people with me that heard me order) and when she served it to me it was hot. When I told her I ordered iced she picked it up, threw it in the sink and turned her back to make another. No comment from her at all as she pretty much slammed the iced down in front of me. Came here for the first time to try their famous Frozen Puccino and ohhhh my!! That was delicious. It was a veryyyy enjoyable dessert but I wouldn't get it if I need a boost of caffeine. It says that there is expresso in it but it has more of a coffee milkshake feel for me. It is topped with ice cream and the rest of the drink was extremely smooth. I would compare this to Starbuck's frappuccino but with ice cream and this is 987987987x better! The flavor is just right and the texture is just amazing. They give you a spoon to mix the ice cream in or just to eat it. Overall, this is a great dessert if you like coffee and I'd probably come back here next time I see one! read more

I'm honestly very confused as to what this place is supposed to be. There are very limited options, and when I have come twice to order a granita on two different occasions, they were "out". I'm not exactly sure how they can be out of granita but can prepare other frozen drinks, and why they are out on multiple occasions. There's weird back rooms labelled with poker and other random rooms? Going here with my brother the most recent time, he ordered a cappuccino, but it never came - only my drink came. We watched as the only employee, who wasn't very pleasant, vaped behind the counter and left for a few minutes to grab a Monster drink. When he came back, we asked where the cappuccino was, and he blamed my brother for taking the order sheet and that's why he didn't know to make a cappuccino (keeping in mind, we were the last people to come in and the place was near empty. No one ordered around when we did and it shouldn't be hard to remember that we ordered a cappuccino, or to at least tell my brother he took the order sheet accidentally, or to ask him to remind him). I love this place! **WARNING** The Frozen Puccinos can be addictive!! I've been going here for a couple years. Everything I've tried has been top notch...including their food. I love the ambiance of the place also. They have all kinds of kitschy stuff decorating the place and cool music too. It's a great place to meet up with a friend or friends to visit. They have comfortable seating inside and they have tables outside too. For the lovely humid/hot times here, they have fans with misting water, so you can actually sit outside. My favorite item there is definitely the Frozen Puccino. It is insanely good! The prices tend to be a little bit on the higher side, but the quality of everything is worth it. read more
