If you are in the outside parking area, you look up and you see the Publix is on what appears to be the second floor so it's a little confusing as to how to get to the store itself. There are stairs if you want to go that route or you can take an elevator which is also located on that side parking area that takes you directly into the grocery store. They also have an inner parking area underneath Publix with more parking area and there is an elevator there as well. The idea is that you can shop and then take a large elevator that can accommodate your grocery cart for your trip on the way down to your car. Other than that, it's set up like any other Publix grocery store. I came in primarily to get pet food, but it's hard to resist the other items in the store. I got hung up looking at the delicious food in the bakery and deli area. I ended up getting bread, fresh made asiago bagels and a homemade cheese bread. Oh yea, I almost forgot the pet food! There is a small section but some good choices for kitty or canine. I noted The store is clean and the staff are friendly. After checkout, I made my way to this huge elevator that holds two or three carts so no problem getting my grocery cart in there for my trip downstairs to get to my car. Harris teeter here had sharp edges under shelving so in reaching for an item with no upper clearance, it tore my skin and cut me. They said they were unaware of the situation and denied me any compensation. How are they conducting health department and Dept of Agriculture inspection requirements and not know? Truth is they couldn't be and not be aware of the split, broken and sharp metal from damage, as well as filth. This is a classic example how a large regional grocery chain doesn't take responsibility for situations like these. If they don't know that numerous sharp pieces of metal are sticking out in ways that can injure people when they peruse vegetables, how exactly are they handling their produce? It sickens me that these stores are managed like this. There are too many sporas etc. now this kind of stuff. Found the shelving was also filthy. Some of these stores follow rules designed to protect us. Harris Teeter? "We didn't know there was a problem." I still have a scar center forearm. Looks horrible. Wish I could post pics of the conditions there and on my arm. Didn't find this at Publix, Lowe's Foods, Lidles, Aldi, Lowe's Foods or Whole Foods. It was Thursday and I was informed that wine was half price at their little bar area so I came in to see what the place was all about and have a wine. As you get further into the store, you see the little bar where you can order wine, beer, or coffee drinks, as well as a small smattering of tables and chairs to enjoy your beverage of choice. I met some new people while I was there which made me feel very welcome and it is a place that I will want to frequent when I'm in the area. There are many specials going on at this little store and bar. I believe on Wednesdays. They have a special on beer prices to go or to drink there in the little café and there are other specials most days.
