I recently went to this establishment to purchase some deli meat. Everything was fine until I got home and noticed that the cheese I purchased had residue on it from the meat I also purchased. Even though I am making a sandwich, I really don't want all the cheese I purchased tainted with the meat also. With that being said I think it would a good practice for the attending deli clerk to either use a different slicer for different deli item or clean the slicer between products. I feel in the future I may have to inform the clerk to clean the machine of the previous product as to not cross contaminate other items. read more

Other than you won't get out of here spending less than $150 dollars, the cost has gone up but the service has gone down. Went to pick up lunch and discovered Publix now have lemon pepper chicken wings. This was great news to me. I got my normal cheese steak like sub and also order 5 wings. The cheese steak is no longer on the menu but you can still get it. The always had some great macaroni and cheese bits. All my with some great sweet tea. read more

After all I heard about Publix Super Markets I was shocked to see their outrageously high prices. Basic necessities are so high here for example the Q-tip is $4.49 compared to Walmart add $3.29, Half gallon of 2% milk is $3.21 compared to Walmart one dollar $.99 and that's not all the baby food is out rages Lehigh the servings that they give you for their Publix chicken salad is a single serve and it's nearly 5 dollars I am not pleased with the supermarket and I will not return return. This Publix bought out this former Albertsons grocery store location. I love this Publix and all Publix's for that matter. If they don't have what you need or want, the Manager tries to get it in stock for you. Bakery:I love the Bakery-especially when they are baking bread pudding! They give the kids a free cookie when they ask for one. Produce:very fresh fruit, almost always. I also love it when the put the cut up fruit on the BOGO deal. The produce employees are very helpful. Meat:the best meat in town. I live the BOGO meat sales. Deli:they have a hot bar for lunches and dinners. You get a meat and two sides with a Hawaiian roll on the side. The sandwiches are made to order. I love the choices of fresh sliced meats and cheeses. Sushi Bar:I've only bought pre-made sushi from here a few times. I prefer my sushi prepared in front of me and fresh. Good for when your in a pinch and craving sushi on the run. Pharmacy:always good. A plus service. My main complaint is where the fruit bowls are made. Those who cut the fruit need to taste it first or be knowledgeable if fruit is ripe before it is put in a container. My husband picked up a fruit bowl and had three pieces of fruit, and then he was mad. The rest of the fruit was bitter! Would you feed it to your family? This is my favorite publix but they did not do a good job today. I ordered a hazlenut indulgence cake as they don't have the slices in store. This cake is 25.99. This is for my birthday and I tell the man I am picking up a cake. He says he don't see it and he can't look it up. He asks to see my phone to make sure I am at the right location. This location is less than 5 minutes from my house. I know I have the right location. I ask him is this 9100 merrill road. He acted like he did not know the address. I told him I will happily take a refund as I have confirmation and I paid online. Then the baker comes out with the cake and he says oh he looked in the wrong place. Wow. They just gave me the cake nothing that stated it was paid for. I went to the frozen section for my free birthday ice cream. I go to customer service. The lady asks if it is my birthday. I had the ice cream on the counter. She wasn't worried about the cake until I said the cake is paid for. She says where is my proof. Proof is on my phone. I show her. She says they supposed to put a sticker on it. Take that up with the bakery not me. I have my proof. I would not want to get cased up or go to jail over free ice cream and a 26 dollar cake. I did not like my experience today. I usually get scratch offs and that is it. I do order sandwiches online and pick them up. I like less interaction with the employees so I can avoid this. AVOID THIS STORE!!! Complete SHIT SHOW of a deli. Not only myself but all my neighbors have complained numerous times about the deli. It never changes-so my goal in writing this truthful review is to hopefully create awareness among the management team. They don't restock - EVER. They wait until they are completely out of everything... and when there is a lull in the work... well .. that's just breaktime for the staff. Nevermind restocking so that people don't have to wait. To the management team at publix... all you need to do is check the cameras at 4:45 PM on 5/20/2023 [probably earlier actually]. You will note a man in a hat and sunglasses [yours truly] who was so happy to be first in line... and then as usual... no cheese sliced for sandwiches.. AT THE DELI!?? NO CHEESE SLICED... so the entire line had to wait for this collection of clowns to clean a slicer, and start slicing... the whole experience was 30 FUCKING MINUTES. Someone needs to get fired- and I don't mean the clerk... this starts at the top. I pray ANY other chain comes in and does it right. AVOID THIS STORE!! FYI... I have spoken to management several times about these easily fixed issues.. how often? At least 5 times in the last 9 months. AVOID THIS STORE. This location should stop doing mobile orders. They either take an extra hour from the time it says you should pick it up (which is insane considering how much time they have already) or they actually do make the sub, but instead of putting it out like they're supposed to; they hide them in the back so you have to ask them for it. Which is like the opposite of the point. I do mobile orders specifically so that I DONT have to talk to anyone. Not so that I can stand there like an asshole for 30 minutes because they can't figure out where the subs go. They cannot be bothered to remember the oil and vinegar packets. I'm sick as fuck and thought it would be quick and painless and I would be on my way. Thats why I did mobile order. I was wrong. Also the sushi here is only ever that imitation crab shit. No no no why did they change the way they make the spinach / artichoke flatbread!!!! I ordered one today and it looked and tasted totally different I'm so disappointed. I made my order online they added tomatoes even though notes said no tomatoes and where is the chicken??? I took my order back and questioned the woman because It was made wrong. Publix is one the the best grocery chains I know of across the entire continent. If not for Fairway market chains' impressiveness for displays, variety of brands and choices of fresh meats, fish and all around visual aesthetics, Publix would probably be my favorite all around grocery store. Mind you Publix is more of an everyday non-premium type grocery store where as Fairway borders on higher end, Publix has everything including their own brands of good quality products. Recently my cousin was telling me the praises of their fried chicken wings so I picked up a pack of which contained perhaps 20 wings, ready to eat and it was under 10 dollars. That's a good deal and these wings were meaty, not scrawny and they tasted superb. I selected the spicy wings as opposed to the plain flavored fried chicken. Publix has decent prices for their products. In all the years I've ever been to Jacksonville I can really only remember Publix and Winn Dixie being the main grocery stores and it seems that really hasn't changed. read more

I am not sure why the grocery store leadership doesn't address customer issues or complaints. I personally know at least 15 people who have complained in person or have posted their complaints on various social media platforms. Not one person from their management team has replied. I am assuming that customers who complain about everything is perhaps their standard at this location. I say this location because there are many other Publix store that treat their customer so good! You can't continue to use the excuse that there is a shortage in staff. The people you have currently working there specifically in the deli area are the most and absolute worst I have ever seen. They stand around and give dirty looks to anyone who walks to get a sub or any hot food. Then when actually have to assist you, the unprofessional attitude comes out! I would recommend someone from corporate perform an undercover visit and watch the show begin!! Let me be clear, it's is the deli and bakery department. Don't take my word....grab some popcorn on the way in and stand somewhere out of site and watch the unacceptable behavior! All of them working on October 04,2023 around 4:30-6:30 pm should NOT be in a position dealing with people! Or they need to attend customer service 101 training or better yet, FIRED from Publix. I like this Publix, don't think I have ever been disappointed with their products or service. But this afternoon I wanted a sub sandwich. Went up to the counter and the man behind the counter was sweeping up. He leaned the broom and dust pan against the wall and said, "what can I get you". I said, no hurry go ahead and finish. He asked again what can I get for you. I looked at him and said, "nothing thank you", and walked away. When he put the broom and dust pan down he should have washed his hands. Publix has always been my go to grocery story since moving from Phoenix to Jacksonville for work, and there are tons in the area! Normally I love my experiences at Publix, because the staff are always friendly & customer oriented. I've had friends who have worked in management here, so I know that Publix takes pride in its customer service, it's a huge part of their company. However, the past two times going to this specific Publix, my cashier has been some mid aged man named Steve or Steven, who I've shared now TWO of the worst interactions at a publix, or check out line in GENERAL... I've ever had. I said hello, and asked him how his day was, and he looked at me in the eyes and disregarded me completely. It was so uncomfortable and awkward! I was like okay never mind sir. Through checking out both times, he has made it the utmost weird and uncomfortable experience of my life while shopping, and I know I can't be the only person who has felt that same experience with him. I can't speak on behalf of the lady in front of me in line, but that interaction looked quite uneasy too. This lady was very friendly to him, smiling and saying hello (to no avail), and didn't even get a word from him the entire check out process. I noticed even when she was haphazardly handed a receipt by him, he said nothing and didn't even pretend to be friendly whatsoever, and just sent her on her way and shrugged her off, and it seemed very awkward then too... Did the same to me. This guy has been working here since 2016, I read on his tag. I was hoping the first time it was just an off day, we all have them. But two times now? The guy is just straight up unfriendly and unprofessional, and makes customers like me not want to return. Particularly knowing the nature of this behavior is something that seems to have been tolerated for a long time now. Just weird. A very weird experience. Definitely will not be returning to this Publix. There are plenty in the area and I've had wonderful experiences at other locations within a few miles of this one!! I'm sure other associates are great as well, which is unfortunate, having to be represented on his behalf as part of a whole. If I ever happen to return I will surely make it a point to choose a different associate than this guy. straight up weird. As an independent business owner, I have the money and resources to purchase elsewhere like Trader Joe's, but I love Publix. This has tarnished that for me. Hope I have the correct date 3/14 this past Thursday . And I wish I had remembered and or written down the name of the young lady who assisted me at the bakery counter. To shorten the long long long story, she abruptly stopped what she was doing (packing up bread, rolls, and other stuff) grabbed a couple plain cake donuts and generously, lavishly slathered them with luscious chocolate icing. So good... I can still taste them (sometimes regurgitated is nirvana, especially mated with hot/warm rich black coffee. All done with genuine, cheerful friendliness and urgency to please the customer that employees at Winn Dixie, Aldi, Walmart, Target and other stores still don't understand. This Publix is great. It is so clean and it is a big store. It is a little backwards from my usual store, but the customer service is amazing. I was in the sushi department and the lady who makes them was helpful and trying to get me to choose a really good roll, but I went with my rainbow roll. Check out was WONDERFUL. Brittani, the cashier, and Hector, the bagger, were wonderful, quick and efficient and just lovely anf friendly. This is why I continue to frequent Publix over many other places. Their produce is fresh and beautiful. You can find organic foods that you can't find anywhere else (I can't find liquid aminos that often!) and the service is phenomenal! After arriving in Jacksonville a few months ago from New York, I was immediately impressed by this Publix market as it presents itself like a clean green palace at my command and the employees here are super helpful. I make a point of visiting every department with every visit to see what is new and to get the employee's opinion on what is good or exciting. Despite its palace decor, this store is totally functional and unpretentious as it caters to my new tastes of the week with ease. The thing I like the most about this Publix proximity to where I live. Other than that it's just a means of grocery shopping. I get my prescription meds here as well so it really is convenient. Vegetable and fruit area offer the usual offerings and they are not always at their peak sell by dates. Fish also is limited choices. I guess if people at not buying why stock. The bakery offers quite a few choices with my favorite being the Artisan bread and rolls. One of the positives is employee retention. They must be doing something right. read more

Honestly really disappointed at this establishment. The lady that checked me was BEYOND rude. Ive NEVER EVER had ANYTHING other than outstanding service. However today the cashier decided she was going to try to HARASS ME for a conversation i was HAVING ON MY CELL PHONE with my fiance while checking out. She then tried to "kick me out the store" when I simply AND POLITELY replied with i thought this was a free country with freedom of speech ON TOP of apologizing for my "bad word". I asked for a manager to resolve the issue and the manager simply ignored the matter and walked away and did something else. I guess Jaime thinks its okay for her employees to treat people badly that are CLEARLY having a rough day already and then praise them for it. Wasnt going to write a review because everyone makes mistakes but when i POLITELY spoke with the manager and i WATCHED her blow it off like nothing happened I decided to write this review instead because maybe then someone higher up will actually say or do something about it. By far the worst publix in the franchise. Went to deli counter asked for shaved roast beef and turkey she refused to do turkey because you now have to buy the precut now. They didn't have precut roast beef so she cut it super thick it's not edible. The meat department ignores you the deli don't cut any more the prices are high but you used to get great service now it's not worth it. read more

I know that it is not fun to walk through the smoke and stink of someone smoking in public. It talks about how they have awesome meat , no hormones, grass fed. So I called today on 08/2/2018 to order some subs. Which I have to buy ever Fridays moving forward for my store. So when the lady answer the phone I was calling to ask a question. And she was very rude on the phone and unprofessional. I asked to speak with her manager, which it seem like he did not care at all. Then I asked to talk to his supervisor which it was the store manager. I tell him what happened and that I don't fell comfortable ordering from his store anymore. This is the worst Publix by far that I've ever been to in my life. I went in there to get a rotisserie chicken for dinner which is supposed to be a quick dinner idea and instead I got there at 5:30 PM mind you and they had zero chickens available and we're cooking some and was told that they would be available in 20 minutes this is a prime time when people are getting off work trying to go home and feed their families. Not only did they tell me that but they were extremely rude about it and the people that work there just seem to suck all around the shelves are not stocked there's homeless people standing outside will never be back read more

Publix has great fresh produce. I'm really into herbs many healthy options that aren't mainstream. They carry Bragg's Amino Acids, which I use to cook almost everything with. It's a healthier option of Soy sauce ;-) They also sell Sweet Leaf Mint & Honey green tea!! The store is always clean and there's usually something good to sample. But my fav thing is that the restrooms in most stores, are located in the front!!! Which is great for me because I'm always waiting until the last minute. And end up doing the pee dance..... I can still hear my mom saying, "you better stop holding it or you going to be sorry when you get older" LOL read more
