Came by the other night and it was a great experience. Parking was plentiful and the grocery store was stocked. Staff were all in uniform with name tags. I did notice a police car outside the grocery store along with a police officer watching people check-out. I noticed a couple derelicts in the lobby along with some questionable people in the parking lot?!? Grabbed some cherries and a 6 pack of water and was on my way out within minutes! read more

Western Union, anyone? I was searching for the nearest Western Union location and found this Publix location that offered WU services. The services I was looking for, although a bit complicated in nature (so I thought), were offered at this location. I had a great experience with Liam who assisted me and took the time to explain my options, the costs involved and the types of services offered. I appreciated his professionalism and while assisting me, I was impressed with his ability to calm an irate customer who was complaining about who knows what. He had a team of supporters that came to assist and I wanted to compliment them for their efforts and how they handled the situation with this customer. I did manage to grab a sandwich while I was there. This was my first visit to this Publix location and while it's your typical Publix store, it needs some TLC for it seemed like an older store. Deli staff were super nice and were fast and efficient in assisting a crowd of hungry people. Keep up the good work! My five star goes to the Customer Service Team but I would give the store (appearance and organization) a three star for it seemed a bit unorganized and cluttered. read more

If you want personalized customer service and Publix that will remember you, then you make your family grocery stops here. A lot of the employees here have been at this store for several years or at least as long as I have been coming, and they made this Publix my "home grocery store." They are seasoned, well-informed vets and not to mention real foodies. You'll get great recommendations on food items when you ask, and every department is professional, and the meat section never has an odor. read more

Not my favorite but they're my local Publix across the street. They were out of most all everything I came in for tonight, which is what prompted me to write this review. Also because the customer service "manager" was unsympathetic and quibbly about it when responding to asking me whether or not "I found everything I was looking for". No polite disillusionment. So, prices are higher here than other Publix stores I shop and they don't necessarily have the largest selection. It's a smaller more brass and glass boutique type of Publix. Whenever I pre-order a sub on the app they often don't make it until I show up, enough I don't order them anymore because what's the point in that? And there's a reason there's a cop on property. I've been aggressively panhandled to the point of altercation, drawn into a loud Karen-like fracas between another customer and a cashier one morning, and unfortunately watched some presumably drunk or drugged out tweaker drop his pants in the parking lot. Full monty bro! Honestly, if they weren't across the street and convenient in a pinch, I wouldn't shop them at all. Most of my grocery spend is spread around to other stores, as a result. read more

Multiple Publix locations are out of my regularly purchased items. It's a 40 minute wait here for an 8 piece box of chicken that's on sale this week. I put up my cart and left for the 2nd time in a week. It's pretty bad when a loaf of bread costs $5 and a large deli Macaroni salad is nearly $10, if you can find it in stock. I get supply chain issues and shortages due to the hurricanes, but Publix is slipping when it comes to their legendary customer service and product quality. read more

Just left this Publix. First time visiting this one and found many, many prices higher than my regular Publix. 8am in the morning and the ground beef that was on a $5.49 special was empty in the showcase. Lots of ground beef options at $7.49 and $8.99 a lb. This location doesn't align with most other location. Very disappointed and will not return to this location. read more

This location is located on East Colonial Drive by where it intersects with Mills. Publix has carved an enviable reputation by offering great customer service, great prices and their subs are beloved. I would definitely recommend here. read more

Our groceries were shoved into a singular plastic bag. When my grandmother (who does not speak English) attempted to grab another plastic bag on her own to separate the dripping wet kale into its own bag, our cashier, Wendy (according to the receipt), rudely snatched the bag out of my grandmother's hands and condescendingly told her that "everything fits in there..." and "you don't need another bag." My grandmother tried to gesture with her hands, but the cashier simply sucked her teeth and nodded her head no as if my grandmother was incompetent. Most Publixes provide some of the best customer service, however this incident has strayed me away from coming to this specific location again. Publix is always going to be my go-to super market. It rarely lets me down. This location was no different. It was a much different layout than I'm used to but they managed to have everything in stock that I wanted. The deli was serving up some great chicken as always. The bakery had plenty of awesome sweets in stock. The seafood section had the tuna salad I was looking for (The Publix by me never seems to have it). The produce section had all fresh stuff, as I have come to expect from Publix. The employees were all very friendly and more than happy to help. Overall, I got the typical Publix experience from here and I'm very happy. read more

I live in the area and this publix is closest to me as far as a supermarket. This publix definitely lacks the friendly customer service you would typically expect (save for the bagging and cart staff). Deli is horribly slow. Managers are mostly non existent and only seem to be around to give people dirty looks. Most of the managers are older men stuck in their teenage years driving little sports cars. This Publix needs a shake up for sure. What happened to real professionals running these places? PS: Publix in general is stocking terrible food. Every single bread item in the deli is made with highly refined and toxic seed oils instead of butter, eggs, etc. maybe time for a change ? read more

I just had a terrible experience at this Publix particular. I don't know is it management team underqualified or is just employees are ridiculous. The produce manager help me to get what I need when I got to the register they said you're allowed to take only certain quantity of the item. I love me some Publix, but sadly this is not my fave location for this chain. The store itself is a vintage one with a classic vibe that really harkens back to another decade. I love the look and feel. They have all the awesomeness that is Publix inside as well. The negatives here is the parking lot and some of the sketchiness of the overall area. Every time we come here we are hit up for money or something in the parking lot, both coming in and leaving. It doesn't really bother me from that point of view, it just makes me a bit uncomfortable safety wise with the baby and if I go alone. I do need time to put the groceries into the car and having people around and hovering and watching while I have the munchkin is a bit unnerving honestly. The store itself is Publix perfection and has everything you could need, so it's definitely a place that I would recommend for regular grocery shopping, just be aware of your surroundings is all. :) Overall: B- Parking lot is sketch, but Publix is great! read more

Absolutely disgusted how I was spoken to at the deli today when I was ordering a wrap. The girl by the name of talisha who was making my wrap, was very sweet and very confused of my request of potato wedges in the wrap. I told her usually they just weigh it out and add it to the price. After she put the potato wedges on the wrap, I asked her for avocado and they didn't have any in the deli so I handed her one and then comes on over and has a ego trip and demands talisha to remove my potato wedges from the wrap. Absolutely disgusted by this woman and her reaction. This is supposed to be a neighborhood, friendly supermarket and, I am ordering a sandwich is only veggies inside. When I asked for the deli manager, they said that she was the one in charge. I know damn well she's not in charge and Jeff runs that deli. If they're leaving that woman in charge to handle customers then this will go downhill super fast with a name like that she belongs on a pole dancing on the weekends. Just had a rotten experience here. I was making two separate purchases as I shop for my mother who is housebound. I had a bagger who was in front of my cart arranging about 240 bucks worth of bags, and a full cart in front of me. I was told rudely to move by the woman behind me, to which I said I'd be out of her way when finished, then was given the verbal heave-ho by the young cashier. Not much I could do except astonishedly stand there and get abused by the customer behind me and the cashier in front of me while the bagger was finishing his job. I came home and called the manager. Never have done that before, but was never treated more rudely by a supermarket. The manager was kind, but who knows if anything happened. I absolutely will not go back to this store. I want to thank the entire staff of the bakery who were so kind and helpful. They filled an order of 84 cupcakes for my mother's 99th birthday to serve to the residents and staff at Westminster Towers. The bakery staff all got together to complete an order that had been misplaced by another store. They were amazing as they filled the order in about 1 hour. The cupcakes were delicious!! I used to go to this Publix 10 years ago and it was great. I don't know what changed in a decade, but it legitimately gives me anxiety to shop here now. This is an older, smaller publix right in my neighborhood. Super easy to run in and out of so in between this location and the one near Lake Eola, I usually stop here. It's a normal publix but I have to give props to the pharmacy, very friendly and almost always on their game! Parking can be pretty terrible sometimes though just cause of the layout. read more

Gotta love my neighborhood Publix! I love shopping local, but value the convenience and price at Publix like any other person. This is a smaller store as it's been around for a while and they just finished a renovation. I am always surprised by the level of customer service at this shop. The folks at the bakery are always incredibly friendly and helpful. As are the cashiers. There are a few big chain grocery stores that treat their employees terribly and it translates to the customer through unhappy workers with unpleasant attitudes (among other outcomes). This doesn't seem to be the case here. The employees recognize repeat customers and they are always ready with a smile. I'm a smiley, chatty person, and I really appreciate this. Finally, I got a prescription here one day because the doctor told me that they provide all antibiotics for free! Whether you are an existing pharmacy customer or not! I don't know how they do this, but I've seen a lot of people taking advantage of this deal and I'm glad they're able to get affordable medicine. read more

Publix is King. For cleanliness, for customer service and for quality of products carried. If you want top notch cold cut meats, Boar's Head is tough to beat. If you are looking for a deal then pay close attention to their BOGO's. Everything else "buyer beware." This Publix I feel is not like your "average" Publix. It doesn't have the Publix "feel". That probably sounds so weird, but those of you whom are regular Publix shoppers know what I'm talking about. Right when you walk into a Publix you know. But here it's different. It feels crowded, and you're not greeted as usual with the "Welcome to Publix". My neighborhood Publix. Overall, this location has grown on me. It's not the newest or the biggest, but it has almost like a "Cheers" feel to it...where they recognize you. The store recently got some upgrades and a slight change to the layout...which was nice. I do wish this stores was bigger. The deli can get a little crowded during peak times. There is usually a police officer staged just inside the entrance. I don't think it's a bad store, but it does give me an extra sense of security. The staff is always nice and the store is always clean. It's Publix, so there's not really anything negative to say. read more

I asked the local Floridian what the equivalent of Publix was. Could it be Whole Foods. She said kind of. But she practically drooled when I asked if it was like Trader Joe's. I guess they don't have those in FL. Another reason to never move here. But this is nice too! We got deli sandwiches to go which were made to order. Lots of chips and juices that were the same Publix brand. Lots of fresh fruit that some of it I didn't even know what it was. Maybe regional specialties? This Publix is not close to where I live, but it is on the way home after a day in the studio. Which is great for stopping by on the way to get that gallon of milk or something for dinner. Very convenient. Especially this last Wednesday evening when I stopped in to buy a rotisserie chicken from the deli. I just happened to come in when the chicken was finished cooking and taken out of the rotisserie. Love the Mojo chicken! Although smaller than other Publix supermarkets in the area, this Publix always has everything in stock. The employees always keep the shelves stocked, and are very helpful if you are looking for an item. And from the bakery to the deli and onto the seafood counter, all of the employees here say hello and are friendly, as well as providing great service. Never have I had a problem here as far as not being able to find what I am looking for. The produce is also well stocked, but the variety is not as big as the larger Publix stores. I love this Publix very much. But there are a few things I do not like. Having a smaller parking lot, parking can be a bitch! Especially during the rush hour when everyone is stopping in on the way home. There have been a few times in which parking is so bad, I just leave. Not in the mood to play musical parking spaces. There is a additional parking lot across the street on Hillcrest, but I am not going to park there when it is raining. And if you are entering/exiting the parking lot from Shine Avenue, getting in and out can be a problem, being sandwiched by two four-way intersections. Another problem with parking is people parking not for shopping at Publix, but for parking and walking across Shine Avenue to go to one of several restaurant/stores in Little Saigon. Another problem I have is not with the store or its parking, but with some of the customers who use the small hand baskets. Whether I am in the express lane, or the lanes for more than ten items, I see some customers put their basket on the conveyor belt at the register and leave it for the cashier to unload. The cashiers do not unload the shopping baskets, so why should they have to do this for you? It puts more work on them, and it holds up the line. And don't even think of telling me that they get paid to do that. If you can put five items in the basket, then you can take those five items out at the register. If it is someone who needs assistance, then I can understand. But otherwise, it is just being lazy and disrespectful. As I mentioned earlier, I picked up rotisserie chicken from the deli. There are times when it seems like customers are buying either rotisserie/fried chicken faster than the deli can cook it. There were four customers ahead of me waiting for rotisserie chicken, and one of those customer's had to play "Fifty Stupid Questions" with the guy working the deli. Thanks for holding up the line, jack ass! But a shout out to the Publix employees who work the deli. You all do a great job! As well as every other employee who works here. I'll stop in again when I am driving home during rush hour. read more

I was shopping for an ill friend and had an entire list of items that I don't normally buy and was shopping in a Publix I don't normally shop at. I was certainly setup for disaster...but don't you forget that this is still Publix, where customer service is king (and "Where Shopping Is a Pleasure", of course). You see, I pride myself on my grocery shopping abilities. Go ahead and laugh but If I had updated my resume in the past 5 years, it would be on there. Seriously though, I'm a grocery shopping ninja; I go in with a plan and execute said plan expertly with only the rare variance (damn BOGO calypso cookies from the bakery!!) Anyways, my seemingly ill fated mission was salvaged by an employee who I swear materialized right before my eyes in my time of need, ready to help me find one trickiest of items.....Kleenex folded hand towels, 60 count. Right near the Kleenex tissues? that would be too easy. Perhaps nestled next to the paper towels? try again. After a quick wave of his wand, blink of his eyes, and twitch of his nose (okay, he just pointed and then walked me over to them) the employee used his GSL (grocery location senses) to immediately locate the item and guide me to it. With that, I averted a nightmare of a grocery strip. Was it the most efficient trip in my long history of grocery shopping successes filled with many accolades? No, but it was memorable. Speaking of memorable....that time directly after this one where I manage to haul $200 worth of groceries to the 25th floor of The Vue without the use of a cart in only 2 trips? ...now that was memorable!! Maybe I'll add that to my resume too....whenever I finally get around to updating it... INSIDER TIP Small and cramped inside compared to most other Publix locations....even the carts are tiny. I will walk you thru from outside in. This is a smaller Publix by about half the size however it is still fairly busy so the parking lot can get a little congested depending on the time you go. However there is always parking available, just may not be close to the doors. As I mentioned this is a smaller Publix, but so far they seem to always have what I'm looking for from produce to dairies, to meats and even non grocery items like toiletries, pet supplies and food, and art supplies and cleaning products. Makes it hard to think what else would be in one of the larger stores that they don't have here. Although this is a small store it is well stocked and well organized. They have a pretty nice wine selection as well. The produce always looks fresh and crisp and is changed out regularly. I never see over ripe food on the shelf more than a day past when you would actually want to buy it. They have a bakery where they whip up some awesome and delicious deserts. I've tried many of them and have liked each one with the exception of a cupcake that was a little dry but that was just a one time occurrence. The bakery staff is really friendly and approachable and will answer all and any of your questions. They will even slice your loaf to what ever thickness you want upon request. The seafood department is knowledgeable and friendly and the prices on seafood however a little on the high side is very fresh. They have a hot foods and deli department but I have never used those services so won't comment much on that other than the staff always says high when you walk by and it looks clean. The check out staff is super awesome. They always ask if plastic is ok or if would prefer paper. They even always offer to help load groceries in the car. When my daughter is with me they always give her a balloon for free from customer service which she loves and is very nice of them to do so. I live this neighborhood Publix. read more

The only place to shop... but now the Target downtown is a super target with food. I rather go to Target then pay these prices. Their meat department is priced like the hamburger meat is laced with gold. When I want deli meat or anything else I go to winn dixie. Then Target for everything else. The prices are too extreme here. The selection is mediocre. Its like fitting a supermarket in a large house and calling it a publix. Most of the items will be 25% more than target or walmart. Location location location. Pros The shrimp is usually on sale for about $7/ lb in the seafood dept. They have boar's head meats and cheeses. If you are into organic they have a section for you. Cons No koolaid in the premade containers. Come on. lol Selection is low. Prices are high. Vegetable/fruits section could fit inside my bedroom. They close before my bedtime. It certainly has food in it for sale, and the produce section is fresh, which is apparently more than you can always expect from a Floridian grocery store. It's small, doesn't have a fantastic selection -- although, to be fair, they have had some of the stranger items I've ever looked for to cook with -- but it's functioning, clean, and, again, FRESH PRODUCE ^^ Also, their flower selection can be pretty nice. read more
