A friend told me there were two Publix stores located across the street from each other. I needed to check this one out. This has to be the largest Publix I have ever been in. When I went in, they had a Catering counter that had two people working it. I have never seen such a thing. The fresh fruit area where you get your sandwiches other items is more extensive than any location I have ever been in. No, I'm not saying that this store is humongous, but it is larger than the normal. The other thing that really surprise me was that they were better stocked than any Publix I have ever been in. I found quite a few items that I wanted to get, but I wasn't gonna be home For quite a few hours and did not want everything sitting in my car all day. Yesterday I went to this store on Friday November 14, 2025. I was on the bleach aisle and I asked the employee on the bleach aisle for some help. That was the worst decision I made. I told her that I needed the Clorox no splash scented. She looked at all of them and said there weren't any there. Later I found out she was wrong. The one's she told me weren't scented were actually scented. This old woman got an attitude early on in the conversation. She said there were some bleaches in the wrong spot under the incorrect label. She said no you don't know how it is. Dumb woman. I used to work at a grocery store stocking groceries, and also working in the frozen food department/dairy department, but she thinks that I don't know anything about labels. read more

This particular Publix location is in the SODO part of Orlando not far from the hospital and while the parking lot was sizable, parking was a bit tough because the store was rather busy with shoppers. Publix has become an iconic supermarket chain here in the southeastern United States. I would have to attribute their success to several things, though most notably I would point to their amazing customer service. In addition, Publix has some great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals, clean, bright locations good quality bread in their bakery (something someone from the northeast like myself can appreciate) and we cannot forget their fantastic subs, which are affectionately called Pub subs. Unlike other supermarkets, Publix has a good number of cashiers so long lines in Publix are rather rare. I like that Publix understands that by putting the customers first, Publix has flourished. I would recommend this particular location. As I had said, parking can be a bit rough, but even if it is busy, they will get you out in a timely manner. read more

This relates to the Pharmacy. I understand that these are difficult times for employees, and I try to be patient. However, when you pay for your medication in advance on the Publix app and they state you can skip the line and go directly to the prepaid window for pickup, if this isn't applicable on a certain day, management needs to put up a sign or a notice for its prepaid customers! Case in point - there were six people in line at the pharmacy. I went straight to the Prepaid window as directed in the app. I was told by the employee I had to get in line. I mentioned the statement on the app and she still said I had to get in line. Of course, you can imagine the looks I got from the people waiting in line! I went to the manager and I was told that due to the Pharmacy being short-staffed today, I needed to wait in line. I understood, but couldn't management put up a sign AT LEAST stating "Prepaid walk ups are not available today. Please wait in line." I wasted 15 minutes trying to get my prepaid medication. Not sure I'll use the Publix Prepaid app again given you may never know when they will honor their promise. read more

Stopped by at 11:15am to grab the buy one get one deli soup. But sadly they were out of everything except the chicken tortilla soup which I love! I think I took what was left. Gets me upset because we promote it on your ad if you are not going to have ANY at 11:15am. I even went before so I could avoid the lunch rush and so I wouldn't miss out on the soup but nope nothing. This Publix stays busy. This is one of the only publix's that I know that have Chinese. It is also the closest Publix to me that has a pharmacy, and if you didn't know some prescriptions like antibiotics they will fill for free. I have never had any problems at this Publix I used to go there on the regular because it was close to my job. The only downside I would have to say is the parking. I've never once stepped foot into a Publix I didn't like. This one is no exception. This one has an couple of added bonuses wroth a neighboring liquor store, a huge hot deli area with Chinese food along with their normal awesome offerings, and ample parking. Looking for a quick dinner, grab the rotisserie chicken dinner package for just twenty bucks and call it a night. We've had a few get together at our home and the catering trays are always a hit, as are their dessert options, like cupcakes. People see that white and green Publix box and just know dessert is gonna be good! Overall: A Happy to have this awesome chain back in our lives and just down the road. read more

A guy walks up with a bunch of lotto tickets and they take him before me when he just walked up with lotto tickets won't be going back to this Publix. Absolutely ridiculous on a Sunday afternoon I was there to get propane For the grill. And they take lotto tickets in front of paying customers. Extremely poorly managed Publix. I immediately call the store and tell them about my situation and all they said was "sorry about that, you can come in and get a refund or a replacement." even after I told the gentleman on the phone that my lunch break had ended and I couldn't return it to the store. If you were wondering YES this is the Publix with the Chinese Kitchen! The savior of your tastebuds who want quick serve Americanized Chinese food without having to order takeout or spend a lot of $$. That service is open until 8. Other than that the store is a typical Publix and is always always busy. I do wish their produce section wasn't squashed behind the health and beauty aisles. It doesn't really make sense to shop for bananas then pile some shampoo on top. And sometimes the produce items run low or out (fruit bowls etc). read more

I do not shop at this Publix that often since it is not close to home. But driving by on the way home after work last night, I decided to stop in and visit the Deli section to buy something for dinner. What I like about this Publix location is the Chinese cuisine section in the deli. Featuring dinners and soups, you can purchase a Chinese Dinner #1, with one meat item, or a Chinese Dinner #2, with two meat items, with a choice of either rice or noodles. I selected the chicken and broccoli with noodles ($6.99). You get plenty of both, and the chicken and broccoli was still hot when I got home and was delicious! The broccoli and carrots were crisp, and the white meat chicken was cut into large strips. No skimping here! I was disappointed that egg rolls were not available. I remember years ago coming here and buying egg rolls with lunch. I did, however, buy a tuna/salmon sushi combo ($7.49) for a appetizer. The sushi was firm to the bite, and came with ginger slice and wasabi. The wasabi had to be some of the hottest wasabi I have ever had! I thought the back of my skull was about ready to blow off when the wasabi kicked in! But hey, I like the heat! The deli here is one of the few favorite things I like about this Publix location. They have much to offer, and the selection of cheeses and salads here are fantastic. As well as the bakery. And both areas are spacious, with items on special set on tables throughout with much space to move through with your cart. Unlike some Publix stores I have been to in which the table displays and aisles are tight, with little space to move around in. A few things I do not like about this Publix? The parking. Being in a big shopping plaza with many other businesses, you really need to be careful when driving through the parking as vehicles are coming in and around from several directions. As for the Publix parking lot, it is big. Really big! Make that really (expletive here) big! And every time I park here, it is usually in the very back of the lot. I got lucky last night, however. I was able to park close to the store. But as I said, you have to be careful with the traffic. Even when you walk in the crosswalk to the entrance, there are cars coming at every direction. Another thing I do not like about this Publix is that I have had panhandlers in the past approach me as I am going to my car with my shopping cart. And on one afternoon, I had a panhandler approach me as soon as I made a transaction on the Publix Presto! ATM. And as I walked to the entrance last night, there was someone hanging around the ATM. I would most likely shop here if this location was closer to home. And I really like their deli. But navigating through the plaza parking to the Publix does not make it a pleasure. Especially when someone is hitting you up for money as you walk to your car. By the way. This Publix has a liquor store with a separate entrance. Which makes it convenient. Then again, I remember when the old Albertson's super market was nearby with a liquor store. And it always seemed like I had problems with panhandlers there as well. Gee. I wonder why? read more

This is my neighborhood Publix so maybe slightly biased review, but I love it! They dominated a strawberry chocolate cake that I ordered for my partner and also was complete in a timely manner. It's the only Publix in close proximity with the Chinese bar as well but the service and the entire store is always well kept. read more

This is a great Publix. It's not my all time favorite but that is more a matter of personal preference than anything else. First of all, the store is expansive. It's probably the largest Publix close to downtown. The others on Eola and Shine are much, much smaller. This is both a good and a bad thing. The nice part is that this Publix has a bigger selection of many things than its smaller counterparts. They have a very large produce section, a meat section that wraps around an entire corner, and one full aisle of ethnic foods (both sides of the aisle). In addition to Publix subs and chicken they also have hot Chinese food takeout and an Olive Bar. There is even a seating area where you can eat your food instead of taking it home. They also have a full service floral department and a large organic section. The only bad part about the size of the store is that if you forget something as you go through the aisles you may be in for a long walk to get back to where you need to be. Parking can be a challenge during busy times and I suggest that you enter from the end of the parking lot furthest from the store and avoid driving right in front of the doors to avoid pedestrian delays. Regardless, the friendly staff, clean store and large selection of items far outweigh any challenges associated with shopping here. read more

I don't understand all the praise for Publix! Grocery stores in every other part of the country make this place look like Walmart ( with out their prices). Try Wegmans in NY, Kroger in lots of places, HEB in Texas, Ralphs on west coast. Come on - their produce selection is terrible, meats are overpriced, bakery is awful and bland, and their service....really? Where shopping is a pleasure?? The only thing they do differently from Walmart is ask you if you found everything ok. If you say that you didn't - they don't know how to respond. And why are all of the Publix stores layed out differently? Why isn't beer with wine instead of toilet paper?? Why are the toiletries next to produce? Why do they promote the heck out of their BOGOs instead of just offering a fair price? Why do they have those annoying entrances that are at either end of the building (some not all are like this)? I could go on but what's the point? I now shop at Aldi, Target, and Lucky's market. Publix won't get my money any more!! read more

Prior to Publix remodeling this store they always had a stock issue (empty shelves and none of the items on sale). Since the remodeling it is WORSE!!! Unable to find anything at this store, their app doesn't work letting you know what isle items are on, the store is NEVER stocked, can't find a thing. The set up is ridiculous. Planning a cookout tonight and needed sliced cheddar so purchased a package. Opened it up and it is nearly COMPLETELY GREEN WITH MOLD. I have not been in there for a couple of years as I have in the past found moldy strawberries with the advise "purchase at your own risk", bugs in the pasta and rice, and packaged salad that went off and was slimy before its printed expiration date. Just to mention some of it. Went there today for convenience and I will NEVER buy anything there again. I have started using Shipt just to avoid going here. The service is slow and no one helps you. Also they are always out of stock and produce is not fresh. The meat manager is looking for fresh meat, if you know what i mean. I was assisting with organizing a work event on a time crunch last week, and the deli agreed to make a platter for me on short notice. I walked into this store after work to place my order, and generally they request 24 hours in advance for platters but took my order anyway and said they would do their best to have it ready by early morning. I arrived promptly at 7 the next morning and was so thankful when they handed me the beautifully prepared veggie arrangement. It made something I was so stressed about completely stress free, and they went out of their way to get it done. Prior to that I was on my way to visit a friend for dinner and stopped here to look for some last minute items. I was looking for a specific canned good without tomatoes since my friend is allergic, and although we could not find the item, I had no shortage of help. The district manager was there visiting for the day, which I didn't know when I approached a group of store managers to ask for assistance. I literally had a group of store managers (including the district manager) walk me around the store to hunt for the item. Talk about customer service and feeling valued! I have had fantastic experiences in this store and highly recommend shopping here. The service is second to none, and the quality is hard to beat! read more

My daughter and her family live near this Publix location. Several times before making the drive up from Palm Beach County, I've ordered sandwich and party platters from my home to pick up when I arrive in Orlando. In the back of my mind, I worried that maybe my order wouldn't be ready and that I'd show up empty-handed to my daughter's house. No worries! Every single time, my order is ready and waiting when I come in to pick it up. The orders are always correct as well. I was somewhat impressed by the fact that there was a dedicated area to place and pick up orders next to a refrigerator designated to hold customers' orders. In addition, I was able to pay at the place I picked up my platter so I didn't have to wait in line at the check out stand. An older gentleman was singing Christmas songs near the cafe as a mom and little girl danced a bit to the music. Don't remember if I ever enjoyed going to the grocery this much ever. read more

Every Publix I've been to has great customer service but this Publix in particular always makes me feel so good to be a customer. I bought some meat that went bad before it was supposed to and I brought a picture of it in to exchange it for a new pack. The butcher had to be standing where I was looking and offered to cut me a fresh cut. Then when I took my. We meat to the customer service desk, the two employees there were very helpful and didn't give me any trouble. The whole process took less than 10 mins and I was in & out. I'm writing this review for 2 reasons, first if you want a fabulous cold sub, go to Publix (most any of them will do). You get alot of meat and toppings, and can opt for Boar's Head meats to make it really good. Secondly, if you ever need dry ice, for a party or whatever, you can get it here. That saved me from traveling all over Orlando and spending way too much for a simple party effect, and I'll never forget them for it! read more

Ohhhh how this USED to be THE Publix of all Publix's in the area. Not any more. Since Albertson's closed down (was located on the other side of the shopping center), this great Publix has gone to hell and back. The glory days are now gone. I've been hassled by panhandlers in the parking lot AND in the store! The mix of people is quite strange as well. You've got people getting out of work with nice business clothes on coming here to get stuff...and then you have bums with torn up clothes standing next to you just fingering the meat. WTH?! Also there's been a shooting here recently. I've even noticed some of the employees being nasty to customers and even snickering behind others backs. It's really quite a terrible scene. Publix really did itself a disservice by running Albertson's out of business. I've honestly come to the point where I'll go out of my way to go to a different further away Publix than this one. Only emergencies will I go back in. Plus the meats and produce are wayyy over priced for the quality. Freshfield Farms right across the street has wayyyy better product for less than half the price. read more

In addition to the all the shopping convenience and bogos Publix always promises, this location has a Chinese to-go section near the Deli. When I don't want to cook after all my streeenuous shopping, I grab some fried rice and orange chicken to go! This location often has local companies sampling their food and offering coupons to buy new items. The most convenient thing for me about this store is that it's so close to Fresh Field Farms. First of all I have been shopping at this grocery store, this location specifically, most of my fifty-something years on this planet. It used to be a good place to shop. Even three or so years ago I would have rated this store a solid 3.5 or 4 stars easily. Now, the few positives are far outweighed by the negatives. Frankly, I only continue to shop here out of convenience and habit. I have to insert here that many, if not most, of the problems with this store are due to policies and decisions that come from their corporate leadership. The whole chain is now driven almost entirely by selling shelf space to vendors and automated inventory and pricing decisions. The results for the consumer are disastrous at best. A few specific complaints: canned and dry goods, the stocking of specific items is very inconsistent. One week they may carry an item, the next there may not even be a shelf space. Items that are marked with a critical "use by" date are often close dated or even out of date. Items are moved around and placed arbitrarily in places that are hard to find or understand the logic of. Cans and boxes often look like they were dragged behind a truck. Meat department, extremely inconsistent quality. Meat products are often close to or out of date, or look like they should be. Dairy, not terrible, although they try to hard to stock too much variety. Again, product placement is horrendous and changes constantly, some products close dated or out of date. I see a lot of products, particularly cheese, and some other dairy, that have clearly been allowed to be at room temp for some time then re-refrigerated, diminishing quality and shelf life. Produce, not terrible, mostly mediocre quality. One big problem, occasionally, they will have large quantities of some items, particularly avocados, that are clearly dramatically overripe sitting out for sale, WTH? Bakery, mostly mediocre at best, most baked goods are not nearly done and doughy in the center with lousy crust. Deli, this is probably their strongest area. Amazing fried chicken and chicken tenders and very good subs. Also, their chicken salads are decent. However, the selection of deli meats is inconsistent and has some holes, like why not stock the good Boarshead brand brisket pastrami? Or the Publix brand low sodium Turkey? Flowers and seasonal items are just okay. The pharmacy is decent, probably better than most now, but my experience is limited. My last, and one of my biggest complaints, the disparity in inventory and price from one store to another. I routinely shop at at least six different locations for various reasons and it makes me nuts. I understand that the downtown store at Shine and Colonial is small so, okay, they're not to have everything. But Orange Ave., Winter Park, Conway, Andover, South Semoran and Alafaya are all pretty big stores so when items that are staples in our house like Monas granola, Bon Maman jams, Clausen pickles, Wickles, some Cento tomatoes, and more, are in one store but not another, or they're in totally different locations it makes no sense. Or some products like seafood or produce will be a completely different price or quality. Some products have completely disappeared, like Simply cranberry juice in small containers or quart size seasonal Indian River brand O.J. and others. Anyway, sorry to get so specific but this stuff drives me crazy. So, now I spend the time to go to Whole Foods, Fresh Market, Walgreens, Target and others to fill in the gaps. I am trying more and more to quit shopping here since it is increasingly frustrating. read more

This is by far my favorite Publix! It is always so clean, well organized, well staffed and truly where shopping is a pleasure. Today, I went to get wings and they didn't have them ready. I didn't mind to wait since I enjoy walking around this store as well. It took longer than expected and Kailey from the deli, gave me the wings for free because of the wait.
