I decided to go to Publix for lunch because they have the best selection of food. Well, the first thing I noticed was there She Crab Soup! I had to try some because it's difficult to find in this area. Oh my goodness! The creamy broth, chunks of crab meat with just the right amount of seasoning. This was a great lunch! My mouth and soul is satisfied. The price was great and it was really worth it.

This Publix appears to be a fairly new addition to the Colonial Square Shopping Center. This shopping center is located along US 301 (the road name is Boulevard). When you come up to the shopping center, you may not see the place right away depending on what direction you are coming from, but once you get in the shopping center, it's a hard place to miss. It's been a few decades since I have been inside of a Publix supermarket. Currently, there are none down here in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. The travel time to get here was about two hours one way using US 460. Once we came inside, the place was quite large. There is even a Starbucks inside here as well as a sandwich shop. The store is extremely clean and well maintained. It was nice and bright as well, which you don't always find. The first stop here was to go to the pharmacy, as that was the main reason for taking the longer trip, since some of the prescriptions my mom takes are free here (as opposed to paying $60-$70 elsewhere here locally). After visiting the pharmacy, they said it would be about 15-30 minutes for them to be ready, which was no big deal since we wanted to explore the store anyways. While waiting for the prescriptions to be ready, it was time to explore. There is quite a selection of items to be found here. We found some items that are hard to find at home, so we did get some of those items to take home. You would also find many items you would find at other supermarkets as well, but one thing I did notice is that there weren't as many private label items as I thought there would be. Overall, this was a great supermarket to visit. Until Publix makes their debut in Virginia Beach or the Hampton Roads area, I will make the trip up to here every few months for my mom's prescriptions, along with searching for more stuff I can't find at home. If you are in the area and looking for some grocery items, this is definitely the place to go. Don't forget any competitor coupons, as they take them too.

When we visit my mother-in-law in Virginia, it's great to be able to still visit Publix for my groceries. We try to cook for her when we are there and as always Publix has the ingredients we are looking for to prepare our recipes. While the layout of this store is different than the Publix we have at home, it's still easy to navigate and find what you are looking for. The staff are helpful and quick to answer questions.

I was having a serious craving for some crab legs, but didn't want to go to a restaurant. While driving pass Publix I decided I could get them from there. When u walk in to Publix you immediately smell all the goodness from the food they prepare and bakery. I decided to walk pass the prepared food and everything was looking fresh and delicious. The staff all spoke and ask how I was doing. The seafood department had a small line because there seafood selection is really good. I got my crab legs at $13.99 a pound, they steamed them for me too. While waiting for the crab legs to steam I walked around the store. Their produce section looks beautiful. I brought some fruit. While browsing I noticed they have signs that say responsibly sourced throughout the store. They also have signs that tell you if the product was farmed in the USA. As I walked around more staff spoke and asked if I needed assistance. There meat selection also looks good and they were having a sale on steak and pork, that I thought was really good. This was a pleasurable shopping trip, the staff is friendly, the food looks fresh and pretty, and my crab legs were GREAT.

Clearance treasures!

When will the Williamsburg store be open we are getting desperate?

I was up at the Publix in Short Pump, VA a few weeks ago. When I had asked some there about it, they said it might be in 4Q18, but could be 2019 as well. There is no firm date yet from Publix about it. I'm hoping they make it down here to Va.… Read more

This is for the Pharmacy. My dog was recently diagnosed with epilepsy so I'm fairly new with the…read morerules and regulations of picking up certain medications. I tried picking up Phenobarbital for him at least 8 days before he runs out just in case they're out of stock or they are hard to refill(an issue we had with his emergency meds at this location.) I was told by a young girl who helped me out (who was talking to a man on the side) that it was way too early and to come back 4 days later to pick up. Did just that this past Monday. Was turned away once again, told it's still early and come back tomorrow(today which is Tuesday.) I dropped by and was helped by an older lady who actually checked to see if they had the Pheno in stock. She said they didn't and had to order a refill. I asked her what to do for future reference(to save all these stupid trips back and forth empty handed) and she explained to call in 4 days ahead for a refill and come two days before it runs out to pick up. Had I been explained that from the beginning, I feel like I would have gotten the prescription sooner. Idk if the younger girl was new but it would've been better to explain that to me. I'm really grateful for the woman who helped me out today so I know for the future because God forbid I cannot have access to my dog's meds before they run out. I really hope that NEVER happens or else THEY will have a BIGGER problem.

Called this afternoon and asked about bringing my 3 children in for their 2nd COVID19 vaccinations…read moreand was told to bring them in anytime between 2 and 3 PM today. I then went on to ask if those would be the walk in hours all week but was hung up on before I could fully get the question out, let alone answered. I pulled my kids from school and rushed to the Rite Aid to make it on time, arriving approximately 25 minutes until 3. The woman at the counter then told me that there are 3 people waiting on vaccinations and if they can't complete them and get us in before 3 PM they will not do the vaccinations. The woman then gave me 2 forms instead of the 3 I said I needed which led to having to get back into the line all over again and ask for one. Once I got back to the counter and asked for another paper they let me know that it is now 255 PM so they won't be giving us vaccinations. I asked the man at the counter whom I am almost certain is the person I spoke to on the phone why they would have not told me any of this when I called and said I would be bringing in my 3 children. He literally shrugged it off and said someone will let me know next time and walked off. There were also active duty servicemembers in line behind me prior to 3 PM who were also being turned away when asking for vaccines. Upon leaving I called into the location and asked for the name of the pharmacist on duty, the same man laughed and said that he is the pharmacist and his name is Brian. I asked about a last name and he laughed and said Taylor. He is not the person who initially answered the phone and put me on hold for about 8 minutes before he came on the line. After speaking with the corporate office they said this person likely gave me a fake name. A formal complaint was filed. This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had in a Rite Aid. Please do not waste your time and money on such trash service. They will literally tell you to come in just to turn you away once you get there.

With the influx of transferred people and current CVS patients picking up, it creates a long line that me, a pregnant woman about to pop, can't stand in for too long nor do I have the damn patience. I also have GD and have been trying to get a Glucose Monitor from them for the past Week and a half. Like someone else mentioned on here, ITS LIKE PULLING TEETH. So I've been attempting to transfer that RX to Walgreens. Even they can't manage that... Every time I call to get help, there is always this clueless pharmacist that seems like she literally doesn't give sh*t. I asked the status of the transfer, she replies "Oh LoOkS LiKe ItS bEiNg TraNsFerReD" "Yes, is that transfer pending still or what is the status?" "Its Transferring." WOW GOOD JOB. THANKS FOR THE HELP MORON. I don't know what her name is but she needs to work on her communication skills because I've been pretty clear about what I needed and she still manages to be confused some how. wtf.

THE WORST PHARMACY EVERRRR!!!!!!…read more If you actually need your medication don't count on this place to fill them in a reasonable time.... they don't care how long they take and blame the fact that the pharmacist had 30 flu shots to do which sounds to me like they don't prioritize their customers. After this month I will be pulling every prescription I have with them. I should not have to wait 7+ hours for a prescription to be filled.
