I happened upon this store on my way somewhere and decided to stop in. I'm really glad I did. I was…read morelooking for a decent Asian grocery in Beaufort and came up empty on Yelp. I was surprised then, to enter this name and see a page, but no review or photos. So I decided to put them on the radar for those also looking for options.
First, I will say I was pleasantly surprised. It was small, but the more I explored, the more I saw they really had some decent basics. It is 50% Filipino grocery, and 50% a mix of Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai. The only thing they lacked really, was fresh produce. I will say it has your basics, and don't expect any megastore experience. But the owners/workers are very pleasant and nice (and wore face masks during this crazy time, as did I), and helpful. I didn't even see the kimchi in the fridge, but when I asked, the woman pointed it out. Unfortunately, it's a small jar of a brand name, and at a price not surprising for a small grocery (same as what I could buy for a quart of homemade elsewhere). So it's not the best bargain for kimchi, but if you're desperate like I am, I'll bite this time.
The rest of the store had 2 large fridges and 2 large freezers stocked with wrappers, ice cream, fish, etc. The shelves stocked your rice, mirin, rice vinegar, kewpie mayonnaise, salted black bean sauce, snacks, spices, Filipino vinegars, some ramen packages, canned veggies, etc. They also have a small collection of cookies and candy, teas. It was clean and bright, and I made note of what they had in case I was in the area and needed something.
Definitely check them out!
