I have been a long time renter with Public storage on 10 Mile Rd & Ryan In Warren, Mi. Everyone is very professional and kind at this location. Recently I had the pleasure of speaking with ps employee Donald, he was very helpful & professional. I was ready to look for a new storage facility, but with the help of Donald, and his excellent customer service, he was able to lower my rent a little, and that helped me a great deal. The ceiling is coated with some kind of sprayed on insulation that falls into your belongings. The prices keep raising monthly. The website advertised $126/ month for same size unit they are charging me $293 a month! The introductory price is for limited time and they don't tell you for how long upfront. They finally filled the huge potholes in the drives but only with loose asphalt so won't last long. read more

I received a discount for using online to rent; which came back and bit me in the tail end. my monthly rent went from $131 to $195 after 3 months. They pretty much forced me to pay for getting a discount. I'm still paying $195 for a unit that's $113 advertised. The light in the unit never worked, even when I replaced the light bulb. This leaves me to believe the power is turned off to the units; so it's not well lit. my door jamed when I opened it. And lastly, their customer service skills about business matters are disgustingly poor. read more

This is the worse company to ever do business with. I started a contract with them 11/8/2023. When I arrived at the location they'd put my unit on the second floor after I'd advised them I'd be moving alone and could not use a second floor unit. I cancelled my service as soon as I arrived 11/9/2023. I connected with both the staff at the location as well as the corporate office over the phone. They were to issue me a refund via check. Today is 1/11/2024, after assuring me a full refund would be received, they now tell me that my refund will be reduced by 29.00 for an admin fee for a service I NEVER received after again assuring me a full refund in both November and December. Not only that, now I have to wait 6-8 more weeks for my money to be returned to me. This company is horrendous. I don't recommend anyone ever use this service. read more

if i could give this place a zero star i would the worst service all of my belongings were damaged and of no use i went to get my things from storage and raccoons and rats had been living in my unit all of my furniture was covered in bowel and urine and fuid my tv knocked down leaks from the openings in the ceiling i paid every month and they did nothing they didnt even make the tenet to the right and left of me aware that the same animals was crawing through the same openings as mines its really unfortunate i have nothing left outside of my deceased brother belongin and some photos they didnt offer any type of help and still wanted to charge me to remove my belongings no compassion was shown no empathy when we go to storage's because we need a safe space to place our belongings and i know have nothing i pray nobody else experience this do not use this place read more

I reported the bottom of my unit door being rusted out and a piece hanging off the bottom 2 weeks ago I picked up my keys yesterday and it still had not been repaired. Afraid that when I move my things in that mice will get in. My husband left a message for the District Manager we have not yet had a response. read more

PUBLIC STORAGE SUCKS What a joke first off when i rented the space the gentleman at the counter offered insurance when i said i didnt want it i was told i have to. "So why was i given the option"? I ended up not having to pay insurance im pretty sure he was gonna pocket the insurance money and not insure my space. So i rent a space ask for 24 hour access and got approved then when i go to my storage to get a few things for camping, access was denied at the gate when i called customer support they had no way of letting me in no master code nothing. Trip was delayed now the storage that i rented on april 7 and emptied on august 6 they want to charge me for all of august! The whole experience was terrible! If I could give this a half a star, I would, but I can't so this will have to do. I have been renting a unit for the past year and I have had nothing but BAD experiences every time I go to get something out or try to talk to the manager. For one thing, she is NEVER there and leaves for at least 45 minutes at a time, so there is no accessibility. Another thing, this winter was the worst as nobody maintained the property and I had to dig through the snow with my hands just to open my storage unit door and spent 3 hours trying to close it because the lock was stiff from the cold and the woman inside refused to help because she was "off the clock." I'm leaving in the next few weeks when I can get a truck and even a few weeks is too long. I have involved corporate in my complaints, which seem to have fallen on deaf ears. Overall, the place is very poorly run and managed, so if you expect good customer service, you're going to the wrong place. read more

Been renting here now for a couple months my lightbulb in my unit one out approximately 2 to 3 weeks after I started renting. It's now been well over a month I have went in the office and requested for lightbulbs for approximately 5 to 6 weeks at this point and lady at the front desk said that she had to order them from California well it doesn't take a month and a half for a lightbulb to come from California to Michigan anyways I requested that she give me a discount on my unit and I will buy my own bulbs but she refused to do that I also asked if I could use one of the lightbulbs from the front office in my unit and she also refused to do that I feel that if I'm paying $200 a month for her unit the least they could do a supply me with a one dollar lightbulb. it's sad that I should even have to be writing about this but if you look at it realistically in Michigan it gets dark at 4 o'clock I can't See inside my unit sometimes they are open till six or 9 PM and it's pitch dark I can't see anything inside there. this facility has a wonderful manager named jackie. she is so sweet and polite and professional, a true darling to work with. AS A STORAGE UNIT BUYER at numerous facilities in the area, jackie is by far the most respectable person around. my review reflects 1 bad thing about public storage..... when reserving a unit they call EVERYDAY sometimes 2x a day to get you in. its very annoying and kinda rude. besides this issue i have not had any troubles with public storage minus the occasional doors jamming or locks sticking which happens anywhere. also i do not like that were forced to buy insurance. i feel we should have the option to decline it and sign a waiver to accept all liability of this on our own if we dont want insurance. to finalize my review.... 3 stars reflects the above mentioned and reflects one other issue.... COST!! i feel that public storage rates are kinda higher then most facilities which is why i dont rent from them monthly instead use them a few times a yr as a spare facility. i feel public storage should be more competitive on the rates and offer price matching or better promos besides the $1 promo which isnt always available. so besides these issues i must say that the district manager chantell is very amazing and caring, jackie is also amazing, other facilities i have been at also have good managers and employees. ive never once been disrespected or treated unfairly. i will continue to do business with public. read more

I rented two large storage units in January 2015. I've rented at Public Storage many times. This years experience has been the worst. I have had no access to one of my units because of the inability of this facility to properly maintain the snow and ice this winter. Jaclyn, my customer service rep has tried to help but her hands are tied by the owners of the facility. I was there yesterday and because of the snow piled up in front of my 2 unit doors, there is no way to even get the doors open. I run a small business and access to my inventory is crucial. I called the main office for the Detroit area multiple times with no call backs. This is unacceptable. I expect to be able to access my storage units. I am told that it is my responsibility to shovel out my unit. They've lost a good customer. Don't rent from Public Storage. read more

If i could give 1/2 star I would but it doesn't allow it so 1 star will have to do. I have rented storage units a few times over the years and This location is by far the WORST!!! They have cost me extra money and if i could afford a truck to move my stuff to another place I would. This past month when I came to pay bill they office was closed Everytime, and it cost me extra because my lock got cut off (didn't have a credit card to pay online). Plus in the summer they replaced some of the cement in front of my unit and I received a letter stating it would be the door Not the cement. Well due to this I wasn't properly notified and my stuff wasn't able this be covered and my ENTIRE unit EVERYTHING in it is Covered in cement dust. So this has now cost me yet even More money. I'm soooo disgusted with this location and would Never recommend it to Anyone. And to add insult I had to download some Stupid app to be able to write a review, Ridiculous!!!! I'm thinking of Never using Public Storage again after this experience....I'll look into another company. read more
