Since I have had them if I am 30 minutes late or less..the moment that clock hits midnight and 1 minute after that at times...I have been saving all receipts shows time and date stamps.....you are hit with a fee of 15.00... That's just for the first minute late less the server is late...but I have thought i made it and when it processed the fee was applied many times...there there are two other late fee periods at the last time i checked...at the time by the 15th which i never got that far but once...you are at $50.00 in many states this treatment is illegal because a fine in this case is used as a punishment and to force you to use automatic payment Less it can be proven how the 1 or 30 minute late payment caused financial damage.. especially on a saturday night early am sunday...that treatment is generally illegal in many rental agreement in many states... Regardless of private or individual rental agreement..there are state laws that are suppose to be followed for certain items in a rental agreement that endless agreements do not follow because the end user does not know any better...and the landlords...leaser..takes huge advantages.. ....for over 2 year I didn't use auto payment and just about over half that time I was charged a fee for paying after midnight past the due date.. I work for myself so often I am on a project for close to 60 + hrs a week many timed closer to 80...so i am often not at home till just after midnight or later...and the time I get in earlier one can imagine the many things someone have to tend to while there is a minute or two I have had them on auto payment for a while now. Just last month my card was hacked and had to get a new card I have many things on auto payment..many...along with this is the season for my pretty much having to steal sleep...I did not remember to update the card.. I was sent a friendly reminder on the first via text....I was at work...I didn't get in till just after 12 and came directly to pay and update and I had a fee at 12 30...which means at 12 01 the fee was already there... I sent a message to reverse the fee...no call..no responses... Over the year I left it alone. Though I have asked a few times..i have been ignored.....this is just too much...if they are doing this to me..they are doing thus to their entire client base..in some way allowed..or not allowed but u have to know its wrong.... Sure I can leave..sure...its not about that actually...its about a company abusing it customers..even after I leave...many will still pay out millions a year in total from client base in unscrupulous late fees... Something needs to be done.. If there are laws or lack of laws in certain states that allows this abuse...anyone reading this and able to help renters of such facilities be treated fairly. Please do so I have dealt with many storage places..I currently have storage at two different companies all abiding by the late fee laws of rental. The lowest is 5 days.... I have had them for years and i gave in to auto payment a few years back to avoid 1 minute late fees... I was furious when I had a situation and thought i was taking care if thing to find at 12 34 am on the second I was not paying 89..but 104.00... This abuse is just not sitting right with me and for all those who don't know how or what to do when they get abuse... LET OUT A LOUD YELP!!!

It doesn't seem logical to me because of possible theft, vandalism, or any other type of natural calamity. But I took a chance because I desperately needed the room in my house. Well I'm glad I did! Because 1-800-Self-Storage in Melvindale helped change my thinking on this and put my mind at rest. The safety and security measures they have in place offer the peace of mind I was looking for in a facility. Multiple levels of security reassure the customer that their valuables are safe. And their employees are a large part of that experience. They are very helpful and courteous too. The manager, Amber, was especially helpful as she walked me through the process and handled my every concern with patience and respect. I was pleasantly surprised. My husband and I walked in and there was one employee sitting in front of a computer on the phone…read more He never looked up or acknowledged we were there for more than 2 minutes, just him poking a computer a few times obviously getting an error message on it, beep, beep, not one word said to whomever was on the phone...utter silence.I start to ask him a question about renting a space, he looks up at me , " I'm on the phone with a customer" rude as all heck! (Hubby already walking to the door) I told him how rude he was that we weren't even acknowledged when we came in. That we were pretty much ignored and that it's freaking ridiculous! My husband waves goodbye and says bye bye you just lost business and the guy says we don't want business from people like you. Really? This employee was an older man. There is a coded gate for entry and Teri lives on the premises which adds an additional sense of security.
