I would avoid public storage. The gate was wide open for a couple months. You can't use the on sight dumpster to take care of your belongings you want to throw away. The process to end your rent is a absolute nightmare. They dont have a way to get in contact with corporate. Corporate called and I told them I am done. The property manager acted like she is paying ME to use the unit IM renting out. She is not helpful and is rude to me because I was asking questions because I've explicitly told her this is my first time using a storage facility. They said online I can get a refund on the lock, but Simone said we HAD to use their lock because she told my bf we had to use a specific key or something. Which I know i BS, but we didn't want to waste our time bothering with her and talk to her again. If it wasn't for the price and location, I wouldn't have rented this damn unit. Please work on training your employees about "customer service" because the experience we had was terrible. read more

When renting here I learned the following: 1) you do not need to use their lock - and they will be charging you for that lock even though they don't mention it. 2) Your homeowners/renters insurance will most likely cover your unit contents. You probably don't need their insurance. If you take their insurance they'll charge you for the 1st month even if you only have it on your account for a few hours. 3) The units aren't lit. In the winter you'll need to bring a flashlight. 4) The customer service here is pretty strange. It's like they think they're doing you a favor by being at work. read more

We rented a storage unit for my mom here for about 5 months. Nice location (easy in, easy out right off of 15 Mile behind Oakland Mall). The property was clean and well kept up, the unit stayed dry, and the staff I dealt with over the five months we had the unit were helpful and friendly. You do need an email to rent the place (which posed a bit of a problem for my 85+-year-old mother...but they had no problem with using my email address, and I had no problem accessing her account to pay the bill each month online). Emptied the unit today and closed out the account. No muss, no fuss. I'd go here again if I am ever in need of a unit for temporary storage. read more

I suppose a storage unit is a a storage unit. But what makes a great experience here is the customer service. The prices are competitive, and the facilities are good. We had a a large drive up unit, 10x25 ft, and it was easy to access, and in good condition. I would recommend them if the location is convenient for you. read more

So much is happening with my move..move date has come and gone twice and these are the time when I'd like to be settled because of the weather. Moving so fast on move in day...I forgot what time I was suppose to be there Simone reminded me and kindly gave me an extension. Before she showed me the unit, she asked me a few questions just to make sure I requested a large enough unit..before purchasing the unit, wallet was not in the purse..she helped me calm down and reassured that things will be find...suggestively offered and sold needed items for storage. Rude manager with zero communication skills, hidden prices for moving in, mandated lock styles you must to buy from them, mandated expensive insurance you must buy from them, your first month will not cost a dollar but likely much higher than your online monthly rent quote because of several hidden move in fees, and monthly rent rate increases with zero warning. My rent increased $6 over night in first month ok not too much. Now my rent is increasing $20 with one month notice after only being there 3 months. They released this info right after I paid for this month so now I have to leave before this month is up to avoid the $20 dollar increase, cannot get a pro rate and will thus be paying for this unit and the new cheaper nice manger unit at the same time. Total mess of hidden expenses conveyed by rude people. The code box is also not located in a spot that allows you to drive up, you must get out of car to exist.
