I made a reservation online in Sept 2025 to move in December 2025 & entered all my info incl my credit card. A 2 days later, I cancelled it because I'm no longer moving to Valencia, CA from Indiana, instead I decided to move to NY to my sister due to health issues. Public Storage charged my card for processing which is fine but they also charged for Dec. 2025 & now Jan 2026. They claimed because I reserved the storage even though I didn't move, I still have to pay for December & January. I disputed but now they sent me to collection for no pay with late fees. I called their 800 # and they transferred me to 6-7 people telling me I have to pay because I reserved the space even though di didn't move. I need help! read more

After having used Public Storage at two different locations for several years, I ran into a problem this week with the phone app no longer working to open access gates or unlock doors. I went in and spoke to the woman at the front desk, who offered to "check the settings on my phone" from behind the counter where I couldn't see what she did exactly. The changes she made did not work, but the next morning I received an email thanking me for my 5-star Google review the prior day (saying, "Gloria is the best!"). It seems that while she was "checking my settings", she was also leaving herself a positive review from my phone/account. Very unprofessional and manipulative. Now, I'm trying to figure out what else she may have done to my phone. read more

It is a shame that I even have to give this place a 1 star in order to leave a review. Called to make a reservation to see a unit. I show up to the facility at the appointment time that was designated for me. Knocked on the locked door for 15 minutes before someone came out. The property manager Gloria comes out and rudely says she is on her lunch. Proof of the reservation was showed to her for our appointment and she just states, "no one told me." She displayed absolutely no compassion and was highly disrespectful. I had to ask what time I could return. I returned in the next hour at 2:00 once I asked if that time works for her. When I walked into the facility there was no greeting and no apology for the fact we had an appointment that was completely over looked. Shortly after I was notified that the unit we were coming to see was gone. No one called to reach out to notify. Gloria the property manager made comments to me stating "I'm not sure if you even work" due to us coming to our SCHEDULED appointment on the same time she took her lunch break. We drove a hour for this appointment. If you want someone who has a good heart watching over your personal belongings...do not go here! I wish i could leave zero stars because of how unreliable this place is. CARLY had told us that we could pay online, because it "didn't matter" how we paid as long as we paid. After reserving our unit & about to pay she decides to call us and tell us that she rented out OUR unit to someone else in person, after we told her we were paying online. The one we were rushing to pay for. Worst customer experience EVER. Worst customer service worker i have EVER come across. It IS first come first serve, yet we were the first & they turned us AWAY. We were left STRANDED, uhaul full of items with nowhere to go because she decided to rent the unit to someone whiter & richer. Didn't know this is how you treated your customers of color. The facility looks very secure, with coded entry to both gate and building. Carts were made available to easily move your belongings into your storage, the rules and procedures are clear and easy to follow, and I highly commend the lady staff who was there yesterday. Do not use!!!!! Price increase every few months by at-least $ 75-$100.00 per month. After using for 2 months it was increased an additional $100.00 and every few months same thing. Good: Facility and unit were very clean Bad: I rented a unit for 5 months, and at NO point was I made aware that the lock they give you is actually yours to keep and that the unit will not be closed out unless you take the lock with you. The lock says "Public Storage" on it and I assumed that they had access to the unit still. I was in the middle of a move when I got everything out of the storage unit, so I figured I would close out the account the day after the big move, just because it was one less thing to think about. Only THEN do they tell you that you need to retrieve the lock. I'm in the busy process of getting settled in so I don't make it all the way across town to get the lock for about a week and a half, aware that I will need to pay a late vacate fee. On July 4th I got the lock, and I was charged the FULL rate for the entire month of July. I called to see if I could get July refunded and pay a late vacate fee and they absolutely would not budge, insisted that they had to charge for the full month, even though I can GUARANTEE you they will rent that exact unit out today if someone comes along. So here I am paying for a full month of storage that I am not using, all because they don't tell you up front that you have to take and keep the lock that they provide you. It's just no way to treat someone who just gave you months of business and over a thousand dollars. Totally ridiculous. read more

During the COVID 19 pandemics they chose to increase rental prices and then when I moved out on the 10th of the month they told me they DO NOT prorate the rental fees and reimburse you for the days not rented. ZERO STARS!!! This place is garbage, I once caught an employee smoking a joint in their car which is whatever, I also have done a weed so that alone isn't terrible. There were rat feces in my storage when I moved out and I didn't store any food in there. Also they billed me the month after I closed the storage unit and sent me to collections without notifying me of the bill. Good thing the gate stores when the last time you entered the premises was because they tried to lie like dogs when I contested it. Unsatisfactory business ethic, no moral standard, drug use by employees on premises in view of clients and I'm sure the list grows outside of my own experience. This storage place is very bad and over priced. Where do I start. Well first of all,the girl that works there was always out of the office. She would never leave anything on the office door when she will be returning. At times I had to wait for her for 30 min. And restroom was always out of service. And the worst of it all it is VERY OVER PRICED.Did I mentioned they raised their prices. I used to pay a little over $300 for a big storage and in the last 4 months,they raised their price to $400 and late fees for even higher. And when when I was late,yah I understand I had to pay the late fees,but when it came to the 20th they were charging me for the next month's and was not due till the the beginning of the month. So I had to to pay for my late payment and my next payment or else it was gonna go on auction. They give you no chance to pay for it. Took my stuff out and ever again will I go back there and I will jot recommend this storage place to anyone I know. read more

Beware!!! We've only used this storage facility for 4 months and went to vacate our belongings this weekend and our unit was burglarized. The boxes where tossed around and ripped through with blades. Our furniture was also damaged by their blade. When I went to the office to talk to someone, the employee could care less. She didn't even come out to the space to look and see what had happened. I was so upset. No apology, no empathy, nothing. She didn't even offer any supplies to help me pack up the disaster in my storage space. When I finally called her out on her horrible customer service, she said she was trying to give me time to cool down. Oh please. She wasn't surprised. She told me I wasn't the first person to complain of burglary this week. Apparently there were others this same week. What's really frustrating is when you rent the space, you are told how safe it is. Then they make you purchase a really expensive lock that's "tamper proof" supposedly. Then they make you buy insurance, you have no option to opt out and then this happens. They also tell you that the gate and door is locked. They have No Security to the storage spaces. Come to find out that the only security is the gate you drive through which anyone can jump. The reasoning behind this is because they don't want to lock anyone in the building should they be there late the employee claimed. What a dum excuse. Am I the only one who's heard of a security system for a door that will let you out but not back in??? Long story short, public storage basically washed their hands of us. They told me to contact the police for a police report and call the insurance company. They also didn't pro rate the rest of the month like they said they would. Finally I got a roll of tape and a few boxes from the office to pack everything up while my movers where slowly moving items that could be moved. She didn't even give me anything to cut the tape with. I had to use my keys to poke through the packing tape. Before I left I found out that the storage unit down the hallway also got burglarized. Come to find out there's a small space over each door that has a bar going across it. The bar was removed and the intruder just climbed in. The bars are just decorative. There's no welding or screws in between each bar. How are these people still in business. Be very careful. This facility is pretty isolated. I would think twice before renting a space here. read more

These people are the opitomy of bad business and the rudest people to deal with. As of now, they have my items inside of their facility and will not allow me to go in to retrieve my stuff without a moving truck. I have paid them for the month and they have no right to do this. Here's my story... First off, let me start by saying that they have do not have any trash receptacles on the premises so when I was moving in there was obviously a lot of stuff that I was still sifting through. I left a small pile behind, intending on picking it up to dispose of a couple hours later. Upon my return I could not enter the premises and the following day as well, until I spoke with the on site manager. Upon speaking with the rude individual and explaining that I intended on returning to dispose of the trash, they informed me that they were putting a child lock on my account and that I couldn't go in to my unit unless the office was open which is from 9am-6pm. That is ridiculous and I am supposed to pay the same amount with these new rules that Mommy Public Storage has handed down upon me. What if I get off late and can't make it on time? And that my friend's is exactly what happened. A couple times I was able to make it before 6pm but when attempting to leave, the gate would not open and I had to contact them to open the gate remotely. Which was put into their warden's file. This happened approx. 3 or 4 times. Today, I was going there to organize the unit and I had my brother with me. Upon attempting to use their phone app to access the gate, it wouldn't work so I proceeded to type the gate code in when the screen said the words "Please See Manager". I went in and it happened to be the person I had spoken too before and she was being nice, even called me "hun" and told me I had to contact the District Manager. I called like 10 times and finally had an incoming call from a number which happened to be her. CLAIRE INGRAM, I could use words that start with A's, B's and C's to describe this evil T word but this isn't the platform to do it on. That's all going to be said on my podcast, "Made You Listen Show" on Apple, Google and Spotify podcasts. And I am going to design a specific T Shirt and sell it on madeyoulookla.com boycotting this orange brand. So, she told me a bunch of stuff that I didn't do, would not hear me out, put words in my mouth, spoke to me like I was her 2 -12 year old son and told me that I couldn't come onto the premises even though they were paid for the month. I am a mirror of what I see and oh boy did she get the devil in it's purest form once she crossed that line of no return. She is nothing but a mere liberal troll and needs to be fired. I asked to speak to her higher ups and was told to have a nice day and rudely hung up on. She needs to be fired and and lit on fire like they did the witches back in Salem, Mass, eaten by an alligator, accidentally slip into one of those crusher/grinders that rip couches to shreds, stoned and spit upon; anything to show this woman in a semi-powerful position whom abuses her power by being a control freak. There is no way in HELL that this sub human being is in any kind of relationship with another human being, because if she is I feel so sorry for that individual. They must be looking at the door every chance they get, thinking about how good life could have been; hating themselves every minute of their woke life, wishing they knew someone who sold fentanyl so they could just take some and die. writing this has allowed a positive therapeutic experience to take place. I do not wish harm on nobody, even the likes of her and used the mean words to allow a peace of mind to form. I'll end on this note...... They make you buy insurance for at least 10 dollars a month. So the price you see online make sure you know to add at least 10 dollars to it. Also they have a new locking system that mean you have to buy the lock form them. They do not give you any opinions ! read more

The staff is really nice and the property is nice and clean. The reason for the 1 Star review. They don't tell you that you HAVE to purchase their specific lock for the unit. They also don't tell you that you are REQUIRED to have insurance on the contents. Meaning my move in amount and monthly charge was more than I had planned on. I shopped them against a local company... bottom line, going elsewhere would've been cheaper. Lastly. I came in mid-month and ended up leaving, giving them more than 30 days notice, but because I vacated the unit after the 10th of the month, they didn't allow a prorated rent. I'm a little tweaked. Rented our unit in June 2017. Whopping $191 a month for a 10 x 8 unit. Not big by any means. March of 2018 it jumps to $210 a month. 9 months? DO NOT use this storage space!!! It is 12:56 pm on August 1, and my storage units are vacated. Public Storage told me I need to pay for the ENTIRE month of August to the tune of $275, even though I've moved out on the 1st. I refused to do so, and they said they will send me to collections. I can't wait - this will be a small claims action. Anyone want to join me? And I had to take my beloved expensive couch to the dump because it is infested with BED BUGS. It had been steam cleaned before it was put into storage, and I can guarantee you that there were no bedbugs in my house. Filthy dishonest place. Avoid at all costs!!! read more
