This dissatisfaction applies to only this Public Storage location. And not to be confused with any other. There is no follow up in the absence of others and I waited two months at least just to try to get the door adjusted and the weatherstripping was bad. Pointed it out basically got excuses and and decided to pull my car out of there. There's a saying customers can take months to find them and seconds to lose them That's what they got today. HORRIBLE treatment to any and all customers! ZERO STARS. CORPORATE is UNRESPONSIVE. I have contacted them on numerous occasions and emailed their customer service team as well - yet no response. Take your money and business elsewhere. Been a customer for barely 2 years and they tried to up my rent $100 yet you can clearly go online and purchase a new one for a difference of $5 from what I'm currently paying. Their gate has been broken for a month now and yet there has been ZERO NOTIFICATIONS to any of their customers regarding this and the change of hours to access their units - as this has now been limited. Spend your money elsewhere. Big corps don't care about people only dollar signs. Take your money to self owned companies where they actually care about their customers!! read more

BUYERS BEWARE!!! If I can give zero stars I would. I went to public storage on vandyke and metro between 16 I came there on 4-16-24 to rent a storage unit and they charged 185 for it plus 21.19 for the lock. My total fee was 206.19 after i paid the 206.19 I was told that rent was due the first of every month between the 1st and the 6th so I asked why was rent due so quick when it haven't been thirty days yet?!! I was then told that's how they charge and if I did not pay by the 6th that I would have to pay a late fee if I did not pay then I would get an eviction. And that's when I knew something was wrong. I came in for may 5-5-24 they ran a month special for 91.21my total pay was 297.39 before the month ended. Rent was due again 6-5-24 for 171 then realized I needed a bigger unit. So I moved my things out the last two weeks of June went back to storage public 7-3-24 because I wanted to pay for a full months rent I was told that I had to pay July rent of 171 before I could move out. I asked why when I already moved out of the unit previously. In order to get the new unit they would add 171 for a unit that I wasn't even in toward the new unit I was trying to get. All I had to pay toward the new unit was 184.65 but it was hassle total price was 355.65 for a new unit. I was told that I have to come in and let the manager know that I upgraded from one unit to another I asked why when you the information is on the computer?!! I left came back 7-5-24 to let the manager Malissa know that I was told let her know I upgraded she looked it up and said she see and told me that I owed a late fee and I asked how when I just paid for a new unit?! She goes on to say because I came in after the fourth that made it late for the 10 dollar charge at that point I was frustrated and asked for my money back she said I don't think they give refunds back but I'll check and see. She said I can give you 14 dollars back so I asked malissa to see a manager she said she was the manager so I asked who was above her she said her boss Dave and that he would be in a meeting until 3:00 and he will give me a call back if he's available. I asked for corporate spoke with someone and they told me that I was evicted from my unit. I said is that showing after I paid for my unit? He said saw where you paid they made a mistake and pushed the eviction button. I told him about the late fee and he said they don't charge late fees for moving another unit but it's a fee for moving into another unit. He said that someone from corporate will call me back. They never did. Malissa called back at 3 saying I can get back in my unit now. I sent an email to corporate no one responded. 5 minutes after the email I got a text letting me know don't forget to pay my rent my total pay from this horrible place was 835.04 I will be in contact withBBB. I'm very pleased with how convenient and easy it was to rent a unit at Public Storage. They have flexible hours to go to and from there. Also, the people working their are very nice and they make sure your all set with your storage units location and lock. I highly recommend Public Storage for anyone who needs a place to keep their belongings when you don't have room for them currentl. read more

We moved from out of state and needed something to store our belonging until we found a permanent place. I'm also a teacher and need seasonal storage of my supplies, so a storage unit was at the top of the list. The online system is easy to follow, and you can even do your whole rental agreement online. They leave a lock for you if you don't have one in your unit for your arrival. The outdoor units are easy to find and load/unload. I highly recommend public storage. read more

I had a great experience. Everything was so easy & I'm not a computer savvy person, but Public Storage made it very simple & convenient.

Great experience, had a storage unit for 4 months for in between a long distance move and they were the easiest part of my move! They prorated the first month, as soon as we closed on our house we let them know and we were able to be done at the end of the month (5days) without having to give them more notice! They would've only charged us $20 a day over if we needed a few days (which we didn't--not sure how it would've been if I needed a few days more financially--but they were always super considerate and fair with me! Super friendly service, I felt comfortable coming in the office to use the restroom when I needed, and got friendly conversations when I needed a break from the movers! Excellent, couldn't recommend more! read more

I had my deceased spouse things in a different storage unit however, it was always a problem when I came to get things from the unit etc. As a result I moved them to Public Storage. I have been so happy since I moved to the 36260 Van Dyke location... Betty the representative that helped me took me around showed me different units that would accommodate my needs. Betty is pleasant she has a nice personality and she really made me feel comfortable moving my things to her location. I have nothing to say but good things for this location. It's clean well secured and I feel safe knowing my deceased spouse things are in a safe storage unit. It's a welcoming location. Whether short term or long term I'm happy I moved to the 36260 Van Dyke Location.. Shout out to Betty at Public Storage... you're the best!!!! read more

Jodie is the worst. Don't believe all these fake reviews for a discount. I wanted to test her honesty with pricing and she tried upcharging $30 a month then what they are offering online. Not only that, my homeowners insurance covered insurance on storage units but she forced me to purchase their insurance for $11 a month. The place is also dirty and unkept. The contract says you have 5 days after the month to remove your belongings but Jodie will replace your lock and charge for another Month with late charges after 2 Days. If you like shady businesses that try to buy your reviews that you will love this place read more

I have been in my unit for 5 years or better, I an very please with the service from the staff ( Brenda & Nina ).

I have been here 15 months and 6 months ago i started having money problems. They call you off the hook. I was forced to buy a $22 lock when i started my rental and in October they cut it off on the 20th even tho on the 20 times they called me I told them I would make a payment on the 20th but they never told me they would be cutting lock then didnt contact me about cut lock for 30 days!!!! When they did contact me they made it sound like someone else tampered with lock until I pressed for further information. They also raised my rate after 6 months, forced insurance and expensive lock. Tried to force 25 dollar mattress covers asked me how many mattresses and threw them on the bill.. I said no way take that off. They are very eagar to put your stuff up on the auction block. They dont care about people or their belongings read more

When i initially checked into the location in Sterling Heights I was greeted by the Regional Manager but I had previous made the reservation over the phone with Nina. She informed me to refer all questions or concerns for the location to Nina the store manager who was just off day. I had moved my belonging into storage temporarily after a home fire and relocation. It was a really stressful time in my family and life. However, my communication with Nina made at least my concerns for all my family belongings easy. Each and every time I spoke with Nina she was friendly and helpful. I had to use public storage for one month and day. I was initially concerned about going over one day because of cost so I called and stop by the office to speak to Nina. Nina suggested the daily rate and made notes on my account so if she wasn't in the office any associate would be able to accurately close out my account. I don't have any plans on needing storage unit again in the near future again but if I do I will most definitely return to the Sterling Heights Public Storage thanks to Nina. read more
