Good at first, then they raise the unit prices, up on you, I know twice in last few months. Said they sent out, an email about another price increase. They get you, in with pay $1 first month, and low price, in the beginning, then reel you in, with increased unit prices. I guess get over on people, if you can. read more

This place has raised my rent and random over the last two years to the point of extortion. I have never dealt with the worst company in my life and I would never recommend anyone to rent a storage unit here I was pleased Customer from 2008 until about 2021 and now they have turned into crooks. Rarely does anybody answer the phone. We called from the driveway with no answer...drove up to the office and there the person sits at the counter of the office??? No cameras. Storage unit is clean and appears to be dry as it was raining hard one day we loaded some of our stuff inside. We have problems with the website not noticing our Log-In information??? We just opened it and have the Log-In information written down??? Appears this will work for our storage but I will not let the wife go there alone since there are no cameras monitoring the storage lanes. read more

They'll get you in the door by offering a special move in offer and rate but after your moved in, they'll jack up the monthly rent. I had a unit for about 6 months and my rent has doubled since opening it. I called support and asked how they can do this and their response was "we can do what we want. There is nothing saying we can't do this. It is month by month lease. Not a contract, so we can raise rent as we see fit." She knew the answer right away, which tells me they get a lot of phone calls regarding this issue. I guess they figure, once your stuff is in, your not gonna bother moving it out. And to make matters worse, I am located at the units on Dale Ave. in Roanoke VA and they have serious issues with homeless lurking about and I have even run into one sleeping in the stairwell. And they will use the side of the structure as their own toilet. Not gonna mention things I have found. And not too long ago, someone was just arrested for committing arson by lighting vehicles that have been parked there for months. I'm guessing it was an attempt to collect insurance? Also, they have a huge issue with the elevator not working a lot of the time. Also, I am pretty sure someone is living there? I see junk left out on the outside balcony. And a weight bench and a couch. If you are able.....avoid Public Storage at all costs! It will be ending up costing you, if you don't! read more

BIG Pothole in the road going up the hill to the business has been there since 1987 when Lawrence Transfer offloaded my stuff here! And there are more big potholes in the storage unit paved areas. Doors that haven't been lubricated or the spring tension checked in forever making them difficult to open and dangerous when closing them. Many of the door seals need to be replaced and don't seal out much. Roof drains spouts that are clogged with debris. Very poorly maintained! Customer Service office lady there is very nice and very helpful but, AVOID this place! Apparently Public Storage (Corporate) loves to take in your money but not spend any of it on proper maintenance of their facilities. Definitely inadequate maintenance to doors and pavement other than some orange paint in the doors. AVOID THIS PLACE! ‍ read more

Staff is very helpful. It is an older facility but it work well for what I need, and It was about $70-$100 cheeper than the other places. I don't need climate control environment I just need a quick cheep and early accessable place to keep my stuff. The lady at the front desk was very helpful. read more

I recently went Public Storage,and rented a unit..The woman(ANGIE) took all of our information,let us look around..Not sure why anyone else had their problem,but our experience was pretty good..I didn't have any problems withh her or the units...Would recommend to anyone..Mary H. read more

I had to choose a star in order to place this review but it should be a negative star. This is a run down business. The grounds are horrible. We unloaded our rental trailer and went down the very last aisle on this property and found the trailer would not fit through the opening. The pick-up truck fit but not the Medium sized U-Haul trailer. How ridiculous is this? It took us a extra hour of our time to back out and around in order to go down another lane. Who would think you would not be able to fit through an opening in a storage facility that should understand you will be unloading trailers. Also true as referenced by other reviews is that the $1 for first month is a joke and their monthly prices just increased by 15%. Nice raise for the fat cats who are managing this property as they have not made any improvements in this place in years if ever. This is yet again another example of greedy human behavior. read more

Never got a chance to see what kind of storage units they offer after I learned their $1 for first month deal does not end up being $1. First of all, they add a $24.99 admin fee. Then they called and asked that we come earlier than we had scheduled to take possession of the unit and advised that there would be other fees added. When asked what fees, the rep would not say. Ended up giving a figure of approximately $60 needed before getting the unit. Since they were misleading with their advertisement, I told them we were no longer interested since they appear to be dishonest from the get go. read more

This is by far the worst storage building I have ever rented (I've had a storage building in multiple locations for the past 10 years). There are no security cameras, water leaks in from another unit beside mine, the entrance gate works intermittently and the door to my unit falls off the track on a weekly basis. I complained to the front office and I was told "I don't know what you expect me to do about it, I guess you should call the corporate office". Not to mention it's priced about $40 more the surrounding businesses. I will be moving out ASAP to a different company. Beware this is not the one you want. read more

Jim and his staff are very helpful and friendly! The security of the facility was great, and they conduct daily lock checks to make sure everything is good. When I didn't latch my lock securely, they called to let me know, and secured the unit with their lock until I could come fix my lock. Great customer service, great units, and wonderful to work with. Highly recommend. read more
