Well II rented a space at the McLaughlin blvd site and told the man that I really didn't even know what I was storing but I packed it all so I had a pretty good idea of what was in there except for a few bags I just threw in without having to pack them as they were already full of things. However I was storing all my tools too which I neglected to mention to the man . The bag was so heavy that I had to drag it into my unit. There was about 5 duffel bags 5 backpacks and a couple bins my large bag of tools and 7 hard hats and a few loose things that were too big to stuff in a bag. The rent fluctuated from 29.99 to a whopping 89.00 which was a dollar less than a unit twice the size of mine.so every three months or so they would do something stupid like that then I would have to call and fight with them . and they would come down 20.00 or so . They would say well we can charge whatever we want. So they would advertise on the internet on their site that the one I was renting was 27.00 a month with no first month perks when at that very same time I was paying 8900 a month and they wouldn't budge below sixty nine. In the two years they were holding my thing I entered it once and that was about five months before I moved out. After I left with a harmonica in my hand which was all I had taken I remembered not seeing my hardhats but didn't think much of it I just thought that I might have laid some bags on top of them . So the day came when I wars moving out and my thing were in route for the auction because I missed a payment the month before . The gal in front who I assumed was the mans wife took my 246 dollars to get the lock off that they had placed on it to get my things out . I started removing bags and noticed within the first three minutes that my tools were missing and so were my hardhats. Someone had gotten in my unit and had so much time without worrying about getting caught . My thing weren't messed up in anyway . So it had to be an inside job because any other thief would have ram sacked my unit so as not to get caught and certainly would have left it open . So within 3 minutes I was pissed and went back to the office and low and behold it was locked and the gal was gone. J waited for a while for her husband to arrive and no one showed up I want a full refund because all the other things in there were junk and I'm sure my tools have been missing for a very long time. So I was paying astronomical monthly payments for nothing because my tools were more that likely gone a long time ago. There were tape measures wrenches tape socket sets just everything I owned was in that unit . So the only person that knew that I didn't know what was in there ,or so he thought , was the man who I believe they call Kelly. His wife must not have wanted to deal with the whole thing as she took off without even mentioning to me that no one was going to be there at and zero mentioning that she was taking off. The person that took all my things certainly wasn't concerned about getting caught and definitely has a master key to all the units even though they say they do not have access at all . That is a lie . I dont know everything he took but I do however know that he took my entire duffel bag of all my tools. How everything went down the day i moved out is obvious that they were involved . Funny how Kelly never showed his face after his wife suddenly left without notice. The "manager" was extremely rude and not helpful, in fact she would not speak to me directly, but had a 10 year old who was inside the fence say to "come back later, she is busy" it is my understanding that when a business advertises that they are open until six, customer service is offered up until then. I came to the facility at 3:45 closing time is well after that. Wanted to get a space and start my moving project that evening when I had help. No reasonable explanation was given other than offered by the child outside who was quite sassy as well. I will never use Public Storage again as this is the second bad experience we have had with a Public storage manager. These people are obviously NOT customer oriented....they make you feel they are doing you a big favor, like you are being annoying and they'd rather get back to whatever they are doing. It is my understanding that the manager lives on site, so draw your own conclusions here as there is nothing to contradict this behavior. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. If I could give -10 I would. Left the facility very frustrated and with a very negative opinion which I will share with whomever I know that are interested in using this place. read more

I rented a 10'x15' storage space from the Oregon City location at 19426 S. Molalla Avenue for over ten years. I will grant that that is a long time to have a space, but it was broken into TWICE, both within the last two years. The first break-in was in August of 2020 when multiple spaces were broken into. The two garage style doors on my unit had the entire door around the locks and latches cut out of the doors. I did not lose anything I could see because they appeared to have only used my unit to climb over walls into other units. They probably didn't want my old kitchen things or 902,948 books (go figure). They did make a mess of things that weren't taped closed, but nothing major. The second break-in was actually either last night or today (July 18, 2022). One of my "no one can cut these kinds of locks" padlocks I purchased from Public Storage was missing when my dad went to the unit to move out the last of my things. My dresser had been wrapped in heavy duty plastic wrap by the moving company who originally moved my stuff in. That plastic wrap was pulled off and the drawers opened (they were empty; sorry not sorry, thieves). Fortunately all that was left was large furniture pieces and nothing was taken this time, either. I was getting moved out because my rent when I left was going up to $390 plus $11 per month for the required insurance starting August 1, 2022. My total payment (including the insurance) for the last year was $322. It has increased every year, but this was the biggest increase yet. After the first break-in my opinion of the safety and security of storing things there obviously fell, but now it's abysmal. It also didn't help my opinion that when they painted recently, they sent me a postcard that I was welcome to come cover my own things if I wanted them protected from paint. tl;dr: I am grateful to have my things out of their facility because they were not safe or secure there. read more

The grounds are well kept Jennifer has always been helpful and nice My biggest problem with them is the price raises and late fees I work the same hrs as them,this making it really hard to. Drop off a monthly PMT .My rent started out at 174 then to 220 then to 260 most months there was late charges that are out of this world.ILike for a lean fee? IV never been more then a few weeks late so why the lean fee? Plus late fees.? the latest I've ever been was when I was in the hospital with covid.Jennufer did try to get my late charges back but The corporate office said no way. My husband passed recently so I was naturally late that month also think I could have got a break or my late charges reversed no. So there you have it That's my complaint the prices read more

I would love to give a negative 5,but I cant on this..My small storage was not only expensive,it was wet (they said it would be dry),but the BIG THING is their complete LACK of communication..Impossible to contact via text,phone message or email,simply wouldt respond.. Then,when I gave notice to vacate January 19,(amazing,a response to that),I stated I would be out Feb 2...I figure no prob paying the pro rated amount,roughly $13..One month later,I recieve a COLLECTION notice for the entire month of Feb for $193!!! These people send a lot of crap to you online, which can confuse when your going through 100 pieces of junk email, and their's is buried with a bunch of fluff they send. Late fees are extreme. They seem to use that to pad their monthly rate. Watch your billing dates closely and don't expect a lot of extra niceness from the desk jockey. Count your fingers, toes and hubcaps when you leave. read more

The $1 for the first month is a nice deal, requiring you to buy their lock and then delivering a lock that is useless within 6 weeks is wrong. When I brought the lock to the office, both of the people behind the counter (including the manager) tried to get it to work, neither of them could. I asked for a refund on the lock but was told that was not possible since I had used it . This is not a model of customer service, this is a model of customer rip-off. read more

This is my first time ever to rent from Public Storage, options online are excellent and give me the units available and prices to choose from since I didn't have a ride to the store this worked perfect for me. It was fast and convenient didn't need to go Instore at all and top it off with a First Month $1 Promotion which helped me a lot. We are very disappointed with our Public Storage experience. The staff at the facility told us no adjustments could be made even though we were unable to make use of the unit we had reserved and rented. Public Storage got $142.99 from us, while we got nothing from Public Storage. After paying for a 10x20 storage unit for our small trailer (16.5' with tongue), we were unable to get it into the unit, even though we had been assured that this should not be a problem. Given the narrow width of the driveway, we could not use our vehicle to push the trailer into the unit. Nor could we use our trailer's front wheel attachment to push the trailer by hand, due to the unit's narrow 8' opening, the slope of the pavement in front of the unit ,and the 2" step up to it. In trying to do so, my husband and I lost control of the trailer as it rolled down the slope, which resulted in damage to the trailer. Luckily, neither of us were hurt and there were no other damages. Although Public Storage apparently maintains a no refund policy, in this instance we did not simply change our minds or fail to show up. We arrived when planned, but we were unable to make use of the storage unit as expected. This caused us to have to expend a lot of additional effort and money to find a suitable storage area at a time when we were involved with a move from Southern Oregon to Portland. Needless to say, the whole experience proved to be quite stressful. Public Storage has refused to respond in any way in spite of repeated attempts to discuss the matter read more

I had to load in 2 large storage units after my father unexpectedly passed away. It was all so frantic trying to find a place to get his belongings. Jennifer the property manager was very helpful and kind to me along the way. She helped me pick the sizes i needed and didnt over sell me more units than i needed. I'm shocked to see negative reviews about her as she was professional and answered all my questions and I was able to vacate the storage units after a few months and she was very helpful. So far, everything is really good here at this OC facility. Nice people (Tiffany in particular), very clean, and comparatively good rates. I've done business with Public Storage in Lake Oswego and it was a totally good experience, so it'll likely be just as good here! Advice: Do the registration online for a better rate. We got a $1 first month special on a very large unit and thought the price thereafter was better than most competitors. Ugh the property manager Jennifer is not a nice lady! I work with adults with developmental disabilities and while I was teaching my client life skills on how to navigate her goals to be more independent in the community, I saw a woman who appeared to work at the location(not only visually but directly asked if she worked here as to not assume) she stated she did, as I was trying to communicate the situation /ask this woman Jennifer for help on how we could get our current needs met and to allow future access easily for my client and her family when utilizing the storage unit... I wasn't even able to state more than what the issue was before she started off/walked away from me... Much more went on but the point is her communication level is well below what I would think a managers behavior would be when working in any type of service industry... I have put in a call to the district manager to discuss this situation and how future customers could have a more pleasant experience at this location! Which is why it is getting a two star rating instead of a one, we shall see how the district manager handles the conversation... I'm hopeful it will be a learning experience for Jennifer to work towards improving her customer service skills!!! read more

We would separate the facility and customer service ratings if we could. The facility and the 12x30 unit we used were 5 star, excellent. Well lit, cared for, easy access. The customer service through the leasing process was a ZERO. I made several phone calls to correct what we believe was a misleading trap to secure our rental period days before we actually wanted it to start. This has caused us to pay for an additional rental period which would have been unnecessary had the local rep not insisted we come in in advance to do the paperwork and then another local "manager" insisted she could not correct it once the credit card was charged. We were told to call the national Public Storage customer service. I made 2 calls to that number and was told both times that they are unable to do anything regarding local contracts. I then made four more calls to the site and was either put off to another day to talk to someone more in charge or my calls were not returned. My last call resulted in a promise that the district manager would call. That was 4 days ago and, oh surprise, no one has called. Lesson learned: YOUR RESERVATION IS GOOD FOR 7 DAYS, DO NOT GO IN EARLY !!!!! read more
