I've had a climate controlled unit for several months now and am very pleased with my experience. The Public Storage app is very handy, especially when it comes to getting through the gates and into my building. The building and unit are clean and I feel my items are safe. My monthly rental fee went from $104 a month last September to $144 in October, then in April it jumped again to $194.00 I have never received any explanation of why the sharp increase. I've called the office and left messages, no response. I drove by, and they have a help wanted sign in the window. Not good. Plus the website is vague about instructions in how to cancel. read more

I used their online tool to create a reservation for a unit, starting at the end of the month. After visiting the facility and inspecting the unit. I thought I was confirming my reservation by providing to the salesperson all of my info and payment info, only to find that they started the rental today, 27 days early. They had no idea how to fix it and gave me a number to the district manager (no response). Called the 800 number and could only get through to someone that could do anything after choosing the "new rental" option and getting transferred from there (only answered on the second attempt). However, this person also could not fix the problem. They offered a refund of what I paid today but could not tell me how much or when my next payment would be due or if the "second month free" would still apply. I decided that it would be easier to just close the account, get a full refund, and look for storage elsewhere. read more

My bill has gone up incrementally from $104 on 5/3/24 when we first rented the unit, to $174 on 3/4/25. Not cool!

THE WORST. Avoid at all costs. No one is ever in the office. They don't return calls. They don't maintain the hallways or property. BUGS AND SPIDERWEBS AND ANTS everywhere. And they jack up your rate every few months. My storage unit was $108 a month for YEARS before Public Storage took over. They raised the rent constantly until it was $279. Not they want $312. I moved to a cleaner, friendlier place with the same size space for $105. read more

I rented a unit June 21, 2024 and canceled June 23, never used. June was refunded but July payment has never been credited to my account, public storage customer service said they couldn't help me and to call credit card to get credited, I did and they took off my account, and now Public Storage has sent the balance to a collection agency, they owed me I didn't owe them, it's been messed up from the beginning, avoid Public Storage read more

Raised my rent three times in six months and don't offer longer lease options to lock in monthly rental cost! No one in Omaha is charging over $200 for a 10' x 10' unit, and that isn't remotely close to what I was initially quoted!! I started renting from this Public Storage in November. It was great for the winter time as it is ACTUALLY temperature controlled. It was nice and warm for me and my items. In February I moved my home address from central Omaha to downtown. I decided to get a new unit on 74th with the same company. It was like night and day. The 74th location claimed to be temperature control but WAS NOT! It was freezing in there. Plus I was paying almost twice as much as I was at 129th. Also, 74th had no trash disposal and 129th does! Lots of issues with the 74th location so I decided to come back home to 129th! The price is VERY reasonable for the utilities they offer. The buildings are very secure and accessible. The carts are always placed back in their intended places. I love it here and I don't even care that I have to drive a little extra; I'll do it every time. Beware! Several units have had locks cut off and have been burglarized at this location (129th and Maple). We lost several thousand dollars of property. Even with repeated requests, no security footage was ever viewed to find the perpetrator. Security gates have been broken, no one answers the phone and no one is ever in the office. No one at Public Storage, either locally or through their corporate offices even cared. If you are looking for self storage --look elsewhere! read more

we chose this location for convenience to our home, I liked the climate control storage. They raise the rent every six months and when you want to make changes, the property manager does not return calls. everything is done using their app which is difficult to use and customer service only keeps saying you need to talk to the property manager who never returns calls. read more

Just moved to the area from out of state & needed storage close to our new house for a short term. This was the easiest, most convenient storage facility I've ever used. To start with - the location is great! It's a clean, safe, secure feeling area. The building is in great shape and the lot is clean and well lit as was the interior of the building that our unit was in. Also - the property manager keeps a really solid, moving cart right by the door and in our numerous trips to and from the unit - it has always been there in the same place right by the main door. Super helpful! The rental experience was completely online and seamless. We completed the form online in the evening and needed the unit first thing in the morning. We received an email immediately with easy instructions. The next morning we got to our unit right after they opened (pre-dawn) and our unit was all ready to go exactly as outlined in the email. Today we were able to clean out our unit and the exit experience was just as good as the sign-up. I did call the property manager (name is Candy), just to make sure we were all squared away and she was very professional, courteous and helpful...capping off a great experience from start to finish! I'll def. use this facility again and would recommend it highly. read more

We chose Public Storage because they had space available, the price was fair and it was close to our home. First month free was a nice added bonus. However, 4 months in, we get a notice that our monthly fee has been increased by over 30% - total of $80 increase. The contact person said they adjust their prices regularly, my guess is they don't adjust them down...so don't get too comfy w/ your storage unit. read more

This is the worst place anyone could ever pick to store any of your belongings yet to store all you own and every memory you ever had because the likely hood of it getting picked through locks cut off before supposed to be, never anyone in the office ever, payments not documented and than ultimately to pay 1000 on the website to save out unit to get booted off the site and happen to show up there with our whole unit on someone trailer who supposedly won the auction but investigation is on going to confirm but looked like all stolen by Mangers family and we should of had a whole month due to a payment in cash wasn't documented. Lawsuit will be filed you can't replace some of ur most treasured things from ppl that we loved dearly and have all passed away and to than see our belongings price tagged all over Facebook marketplace. Do not put urslef through how hard and flusterating insulting emotional and just pure wrong and evil events that resulted in us having nothing besides a few boxes of stuff they didn't want and made is clean in out even. I went for the first time this evening after I got off work, to open up my storage, I pulled the blue tag off, An you can't even slide the bent silver bar to I unlock. The facility stinks. The dumpsters have been removed and trash is blowing around everywhere. The doors to the climate controlled halls are frequenly left open 24 hours a day. The monthly rates are way above average, and will be raised as soon as you have fully moved in and are a captive customer. Late fees are 20% of your payment, if not higher. Government CFPB rulings regarding late fees state they are not to be more than 3% of your outstanding late balance, or $27. So Public Storage 132 Maple late fees are way higher than is reasonable and customary in the consumer industry. You should really try to find a reasonable storage place that is family and/or locally owned and not run by those trying to take advantage, as this place is. read more
