I'd give Public Storage negative stars if I could. The app is a nightmare. Multiple errors and multiple charges taken out when I tried to downsize my unit and rent through the app. I called the toll free customer service number the next day to report the issue and they said there was no contract and no payment received.I was renting a large storage unit. 90 days after I moved my stuff in, I received notice that my rent was increasing from approx $330 to $450! Exorbitant to rent there. I visited the office in person and Diane helped me. I'd give her 10 stars if I could. I was able to downsize to a smaller unit with her help, but the same issue happened to her. I'd e-sign the new rental agreement and submit payment. My bank put a hold on the money, but the contract disappeared from the computer. My bank ended not sending my money to Public Storage. Customer Service was no help to Diane. Eventually we were able to finalize a rental agreement after the third attempt and two trips to come see Diane in person. If it weren't for Diane, I would have decided to rent a unit elsewhere due to crappy corporate customer service and exorbitant rental prices. I still would have left a scathing review because people need to know what 3 ring circus that they're dealing with. Public Storage needs to acknowledge Diane for her service recovery. I was lured into storing my furniture by an online add that offered to rent my a space 12' X 23' for $105 per month. What I thought was going to be a fee was actually a scam. The fee was for one month which went up to $132 the next month. Two months later it was raised to $157 and now, just seven months later is at $191. Public Storage gets you in the door and starts raising the rent on the assumption you'd rather pay more than go through the hassle of moving your stuff again. I've complained to the district manager, Jessica Bergman, but was mostly ignored. I want the leaders of Omaha to not let Public Storage take over anymore businesses in Omaha because of their deceptive practices. I want consumers in Omaha to be aware that your rent will go up and it will go up quickly for no reason. read more

Good got in on the half of rent for 5 X 10, april may and then May was charged a double payment that took care of June, so my next payment is for july but now my so called half off rent is now 48 00 dollars from 32.00 that's a big jump in rate increase seems like they are getting the half off rate money back. I was warned this would happen but I gave it a chance and now I'm kinda being screwed and no one is in the office they refer us to another office and no one is there either. Time for BBB. read more

Man I should have read the reviews before I rented a space. If your smart enough to read the reviews then take advantage of this warning and run away. I only gave 1 star because I could not give 0 stars. I rented online and called an associate to tell them I needed a 10X20 to store a hot tub in and when I showed up with my moving van my unit was a 10X20 but it did not have any door big enough to fit my hot tub into. I called customer service because that is the only number that answers. They were able to move me to another 10x20 unit that had a big door and at the time I was happy. I get half way moved in and they tell me I have to come down and do a transfer when I arrive they charge me a $52.00 transfer fee for their mistake and a unit I never stepped foot into. I called customer service to complain and get a refund only to be told I have to contact the local District manager to air my complaint and try to get a refund. I have left many messages but have yet to hear from anyone. I would have stayed at least 5 years as I am in the service. Needless to say Im pulling my contents and giving my hard earned money to a place that respects people and takes responsability of their mistakes. I would rate this even lower if I could. Nobody on-site. Told code would be sent 2-3 days before move in and it wasn't. Just showed up in the app. Charged for a lock but no option to say no and forced to use their lock. We brought our own and when we tried to open the door to the unit the bottom of the door would not release and rust fell out of the frame. We had to force the door open just to see inside. There was water in the unit (after rain) as no rubber trim at bottom of door. Lightbulb burned out. We left their lock in the unit and the door unlocked. We did not move in. I am 65 and unable to open the door on my own. This is the worst I have ever seen a storage unit. Unable to cancel or talk to anybody about it as we didn't use the unit. I never leave bad reviews, but my experience with this facility and the broader company has been, frankly, terrible. I don't know where these good reviews could have come from, because every other customer I've run into and spoken with has these same, and more, issues. For the price you pay ($100+/month) for a storage unit, it is nearly impossible to access your unit and whatever may be inside. There is less evidence of there actually being any staff or manager on site (or at all) than there is of sasquatch. If you have a choice between using this facility and paying twice the price to leave your things in a ditch of I-80, go with the latter. For an itemized list: - The chief concern, for me, has been that you can never get in touch with anybody. Nobody on-site, nobody answers the phones or returns messages (dozens of attempts over several months at calling the various numbers provided online and on-site), and other customers have the same exact issue. - Several safety issues - doors that don't work going in or out, broken mechanisms that can/have caused injury, etc. If there were a fire, it's difficult to get out. If you have large items or mobility issues, it's difficult to get in. I guess one could say it's just too secure [sarcasm]. - The doors to the units are nearly impossible to latch shut and to unlatch, and I know this is a broader problem with more than just one door (why would a storage site have functioning door locks, anyway [sarcasm]?). I spoke with other customers that had the issue, I tried other doors when calling about my original complain in August; it's an issue with this and presumptively other facilities. - The doors to get into the climate-controlled building are broken and have been for some time now. They were once automatic, now they aren't automatic to get in and you have to make several attempts to get them to unlock to leave. - The gate code given to me to get into the building (beyond even the broken door) and the broader facility didn't work for months. It took several calls and online chats (you can't get a live person on their support lines anymore) to get more than a single-use code. - The property manager is never on-site, never answers their phone, never responds to messages (tried calling several times). - Even the service number folks - when you can actually reach a live person - can't get a hold of the alleged property manager. If you value your property, your money, and, frankly, your sanity, do not use this "service". It's expensive even if it did what it's supposed to, and it doesn't. read more

Very unhappy. Can never reach anyone at the office. Nobody returns phone calls and have left plenty. Have never heard back from anyone. Very poor customer service. No communication when changes occur. Can never get into the gate because the access code never works. Would not recommend. read more

terrible service from the staff that operates the facility. threatened with fines for throwing away trash in the dumpster without any posted sign saying we couldn't. staff refused to allow us to open the gate when moving a disabled motorcycle, causing us to have to push it by hand across the entire facility. woman who runs facility is very unpleasant and refuses simple requests such as missing lightbulbs or storage lock purchases. read more

I'd rate this lower if possible. Whatever you do, don't use this location or these people. $1 move in quickly became $75, the storage units are shoddy doors and easy to see if there is any weather from snow or rain anything you have on the ground will be ruined. When firsr filled out the form online the cost was $1 for first month then $39. When I filled out the form it refreshed and was now $53 per month. When I arrived I signed up despite concerns after seeing the location because they told me I'd already reserved couldn't and couldn't back out. After a day of angst I moved to a climate control unit elsewhere which charged me $0.00 for the first month. No hidden fees at all and a free lock. When I canceled this unit they refunded 1/3 of what I paid. The lock I can use on nothing else but cost $20 is now thrown away. The rest of "admin fees" are burnt. What a waste of time and money because people decided to be shady and rude. Whatever you do don't go here. Go somewhere anywhere else. You do not want to leave your belongings anywhere near these dishonest people. read more

It just happened to start raining yesterday as I pulled up to notice the face level downspout that spit water at me the entire time I was unloading. Followed by creating a fine puddle for me to muddle through, as I unloaded my truck into the new unit. Not mad, just not really happy about it. But it was shirt notice and I was able to rent and drop off my stuff all within an hour or so span. (It went quick using the online application.) read more

I was unhappy with "PUBLIC STORAGE" I was short for one month so they drilled out the lock I brought from them and they are making me buy another one. They locked me out of the passage gate also. I was only around $60.00 dollars short including the late fee. I paid $100.00 dollars with their permission and was told I could pay the rest on the first of the next month. I thought the was going to wait and allow me to catch up. However that's not the case. The roads leading to the units are damaged and in need of repair and was told the owners have been informed but have not decided to fix them as yet. The owners or no one is willing to work with anyone. So my suggestion would be to keep out and keep looking treat them like they treat us. Stored our belongs here for 3 months. When we emptied our unit many things were wet and moldy. When we contacted the manager he gave us the information to contact their insurance company. After going through all of our belongings and listing everything that was damaged, the insurance company contacted me to say they would replace if I had original receipts. Who keeps those?! CAUTION! This facility (only PS in Omaha) demands that you use only their locks! This costs you about $20 at sign up! You DON'T get this fee back! You can't use this lock anywhere else!! Your first month FREE actually costs you about $50 for the smallest locker! They demand you take the insurance when you really don't need to have it right then and there!! Give PS a pass. There are many other lockers in the area cheaper and more convenient. This PS location is hard to find as well. Simply put - this is a rip off and VERY congested/tight lot - steer clear. read more

f I could rate lower than a 1 star I would. The guy who runs this location Is a Joke and The reason we lost most of our belonging . (not the first issue we had with him) To start he was very unprofessional and acted as though we (boyfriend and I) were inconveniencing him by coming in and asking about the units (after we had called to set up an appointment) I thought he was just a Bad employee on his shift. (wrong) After pushing very hard to sell us a Tarp because our things may get " dusty" and making us feel uncomfortable he proceeded to push palates on us because the river/ stream next to them can some times flood, we informed him we have some and went ahead to put our thing on palates and put ALL of our more important things on top (like our bed and old pictures) knowing our things would only be in the unit 4 months tops (was only in for 3) About a week before we were going to move out we went to check on things and noticed some things seemed wet from rain. I called and asked about it and he proceeded to tell me how to wash clothes and dry out things that might be wet but it shouldn't be and he would have a roofer look at it to make sure. So I trusted that he had Taken proper care of the building and nothing would leak threw. (YEP WRONG AGAIN) there was quiet a few leaks in the roof. poring all over our thing, the heavy rain we had gotten 5 days before was practically all inside our unit. A long day of sorting threw what we could possibly save and what had been water and then molded from water sitting on it and heat. We informed him of what happened and he acted as though It was not his problem, finding out later it was more than just us this happened to. So in efforts to help other people we asked that he call other renters and to have then check there things. ( I don't think he did this though) we got the head phone number of all this and have still not heard anything back to help us out. we had to move out and start from scratch, still living with no couches, waiting on insurance that will only cover some of what was lost. This man Should not be running this place if he does not want to keep up on getting it fixed and safe for people to put their valuables not to mention take some costumer service classes or something. The worst storage unit I have ever used. and Will never go back as well as send as many people away as possible for their own good. Easy check-in and check-out. The website does advertise 1.00 move-in so that is why I chose one further out but It ended up being full price with all the fees. We used this place for a few months&when we went to get our things out we were missing a box full of kitchen appliances such as a grill,skillet,&blender, mixer and a big glass water/juice dispenser&other smaller appliances! Along with a box fan,our glass sand heart from our wedding.we were a few days late on our payment&they cut our lock&went&took "inventory" of our belongings,ended up going to the back of our unit where we kept our DVDs&electronics that were taped in a box.When we had our lock replace&i confronted them about looking threw our boxes they said they only took inventory of what they could see from the door..Well you can't see what's in a box in the back of the unit&know what's in an unmarked box unless u go in the&open the box! I will never recommend or use this place ever again! The office smelled of cat urine when we went to fill out papers for the unit.we had to pay 20$ for a lock that we can never use again.they could@least buy the lock back.This place is horrible. read more
