SAVE YOURSELF. Dirty, climate control's a joke, units broken into, never an attendant available and no access to a cart without leaving drivers' license as collateral. No restroom access (unless attendant happens to be available to unlock). Almost always have at least one nonworking door or gate. Units getting broken into with power saws (so clearly not even basic security despite not 24 hour access).AND Public Storage apparently has it built in to raise prices significantly every few months. Worse than I imagined possible. I'm going to have to spend the time and money to move two units to another facility. JUST PAY MORE, YOU'LL SAVE IN THE END. read more

My storage unit was broken into twice... in less than 60days. The second time, they have actually rummaged through all my stuff making it hard to see what or if anything was stolen. Obviously, I am seriously questioning the security of the location and I am moving my stuff out. The earliest I can get my stuff is the 6th, they're charging me another full month of rent... I have left voicemails and sent emails with no response to my request for it to be waived or at least prorated. I understand policy but I feel that charging me an entire month under the circumstances is unethical. read more

CJ is the best thing going on at this property. The driveway getting into the office and storage units is in bad shape with pot holes and a very narrow space if you're trying to maneuver a U-Haul. I also don't like that my unit is on a cliff and it's a narrow fit that only one car/truck at a time can travel on. The location of the property in relation to the Stadiums, etc., is bar none if you're not claustrophobic and acrophobic like me. I have rented several storage units at various Public Storage facilities over the past several years and this one located at 47th & Raytown Road is by far the best in many ways. The property is very well kept, no trash or litter strewn about, the individual units and main buildings are all in good, clean condition and working order, no broken doors or peeling paint, the grounds are well lit, all lights were working and the customer service provided by the property manager, CJ, was very friendly, professional, thorough and accommodating which made the leasing process a very pleasant experience, she let me know that my business was appreciated and that she would be happy to help if I needed anything further. How refreshing it is to do business with someone who actually cares, takes pride in what they do and does it so very well with the utmost of sincerity. Wow, what a great place! And as great as this storage facility is, the kindness and service the manager CJ offered to our company employees was even better! Please know that this location has a lot of great things going for it. It is extremely convenient to the sports complex near the Royals and Chiefs stadiums in KC. Ingress and egress are very easy onto and off the property. Its minutes away from downtown KC and the various surrounding communities. The hours were extremely flexible and on one occasion, the manager knew we were working late and assisted us with an after hours delivery. Another reason we have used this facility on numerous occasions is because of the different sized units available. We've rented small, medium and larger units. All have roller type doors which provide maximum space usage, ease of entry and great security. Sometimes, we've needed an extra unit for overflow deliveries that were made unexpectedly. CJ, the property manager, went above and beyond to not only get us the units we needed, but provided the convenience of locating units that were close to one another. Our business is based in New York. Public Storage made everything as easy as possible for us. CJ herself helped us set up a direct pay option so that we never had to worry about being locked out for missing a payment. When we ended a recent campaign a few days after the end of the month, CJ also let us pro-rate the five extra days we needed into the following month. I've been using storage facilities around the country for 29 years now and this is the first time a property manager didn't automatically bill us for the full month once we passed the 2nd or 3rd day of the month. Here are a few things you need to know about this location. The property itself is very clean. One many occasions, I have seen CJ driving her golf cart/maintenance cart around the property picking up trash. The other day while I was moving stuff, she even volunteered to help me move one of the heavier items sitting out in front of my unit. The property is well lit. I can attest to that because I have loaded and unloaded plenty of times over the last three years before the sun has risen or set for the day. I love the secureness of the facility and the easy access before and after the office opens and closes each day of the week. I hate facilities that require us to leave a key in the office. However, I chose to leave a key because this particular property will upon written notification let deliveries be made to my unit. Heck, CJ has even called or emailed us to tell us a delivery was made that we were expecting later than the actual arrival day/time. Convenience is definitely a plus, but not just in the location. They have boxes, tape, locks and other things I needed on the spot. Truly, the best thing they have at this location is CJ. This lady is friendly, out-going and works very hard at her job. It's not easy managing this type of facility. When I was in the office after the Royals World Series game 7 loss recently, CJ was working through a terrible flu. The weather had just turned toward winter, so it was cold and uncomfortable. But there she was, answering phone calls and running around the facility in her golf cart taking care of numerous tenants. All the while, she was smiling and laughing and thanking everyone for being a customer at this Public Storage facility. I'll be back next year at the start of Spring baseball. And that's not only because of the great facility, but mostly due to CJ the property manager at 9104 East 47th Street in Kansas City, Missouri!
