The employees at Public storage on blue Heron Boulevard in West Palm Beach i.e. the girls behind the counter couldn't have been any nicer. However, corporate when I talk to them on the phone were not nice or helpful and told me since the air conditioning units were broken for over one year of my two-year $10,000 rental.. That I was just out of luck sorry your furniture got ruined. wish I hadn't deleted half of the photos pictures of the thermostats at 85 and 89° Four air conditioning units ran the building only one of them was working for over a year my furniture was ruined and I was told too bad. What they do not bother to tell you, although I'm sure it's in a fine print somewhere they can raise the rates on you at any given time and without any notice. Of course, if you pay this new Rate on time, you will get slapped with a very large late fee.. Calling to discuss this issue is next to impossible because no one ever answers the phone nor returns your phone calls . On one occasion, when I asked why my rate jumped over 75%, I was told because they needed more units the Same size as what I had. So you penalize me because you guys don't have your shit together enough to build more spaces of this size?!!!? I moved my belongings out early this month, but prior to that I attempted paying my rent for the month - due to Identity Theft issues my bank card had to be changed and it is not safe to do anything online. I went by 3 days in a row to take care of this issue in person, but no one was ever in the office. The phone number they gave on a note it was taped to the door was no good, because no one ever answered it. I spent an inordinate amount of time over those three or four days, attempting to pay my bill prior to when it was due, I called the normal number listed online and left messages but again no return call ever. I notified them of my plans to vacate the unit By leaving a message because I had no other choice of communicating with them. The messages I left about paying my bill. It was due return impossible for me to put it on time. Of course I got slapped with. a large late fee. I would just like an explanation as to why I pay a late fee when they were the ones who were irresponsible making it impossible for me to even pay my bill. Rats. My unit had become infested with rats who are ripping insulation out of the ceiling of the unit and building nests all over my furniture and boxes. So. When you see, the really good rates that they offered to get your business, just remember you're going to have rats in your unit and they're going to raise your rates unexpectedly. they will not cooperate or be in the office when they should be so you can pay a bill in case something goes wrong with doing it online. My advice - find a better place, because you're gonna get what you pay for except they're going to slap rate hikes on you to screw you at the same time. * read more

2 so far. The hidden charges and false advertising is getting me so far. Website said $1 first month.... nope, and they can't even explain which units for which location may be available. $29 admin fee; for what? $20 for a $10 lock. Mandatory insurance, and then after seeing the unit that smelled like damp, with the incomplete 1/2 inch dry-wall walls between me and the other units, and a non-descript dark stain on the ground that I don't want to put my mattress on although thankfully it is wrapped in plastic. So far not impressed and thankfully I should only need the space for 1 month. read more

After having my storage for a couple months and moving back to Virginia I just knew I was returning asap to get my things out of storage and move them with me but life changed overnight. As reviews are simply a shameless ranking method for District Managers and they hold their hourly employees responsible for getting them... Here's mine. Peter and Carol are great. Both are very helpful and will do anything they can to assist you while still following the 80 billion rules Public Storage has in place. And as Public Storage is shamelessly soliciting customers sharing information... Here's my info to save you some money... Public Storage line: "you're required to have insurance on your goods in storage, which limit would you prefer?" Fact: You are required, however, you're not required to buy their policy and if you have homeowners or renters insurance you're probably covered. You do not have to have any proof of this to rent. Public Storage line: "Our locks are designed for maximum security" Fact: They are. But they are also identical to the disc locks at Home Depot, Lowe's etc. The only difference - they cost twice as much at Public Storage. This location has cylinder locks NOT padlocks. Those are also sold at any home improvement store. Public Storage line: "We have security cameras all over the property for your protection" Fact: And the worst resolution footage ever. Add in the fact that less than half of them work at any location at any given time and DM's don't have the budget to instantly repair them and that's worthless. Ditto for outdoor and hallway lighting. Basically, buy and being your own lock with you. Decline their insurance policy that is not really worth the paper it's written on. I had a unit with Public Storage in Jacksonville, FL for 3 years. When I returned to gather my things and close out the unit, a nightmare ensued. Apparently, while I was living 2,000 miles away, they changed the type of lock on the units, without my written consent. When I returned to close the unit, they could not provide a key for my unit. They did not offer to cover the cost. Instead, I had to pay for a Locksmith to remove the lock, on my own dime, and purchase a new lock from them to replace the one the Locksmith cut up and removed. Additionally, the staff was very unpleasant to me. When I asked for a Manager's telephone number, they would not provide me with one, until I hung around the front desk for 2 hours, which annoyed them enough to give me what I asked for. I called the District Manager, but received no answer, and no response. I was told by the employees that the District Managers usually don't keep their phones on them. They mentioned that I could wait in town during the following week, when the DM was supposed to be visiting, so I could talk something out with them. Unfortunately, they didn't know what day the DM would be coming by, and couldn't guarantee that I would have the opportunity to speak with them at all. Keep in mind, I told them that I had just driven 2,000 miles, rented a UHaul trailer and stayed in a hotel room the night before, just so I could gather my things from the unit and take them to my new home. To that, they offered to have me stay for an entire week, on my own dime, take time off of work, to have an opportunity to "maybe see the DM". Since then, I was told that I could close the unit out, without my old roommate present (who shared the unit with me), "probably". We "may" be able to sign the closing document from 1,500 miles apart, take our signatures to our respective, nearby locations and close the unit that way. The past two weeks have been spent by us being told that we would need to be in the original storage unit location, with one another, in order to close the unit. So, after everything they have put us through to this point, they now expect us to drive from (me) 2,000 miles away, and (my old roommate) 2,700 miles away, on our own dime, to close the unit out together. This is the worst experience I have ever had, with any business, of any kind. I realize that not everyone will heed this warning, but I would go elsewhere to obtain a storage unit, especially if you do not live in the location where your unit is located. They made me feel very helpless and taken advantage of. The staff didn't seem to care about me one bit. Please, save yourself the heartache and take your business elsewhere. read more

DONT NOT STORE YOUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS AT THIS FACILITY!!!!! This is a warning! Our things were destroyed by mice and roaches. It was like being in a horror movie! Insurance only covers up to $500 in vermin and pest damages. I wish I could go back in time I would not use this facility! it is a Scam! The walls in the unit are so flimsy I could kick my way into the next door unit! We had to trash all of our things! sleeper sofa, bedroom set, kitchenware, dining set, clothing, books, linens, toys, mattress and box spring, tv ohhh the 75inch TV was infested with roaches they're inside of the TV! $4k TV down the drain! Everything we own destroys by rats that chewed through the legs on our dining room set and pooped in our sofa bed and chewed though toys and every other piece of furniture and items. We even found a perfectly preserved rat skeletal remains! Huge roaches are falling out of stacked boxes and jumping from the draws of our bedroom furniture. Water bug poop inside and outside every box in that unit! My husband stepped on one water bug by accident and the rat poison which was green color was inside of the roach! It seems like the roaches are attracted to the rat poison but they dont die when they ingest it! This place is horrible! They refuse to reimburse for all the disgusting damage! I should not have to suffer the loss of my belongings and the money I pay them AND the amount of money it will cost for a junk removal! I hate this company! and I strongly advise you not to trust them with your belongings! P.S. there was no food in our unit! We are a traveling family and are used to relocating so we know the deal when it comes to what you can store and what is unacceptable! We have never experienced this in our years of relocating!!! I only had this unit for 2 months and my experience could not have been worse. First off the $1 first month rent is B.S., with the fees, the "special lock" you have to buy, and the insurance it is more like $60. I was told my unit was going to be $95 a month, and was charged $112 a month, and to top it all off, one day I open my unit and I find all of my stuff covered in leaves/dirt/grime and a hole the size of a baseball in the back of the unit with rat droppings all along the back wall. I wanted to set fire to the entire unit! I pulled Carol aside upon checking out of my unit, told her how utterly disappointed I was of this unit and their service, and how ashamed they should be of the condition to which they are running this property, and she was DISINTERESTED at best. DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE FACILITY, trust me, you can find better for cheaper! read more

As far as my belongings being safe and protected, yes, they have done their jobs to that point so a star for that. As far as billing goes... This place has been an absolute nightmare! They have been raising my rent every few months since about the second month of being there. Getting anyone at the office to give a shit is another whole ball of wax. Nobody will call me back or discuss it with me so now I have to go to the corporate folks I suppose, to get someone to reimburse me for the hundreds of dollars I've paid in OVERCHARGES. He was a nice guy. The storage itself was what I needed, It was decently clean inside and there were no evidence of leaks nor rodents. The gate only let customers in with proper passcode. This storage unit on Baymeadows and Phillips Highway-and more specifically, the manager GREG, is not your average storage lot. GREG gave me and a family member whom I refered after-the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED (and I have moved 7 times). SHOP AROUND AND YOU'LL SEE THEIR PRICES ARE THE LOWERST. But rest assured you'll knowing pay more to stay there after you MEET GREG. public storage IS LUCKY TO HAVE THIS MAN REPRESENTING ITS NAME. read more

I've been with Public Storage at this location for 11 months and just signed a renewal lease at my apartment complex. So, I came in to up size my unit from a 10X10 to a 10X15. Carol provided incredible customer service. She quickly got me into a larger unit while lowering my monthly payment by $24.00. She bent over backwards to ensure I was totally satisfied. She is friendly and personable. As a former Customer Service Manager, I recognize and appreciate true customer service. I highly recommend this location for all your storage needs. I always put my lock on a certain way. Went back to get some stuff our of storage and I had left the spare key with these people. When I got to my unit the lock was turned upside down. I made it a point to put it right side up. Somebody entered my unit without my consent. Then, they decided they were going to take everybody's lock off and put a new locking system on. Would have been nice if they would have let me know instead of waiting until I couldn't get in. Then you have to go inside to get help and there's rarely anybody there. These people are rude and inconsiderate. I will be moving my stuff out. read more
