Sheila was amazing with explaining payment options, differences of each storage unit, usage time-frames and contacts, as well as additional offers while using the facility. Have is a guided walk around the area so we can better familiarize ourselves with what she had described the units to be like. Plus, the prices are beyond cheaper/fairer compared to many other storage locations, which left yes lucky to reserve one. First, I would like to say that Jillian K. is way off base. If she thinks Bear Creek is the hood then she hasn't been to the hood. I've been renting space here for years and have not had any problems and my daughters have also been keeping property here and have not had any issues either. Alyssa is great; very helpful, cheerful and customer service oriented. She is knowledgeable and handled all our questions and needs in a timely manner. I needed a storage facility to clear out my family and friends belongings as well as a few of my own things that have accumulated in my garage and I chose Public Storage on Addicks Satsuma because I had stored here belore. The process doesn't take long at all when you fill out your information online and common sense should tell you that you shouldn't wait until you are paying movers by the hour to start your rental process. read more

After Harvey, I wanted to check my storage but lost my key. The guy working the counter said I would have to wait for management to come cut my lock. So I waited and each week I stopped in for an update on when the management was going to be in. Each week I was giving a different excuse. I was told that there was a list of people that wanted their locks cut, but management stopped in on their own discretion. Management never came. I eventually found my key 6 weeks later. We remove our items and closed out our account. The guy was very condescending and gave me the impression that he had no respect for women as if I should have been home cleaning, cooking, and pregnant. read more

First they lure you in with $1 first month and low rate. But when you get there they add a register fee, their lock priced in it's weight of silver, mandatory insurance no matter what you put in storage. $1 first month turns into well over $75. I have had my unit for a year and they have raised my monthly payment twice. 1st a $10 monthly increase, then a few months later a $20 monthly increase. When I asked, "why are you raising my monthly payments?" I was told, "we are allowed to raise it to whatever we want, it's in the contract you signed." I confess to not reading the multiple pages of legal jargon I wouldn't understand if I tried. The dusty storage unit is the same since I got it so why is the monthly payment going up. Did they add a window, a door, did you clean it? Nothings changed except the price in their favor. Public Storage is horrible and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I cannot believe I tolerated this place for a year. I am in the process of finding a new storage place. Pros: Tracie. She was always so nice, kind, helpful & always went above & beyond for us. She is by far the nicest & best person we dealt with in our almost 5 years of having a storage there. She's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. Cons: We had a climate control unit. It wasn't very cool, dark & mold on the ceiling. The rates are no longer competitive with other storage places. The lock was changed a few years ago to a built-in lock. Apparently, the person that was there at the time, did something with the keys to the new locks because they were nowhere to be found when we went to move out this weekend. So here's what happened. We arrived Friday morning, July 3rd at 9:30am with a Uhaul to get our stuff. Tracie looked everywhere & couldn't find any keys to the new locks so she put a call into the district manager to come drill the new lock out. Tracie said it may be 7-10 days to get the lock drilled out but she would do everything to get the DM to come that day to drill the lock out for us. So at this point, I'm worried & pissed we may not be able to get our stuff out that day & money wasted on Uhaul. DM returned Tracie ' s call 5 hours later & said he would come & drill the lock out for us. Because of Tracie, we were able to get our stuff out that day & money on Uhaul not wasted. The DM needs to go ahead & replace or rekey the locks that have keys missing so Tracie can put the new keys in people's file & not have to catch the heat & deal with pissed off people for something she didn't do. Of course, he'll raise the rates again to cover the cost of doing that. read more

First off, this place is in the middle of the hood. While it is gated, I wouldn't exactly call the security top notch. The people that work there are nice enough, but don't ever try to call five minutes before close - they won't be there. They also always take a one hour lunch and the place is closed during that hour. The manager lives on site, but I can't say that makes me feel better considering I've still seen police cars in the parking lot. The driveways are VERY narrow and it's impossible for a moving truck to get down them without having to ask the person working to unlock the side gate. This process takes FOREVER... and, at least in my case, I was paying the movers by the hour. There are many other public storage facilities in the area, but none as close to apartment row as this one. I assume that is how they stay open. If you only plan on being there a short while, this is a good place. If you want a long term unit, I would go to one of the privately owned places as they will be much cheaper. read more
