Everything has been good so far, except there is only one cart for moving your stored items. The problem is that when there are 5 or 6 people there moving their possessions in or out, the wait for a cart is extensive. I rented with Public Storage and had a very disappointing experience. My monthly rent kept changing with no clear explanation, and extra fees were added that did not make sense. Even after I scheduled my move-out and vacated the unit, I still received another bill. Customer service was not helpful in resolving the issue, and the billing process felt unfair and frustrating. Have raised my prices by 250% in a little over two years stay away. My cheaper options out there.

Appalling level of customer service. I reserved a unit with no issues and received instructions as well as a video showing what happens on move-in day, specifically that a security tag is placed on the outside that you simply rip off the door to gain access to the unit on day 1. I arrive at the unit (25 min drive from my home) and there is a thick zip tie locking the door. No security tag to rip off and no way to cut the thing off without scissors. I went to the office but no one was on site to help. I called customer service to explain there was no security tag and no way I could remove the zip tie without a tool and was told by the first gentleman that I had to remove the zip tie myself and promptly hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor and was told none would be available until the beginning of the week. My third call to customer service was to tell them I no longer needed or wanted the unit from them and expected a full refund for the appalling level of customer service and inability to access the unit. This company need to update their instructions and videos to accurately represent their current process and I would also suggest re-training customer service. My family has been using the storage center for several years. When we started our 5 x 10 unit was $59. This year alone it's gone up twice...now our small 5 x 10 unit is $160. For a business that does absolutely nothing except collect money this is crazy!Not only is it crazy but how can you even defend charging $160 for a 5' x 10' unit? Measure that out... See how small it is... $160. This is our last month there because the rate goes into effect May 1 and we were notified at the end of March. At a time when people are struggling to put food on the table and gas in their car, Public Storage wants to charge $160 for a 5' x 10' storage unit. I initially had a very good experience at this Public Storage. The ladies in the office are fine, the new facility and policies are incredibly awful. I rented a unit on a Friday. On Saturday my husband and I went in 2 very full vehicles. Some things you should know: There is ONE entrance into the new building. On the weekends, moving companies in their large trucks own it! They back up right to the door, roll out their ramps and stay for HOURS. You cannot get past their ramps. Period. They clog the halls by lining both sides with items they are moving in/out. The facility offers a few Moving carts and you guessed it, the movers grab up every last one. The women in the office monitor just inside the door of the building. They couldn't care less what is happening outside the doors. And, here's the best part! We had the unit for LESS THAN 24 hours. We never got into it. We couldn't. Out of the $58 I paid the day before, the only thing I was entitled to a refund of was the lock you HAVE to pay for. I was given $21.44. That's $36 they just keep! That includes $11 for insurance we had no chance of using!! Never again! read more

We rented a storage unit online. Then when we came down to fill it there was nothing but problems and even through they were "open" nobody was there or answers the phone. First our gate code didn't work. The "directions to your space" link takes you to a generic page with more info on paying then anything else. We called the nUmber since no one was at the office but no answer. We rented an indoor first floor unit but the indoor building doesn't even have a unit with the number we were given. If I could give no stars I would. I went there for the last 2 days trying to make a payment and no one was there. I went 5xs each day. The girl said she was on lunch but how was she on lunch from 10-5?? Don't get it. I kept running into other people dealing with the same issue. When I would call I'd be transferred a million times back and forth because no one can help. If hours are 9-5 I expect someone to be there to help, change the hours if no one is going to be there. This is the first and last time we will ever use Public Storage. We rented two spaces and paid a good amount of money to do it. While the front desk at this location was kind and helpful, our experience with the company as a whole was negative. We were given different information by the 1-800 number twice than what the local company gave us so they didn't communicate the same across the board. There was some confusion and we closed out on the 1st but instead of pro rating or trying to work something out, they charged us the whole month even though they said "they would consider pro rating and get back to us." We will never use Public Storage again due to the lack of communication and lack of customer service. read more

Do not use this storage facility it has roaches bad!!!!! So if you didn't come in with any you are leaving with some. This is disgusting!!!!I tried reaching out to the property management and no one returns your call at all. Even when you go to the office and express your issues they are so uninterested especially the lady that has a disability. My apologies for describing her that way but I don't know name. Her attitude is so disgusting and she claims that she is the property manager but you can't be acting like that. I asked her if you are the property manager why are you not returning my messages but can sit in the office doing nothing but you text on your phone. Very disappointed in the customer service from this establishment. I was charged for a month that I was told I wouldn't be charged for, then they said they would refund it to me since it was past two days it would have to be a check and then when I asked about it said I was no longer eligible for the refund due to the lock being left on but we bought the lock from them so I assumed we left it with them. I tried to contact cooperate and no response. I tried the online chat feature and everyone just kept ending chats. The manager at the Holly Springs location, Ashleigh, is the most unprofessional person that I have ever had to work with. When the elevators weren't working I went to the office where I encountered Ashleigh. I explained that my Mom, who is very sick and has cancer, needed to get clothes out of one of our three units on the third floor. I understand that there are sometimes issues with mechanics and although I was upset, I started to leave the office. She called me back and said, "What's wrong with you? Why can't you go get her stuff?" I explained that I didn't know what my Mom wanted and that she had get it herself. Ashleigh was very disrespectful and condescending when she said that there was nothing that she could do. Then she said that I had an attitude. She told me to get out of her office. As I was leaving, she yelled to never come back. I was in shock. I couldn't believe that an employee would talk to me like that. She then waved her hand at me and arrogantly said, Bye, bye! Bye, bye!" Ashleigh's behavior is inexcusable and extremely unprofessional. I am currently reaching out to corporate to let them know about the incident. Ashleigh very poorly represented the Public Storage corporation and it's to their detriment. Maybe she was just having a bad day, but as a customer with three units, I did not deserve to be treated so despicably. read more

*** Forced to move out - 30 days notice *** Location: 2881 Broad St, Holly Springs, NC 27540 - Customer of 2 years. Climate controlled 10x10. - Received an email on May 30 informing me that due to construction I will need to vacate my unit within a month, by Jun 30. They conveniently waited until the final day of the previous month to send this. - Visited this location's office. They were aware of a parking lot being removed, but had no idea that storage unit customers had received the move-out notification. - Left a voice mail for district manager, Matt V.E., asking for assistance. Matt calls back a few days later. Was not interested at all in keeping my business. Very matter of fact. He said that they'd let me know if another unit at their location became available. When asked, would not provide any incentive to relocate to another unit within their location, despite my having to spend all day moving a packed 10x10 for their benefit. No help moving boxes. No break on 1st month rent. I remained very friendly while attempting to navigate a surprisingly poor level of customer service. - My request to prorate the final month's rent was denied even though I obviously can't wait until the final day to move out. - Another unit at this same location became available a couple of weeks in to the final month. On principle, I chose to to take my business elsewhere despite knowing it would be additional effort. - Visited two other storage companies within a few miles of this location. I found that both companies' rent was 50% the cost of Public Storage, and they even offered incentives. Public Storage = $142 per month. Storage King = $59 per month (and first 3 months half price). After a UHaul rental and about 5 hours moving belongings in 90+ degree weather, I'm now in a much better place. Overall, a very disappointing experience that could have been handled much better by Public Storage. read more
