Super shady. DO NOT RENT FROM PUBLIC STRAGE!!! This is my first time ever leaving a review for anything...ever. My rent has gone from $120-$243. Do NOT get a storage unit at ANY PUBLIC STORAGE!!!!!I I'll repeat...Very shady with all of their "fine print" I busted my butt to get all of my stuff out of my storage unit yesterday the 1st of September. Thinking it would be prorated, because last time I moved my stuff out of one of their storage units, I then rented a bigger storage unit from them and they prorated it. I guess due to staying with their company. Had I done my research and read all of the other reviews I would have known how shady and the lack of customer service they had, I never would've stayed with them. This is at the corporate level. The property manager's hands are tied because of corporate. I just got off the phone with corporate and I'm in tears. I've always been a faithful renter and never late on my payments and they refused to accommodate me. I busted my butt to get everything out of my storage unit yesterday and they refused to do anything and will charge me for the entire month of September. Im soooo sad and upset. read more

Stay away from this storage place if you need extended use. They raise the rates on you all of the time for no specific reason. We have been there 18 months and our rate has went up almost $100 already per month. Also customer service is not good, the person running it is never there and doesnt respond to phone calls. read more

Wish I could give negative stars! I had my unit broken into, over $6,000 worth of power tools, cameras and golf balls stolen. They cut the lock off my unit and replaced it with another Public Storage lock...weird right? Property Manager showed no concern for the break in even after I told him that it appeared that other units had been broke into as well. After expressing to him my feelings about him not caring, he asked me to leave his office! Genius! Don't be fooled by the false exception that your property is safe with "locked gates", limited access hours and cameras (which by the way are not 100% coverage and run by a 3rd party)! Because it's not, gates are periodically left open and property is not monitored for thefts! In addition, when you do have issues, like mine. You can't get a hold of anyone to assist you. You leave messages for the Property Manager that don't get returned and are met with a locked office doors every time you are there in person (even with someone sitting in the office). And of course, always greeted with "what do you want"! They truly need to work on their Customer Service, Property Security and respect for their Customers. read more

I would not recommend Public Storage. Their customer service is horrible. I get overcharged each and every month. When I call to get it taken care of nobody can help. You sit on hold for 35 minutes and still nobody answers. read more

Unfortunately Public Storage is the cause of us finding another facility. In the span of three years our price has increased 122% from our introductory rate. I get that the intro rate was going to increase which it did by $10 after the first 4 mos. However, our last two increases which have been less than a year apart have been 43% and 34% respectively. IMO that's ridiculous. We're not receiving anything additional for that price; it's a storage space! We found a local facility where I can speak with the owner directly and who (along with his property manager) has indicated that his prices don't change once you have leased the space. It's clean and has climate controlled spaces. The location isn't as convenient but for the price difference and essentially what sounds like a price lock...I'm okay with that. read more

i wish I could give negative stars. I live overseas in France. The public storage app is not downloadable in Europe (data privacy certification). So, I called 3 times: left two messages that I was moving out and spoke once to a customer service representative and all was good. Everything clear that I was moving out on July 20th and paid up thru the 31st. Except I am now receiving PAST DUE notifications ! No one present on site while I moved out (Customer service said no one on site except by appointment and that I did not need an. appointment to move out). Honestly, I hate receiving past due notices when it's Public Storage's fault for not properly noting my departure. Shame on you!!! read more

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Do yourself a favor and avoid the headache of using this facility. We moved to Omaha and had our belongings stored here until we closed on our house. We hired movers on August 6th and arrived at the facility at 8:15 a.m. only to find that the gate was broken (and according to the corporate office which I also called, they knew this as it had been broken for a few days) but no one was on site to open it manually. Called the facility manager twice to let him know the situation and asked that he call back ASAP as we were paying the movers for the time they were waiting. He did give us that courtesy call back almost 5 hours later. The movers left after an hour of waiting and it cost me $195.00 which I have asked Public Storage to reimburse me for. They have refused. In the voicemail I received today from the facility manager, he said he spoke with his District Manager and, "there is nothing we can do for you". Yes there is, do the right thing. read more

This place uses a teaser low rate to get you in the storage unit and then raises the rate astronomically. Additionally, they will charge you extra if you do not have insurance but they do not tell you that when you rent the space. There is never anyone in the office. I moved out December 17, 2022 and they are trying to make me pay for the month of January. Take your business somewhere else. read more

Don't follow for their scheme of renting a discounted unit.... After you get moved in they raised their prices by 30 to 50%......warning !!!! I called and asked to hold my rate for 2 months until I can at least move out and the lady told me I always have the option to leave... We have an extra car stored in Public Storage located 18910 Bedford Ave, Elkhorn, Nebraska. Love the space, but this is the 3rd time we have been up there today to get our car out. Both auto gates are not working and are off line. The office shows open, but there isn't anyone around and you can't get a real person to talk to you on the phone or online. Our other car is in the shop and we had to borrow our son's car to get to work. This is the 2nd time in two weeks that we haven't been able to get into the space. There was also another person waiting to get into the storage too. He said the same thing! read more

I would. Not recommend Public Storage, their rental rates go up a lot. I started at around.$80.00 per month.. it had gone up to $179.00 per month. I'm moving my items out and went ti schedule a move out date. And see it is now $220.00.. no notice. I have been slowly moving my items out and each time wanted to talk to someone about closing my account. The hours the office are clearly posted on the door. No one was ever there.. expect when I was moving stuff and only to check up on what we were doing.. never even spoke to us. Expect to tell my son not to run. I had a voice-mail stating to call as soon as possible regarding my unit.. I call and of course no answer.. left a voice mail to close this unit and possibly get a smaller one.. there is no way I would re rent from them. Not only do they charge a crazy amount.. they can't even man their office or have the on property dumpster emptied. We have to take our trash to the dump and pay to get rid of it. Not impressed.. very poor customer service. read more

Manager Craig is rude, less than helpful, and putting it nicely, doesn't like to actually do his job. We rented a unit and then realized we needed a larger one or a second unit so we got onto the app and rented a second space. The gate code for that inside unit didn't work, and ultimately both codes to enter for BOTH units were deactivated. I left three messages for him to call me back because this was after hours and it wasn't until I threatened to call the police or our attorney that he returned my call and only proceeded to call me a liar that the code we had been given and were using prior to the second unit being rented was not the correct code! When I advised him that I was demanding that three days of my rental be reimbursed to me since we did not have access to our storage units for that amount of time he became very agitated very rude and short with me and I finally hung up on him to keep from the call continuing to escalate.So because of his lack of knowledge and customer service skills and willingness to figure out what was wrong, we had to move all our belongings from his location and to the Bedford avenue location. The staff there are amazing by the way! read more

We have had a great experience so far!! The move in process was very easy. We had carts available to use and we got a prompt refund when we brought in our own lock to use. We also got our first month free and the price monthly seems very reasonable. The space is clean and easy enough to access. We are very happy we rented the space! read more

The app is very efficient and reliable. The facility is new, clean and the footprint makes it easy to access the storage unit. I have a third floor unit. The elevator is fast; dollies are available. Parking near the elevator is very convenient. When there is a staff person at the desk they are more than helpful in any way. Very understanding, especially Kirsten. I am unhappy that they convinced me to take the biggest unit they had because the rate was only 109.00 a month I have only been there for 4 months and I got a notification that they are raising my rates to 137.00 plus charging me a 15.00 charge for insurance. I am not happy that I am paying a insurance charge either. This is a scam. Extremely unsatisfied customer. I would have never taken this huge unit had I known that they were going to up the price on me once the demand was higher for units. I think it's pretty crappy that they take advantage of people once the storage facility starts to feel up. read more

They can, and will, raise your rental rate at any time. Mine went up 24% just 6 months into my contract. Otherwise it's a decent space. The carts are a little rougher these days and there seems to be more trash in the loading zone. All in all, it was nicer as Extra Space Storage. read more

My wife and I went to put some stuff in our unit and the office was locked hours after they had opened. It took us 30 minutes to find our unit since no one was there to help. After we got our stuff, we had our own lock and needed to return the lock they gave us. There was no where to return it. We called and left a message and six hours later someone called us back and told us to go back and put our lock in front of our unit. I went back and took the stairs since it was much closer to our unit and when I got to the floor of our unit it was locked. I tried to go back downstairs to the door I came into and it was locked. The emergency exit door was locked too. I was trapped for twenty minutes until my wife drove down to help me out. I am furious with this company and their lack of staff to help out their customers. Not to mention their illegal emergency exit conduct. If you do rent here, NEVER USE THE STAIRS BECAUSE YOU WILL GET TRAPPED read more

Yes, they lure you in with low rates then raise them after awhile. But, even after 3 years I was paying 25% less than what I would be paying at another storage facility. Moved out because they (Public Storage) opened a location closer to our house. read more

I just moved from an outside Public Storage facility to this new one in La Vista, NE that is completely indoors and at a lower rate. Tom was super helpful and pleasant to work with. read more
