I moved my things to this storage and paid on it for over six years$85 per month. When I went to move my things into a home 2/3 of my items were gone!!! Including my dining room table. The corrugated metal walls do not go all the way to the ceiling leaving a gap between the steel girders to the ceiling. Large enough for an adult and many of my boxes to be passed over the top of my storage bin into a hallway between all the storage units. The woman at the desk laughed at me and said do you know how much you have paid in the last 6+ years you have had this storage? She said over $7000.00 then she said I doubt you had anything worth seven grand in there. Well she was partially right when I started packing my things that were floor to ceiling high halfway back the back end was empty lamps dishes electronics artwork anything that could fit through a 3X4 opening. Most of my things were packed in paper boxes and fit nicely through the opening. RENTERS BEWARE. I wouldn't have given any stars but it wasn't an option. Swept the place out real nice too and never got my $15 deposit for cleaning it better than when I moved my belongings in! Swept it real nice and was not compensated

Two months later I found my unit had been broken into and most of my valuable items were stolen. The burglars were able to cut off my lock and go through every tote and box in my storage unit undetected. My unit was in a climate controlled building and found out later that both cameras in my building did not work. Other units were broken into as well. It has been three months now and the Insurance agent is trying everything in their power to not pay my claim. Burglars stole all my Christmas gifts that were brand new and I had to try to replace, all my products that I use for my job and items that were given to me after my mothers recent passing. This entire experience has been stressful beyond belief! Be careful if you store your things here and make sure you take video and photos of all your belongings in case of theft. I wish I had. I never thought that I would have to worry about theft in a gated place with cameras all over the place. Ben had walked me through the easiest method of payment processing and assisted when I had an issue with the gate opening(my error on the app). When I reached out to let them know my last day of usage, DJ seamlessly took care of the final invoice and received the confirmation email swiftly upon our conversation. Their attitude, patience and knowledge made this storage experience a template by which all business personnel facing customers should mimic. Without doubt, the next time I am in need of a storage unit, the 144th st location will be my go-to.
