I scheduled the pick-up of a kitchen table, table extension, 4 caster chairs and a pole lamp. When they arrived to pick everything up, I was told they couldn't give me a price until the items were loaded, because they priced jobs according to how much room the items took up. IE- 1/4 of the truck, 1/8 of the truck etc. They claimed my load took up 1/4 of the truck for a cost of over $300. THEN, they forgot to take the table extension and it took me an additional 2 days and 5 phone calls to get the item picked up. Their prices are absolutely ridiculously high and the customer service is seriously lacking. Other similar services are available in the area that I will be using in the future. read more

I had called these people a few days before they came and I was quoted $59, all I had was a mattress request to be removed, took them 8 min to get that from the house to the dump truck . . So after they were done they show me a $79 dollar charge for that plus they had nerve to shove the tip request in my face more than once, so we had words and I was not about to pay $79 dollars , then the light skinned one started talking Bs , trying to tell me that promotion was over, he contradicted himself more than once, so he took 15 dollars off, then I had to remind him I was not his employer and I was not tipping for the small amount of work they did, and told them that job was only a step job, if they want to make $30 an hour , go back to school and learn a trade that drunk monkey couldn't do . . Excellent service from initial call through completion! They were very quick and professional and did an excellent job. We needed a few items picked up/junked as soon as possible, and 1-800-GOT-JUNK had the quickest pick up time (early the following morning, when other places quoted us a three-day pickup time). Our items were a couch frame (cushions taken off so very light wood) and a bottom half of a recliner (so that piece was pretty heavy with all the recliner mechanics in it). I wasn't too sure about the "quotation upon arrival" bit, thinking this may leave me open to being price gouged, but that did not happen at all! I had a few local folks quote me $100 per item (so $200 total). 1-800-GOT-JUNK did the job for just over $100 total! When they got here, the truck driver told us it was $368 then immediately dropped to $268 when my husband questioned it. Then the driver told me it would be $119 for only a small Walmart type bookcase. Forget it. Don't waste your time. Unethical and shady. These people are very professional and efficient. I actually initially requested a quote right here on Yelp and someone from the Junk team got back to me the same day. We hopped on the phone and set up a date for a couple guys to come clear out an apartment. The communication was excellent. And they showed up when they promised they would. It took them about two hours and a truck-and-a-half to clear everything out, which was too much for me to do on my own, as the apartment was on the fourth floor in an old building with no elevator. Needless to say the Junk guys got a workout! There might be cheaper junk removal options out there, but 1-800-GOT-JUNK got the job done and were super easy to work with. I didnt think I'd find people who'd be this pleasant. Summer is particularly rough time to get stuff done around the house. Roofers, gardeners, electricians and handymen refuse to take your calls and when they do, they refuse to show up. How disappointing it was to be told our total would be around $250-$500 to remove about 15-20 trash cans full of gardening lava rock, dirt and some deck debris. Keep in mind that the deck debris was the flooring of a 12x12 foot deck, so not too much. The amount of of this debris could have easily fit in two full sized pick up trucks. Much to our chagrin, we were charged $1,076 and what's worse, the didn't even get it all and then we were told they would need to come back the next day to remove the rest. Mind you the rest is less then 5-6 trash cans full of dirt and lava rock, and they told us it would be another $1,000 or more. read more

This company is a total rip-off! I was told over the phone that the price would be around $100.00 for about a pick up truck size load. When they got here they said it would be around $300.00 I said ok but not to exceed $300.00. I wrote out a check for said amount but informed me it was now $354.00 but took my check and left. When I checked my bank account I discovered they manipulated the check to reflect their charge even though my check was clearly written for $300.00! Awesome experience! Great customer service when scheduling. The chick gave me $10 off when I set up the pick-up appointment. Dudes called when they were about a half hour away and arrived on time. The 2 were super nice guys. Came back and looked and the monstrosity I needed broken down and hauled off (a dog house built for a zombie apocalypse by the previous home owners). Had it broken down, loaded up, and cleaned up after themselves in about 45 minutes. Price was exactly as quoted ($99 + $10 off coupon). The other company I contacted, said minimum would be $150.
