This place is the worst. My brand new 2026 Imagine camper was hit while being stored. I contacted the propoerty manger to review the footage of the cameras that are pointing at my camper. Nearly 2 months and nothing has been resolved. In fact, Public storage stopped communicating with me all together. Do Not go there. The place is a dump with old broken donw campers boats and cars. Not to mention that no one ever answers the phone. You are better to go elsewhere! read more

I moved out of my unit 2023 at this facility several months ago. The property knew that I moved out, yet they continue to charge me. Several days ago, I drove to the facility during the middle of the day to see if I could solve the problem. There was no employee present on site. I called and left a detailed voicemail asking them to stop charging me, but I got no return call and the charges keep coming. I get a monthly email telling me what the new billing is, but when you follow the link to the website, good luck finding the "cancel" button. Completely ridiculous. I'm a class action attorney looking into whether this is a systemic overbilling problem by this company. read more

BEWARE! After 6 months it is "policy" To raise your rates by 50%. They will tell you your on a month to month lease and your rates are subject to change at anytime. My monthly rental went from 180 to 250. When I questioned the company the rep told me its standard procedure to raise rates after 6 months even though the advertised rates are the still the same. Once I complained, they sent me an email saying they will lower my rate back to what they were, for the next 3 months then I assume they will simply raise the rates again. They know if they told you UPFRONT they will raise their rates 50% after 6months nobody would sign up. Too many other storage units around to deal with that bait and switch tactics when they are "standard procedure" as the employee told me. Hope this helps inform people, they got an extra 2 months up charge on me and obviously don't prorate the month if you leave early. Reserved a unit online at this location on April 11, 2024. They don't allow you to decline their lock, so when I arrived, I was just going to go to the office and return the lock for my refund at that time. I arrived there around 2:30pm and there was not a single human being on site. All office doors were locked and the lights were off. I called the customer service line for the location and received an automated message. I was able to get through to the general Public Storage line and spoke to a representative who apologized and said that while there should always be someone onsite, the property manager was "probably at another location." First red flag. I have been back three times since during business hours and only one of those times was I able to find someone in the office...however, the one time I spoke to someone on site, they were unable to accept the lock and refund my money because they weren't an employee of that location and couldn't get into the system for some reason. At that time, I asked them to cancel my insurance as I had looked into my renter's insurance policy and found that it covered my storage unit as well. I was told that it would be cancelled. I received my next bill and the insurance was still included. After looking into removing it online myself, I noticed that the cancellation would not take effect until my next billing period, and I would still be charged for the insurance this month. Since I had already cancelled and was told that I would not be charged, I tried chatting with a representative to see if they could assist with removing the fee. I explained twice to the chat representative what I had already done, and they told me that they would not be able to remove the fee regardless. All around poor service. read more

I have been trying for 14 days to arrange to have the lock removed from my unit. I have moved out of state but my daughter is local and on the account. I was required to go to a Public Storage here in Florida to sign a release. The closest Public storage is 45 minutes away. Now after two weeks they claim not to have received it and will not provide me an email address so that I can resend the original documents. The customer service department is a joke. They don't make any effort to help you. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Before we rented and during the rental process the property managers were very responsive and helpful. Once we rented the unit, we have, for different reasons, needed to contact them. I've left numerous messages, none of which have been answered. I also left a message for the supervisors from customer service and no response. On all of the automated records, Public Storage says they care about our business. Their inaction and ignoring gives a different picture. read more

My first experience was not good. It's a nice facility, they are handy with the dollys on hand but the loading area is where it's I inconvenient. The entrance garage door opens but the exit garage is broken and has been for days without an attempt to fix or even a notification of when it will be fixed. I pulled in to unload and someone pulled in behind me and in order for us to exit the person behind me had to back out, go outside to input the code for the garage to open and then back out and they re entered after. When I left someone else pulled in and I'm sure they had to go through the same thing again. Such an inconvenience for what they charged. read more

The overall experience with Public Storage in Commerce, MI was excellent. The Staff was extremely helpful with explaining all relevant information regarding my Rental and also assisted with completing the process/transaction online via their Website, which provided discounted pricing and a Free 1st Month of the rental expenses. With regard to pricing, I found the rental prices to be very affordable. I personally hadn't rented a storage unit in over 15 years and am actually paying less than I had long ago. The new facility is great, easily accessed via the Public Storage App, and the building allows for covered parking during loading/unloading. Would highly reccomend to anyone in the area in need of off-site storage. read more

Clean units, and the climate control is nice. The gates are always broken though. However, it definitely does not lay out in the contract that the gate access closing time, also means the company will trap you in the building as well and hold your vehicle hostage. They have no way to remote open the gate so you literally have to call the police to leave. Wish they would have been more clear about that, but as long as you absolutely don't lose track of time and get out of there before 9, it's a decent place but terribly expensive as they raise the rates every few months. read more
