I have a storage unit in the public storage in Farmingdale on 110 the smaller one they have 3 , 2 larger I'm in the smaller one. Since I've moved in I've had nothing but trouble with the locks and they wouldn't help me at all!! Cost me a fortune on a locksmith and now I'm back in same situation they say call a locksmith!! They have no one on site to even come and check out your unit for the problem!!!! All they say is call a locksmith!!! I had to file a extension on my taxes because I needed important documents in my storage unit and they said can't help call locksmith!! AGAIN THEY'RE ALL TIME ANSWER FOR EVERYTHING!! I'm still not in the unit !! I'm working on getting the hell out of there!! If you don't care about your valuables or treasures or customer service go ahead and rent there!! Rented a unit online with first month free, good deal. Then rented a few more months for my business. Place is safe , well guarded and really clean. Also read some of the crazy reviews of this place and it seems some of you people never been to a storage unit before , I actually read some guy was annoyed cause they didn't have coffee ! Just got a unit for an in between move. Angie was so helpful and went over everything. She even went out into the rain with me to make sure everything was ok for my first trip to the unit! I would never use public storage again. I took my belongs out on the 4th of the month and they made me pay the full amount. Did not pro rate it. Called up and didn't even take a penny off. Raised my rent within a couple of months. Went from $80 to $120. My advice is to use another place. Do Not use public storage. read more

Friendly staff; good rates; easy access. The day we moved our stuff in, though, another customer told us their unit had been broken into. This gave us pause but, as we didn't have anything too valuable, we ended up leaving our stuff anyway and didn't have any problem. (They also make you purchase insurance to cover that risk.) We only had to use the unit for a little over a month, so --with the 1st month discount and ability to pro-rate the month for up to six days -- it was very affordable. Very clean facility. The staff is phenomenal!! They make rounds about the facility on multiple occasions. I understand it's their job to do, what I am trying to express is they actually do what they are supposed to do. Very safe environment. I was recently looking for a storage unit to rent temporarily while my home was remodeled. The young man who assisted me, I believe his name was Abraham was very helpful and knowledgable. He answered all my questions regarding my inquiries. He showed me all different sizes of units and explained to me which unit suited me and my belongings best. He was thoughtful by suggesting I purchase any materiels needed for packing, boxes, wraps, tape, etc. it was a pleasure to have this young man help me and I would highly recommend your storage facility to others. It was a pleasure to have his help. Other places I inquired about were just so quick to get my business, take my money and not answer any questions I had. Ok so it's mixed wound up renting a 10x 25x it was supposed to be brief. Angie was the one who originally helped us rent our unit and also greeted us b4 our move she is great positive and upbeat. But things definitely didn't go as planned and the only thing I can say is yes it's safe there but the outside units even w/ anything you can think the mold and mildew was ridiculous but as I said first time w/ a storage so it's all new but I will never again deal w/ this company I had called because as I had read from another reviewer had that increase that I had totally forgotten about and had called to speak to Angie but on the phone you don't get as much help if your in person but was given a # for a Mathew Forman (516)----54- not gonna put the full business but very irresponsible owner boss whom ever he was not even any call back they don't care about renters unless your right there it's no help and didn't realize if you pay your bill there's NO TYPE of any reimbursement so just under 400 they got there payment as always and no complaints but nothing ever back they will not return phone calls help out or have any care in the world so I personally for a first time renter would for there customers who rent I would not recommend this place too high of prices that sound good when they pull you in but it's lies read the fine prints set reminders or just find a better spot as I said Angie's nice and the stuffs safe that's the only positive read more

Disgusting facility and no customer service. (aside from Danielle) We have had a unit for two years now and there is constantly cat poop everywhere in which the employees never clean up because they are too busy texting or making personal phone calls on the company phone, there have been many units, including ours, that have had repairs needed (ie insulation was broken open since we've been there and when we reported a month and a half ago our broken door they said, "this is corporate, they don't care. We can report it but probably nothing will happen" in which it is still broken), the front "security gate" was in need of repair and remained opened for 3-4 months....I thought part of what we paid for was security....terrible experience. read more

This location could not be any worse. UNLESS YOU WANT TO RISK HAVING YOUR THINGS STOLEN, DON'T COME HERE. When I reserved the unit I admit the price was good. Now I know why.... Just recently I was a victim to a Burglary at the location. They stole very valuable items from me and family and kids are devastated. When I reported it to the woman working at the facility she literally could not care less. She just told me to call the police and ignored me. It took everything in me not to scream because her attitude could not be any worse. I then called 911 and when the police arrived they told me the truth about how Public Storage Bay Shore operates. They mentioned that the location was constantly experiencing thefts. They also mentioned that the same exact thing happened a week and a half prior and earlier a month before that. They explained that the facility does not cooperate with police when they attempt to investigate the crimes. The police also described how the crime occurs. The pull down gates are easily pushed in and off the tracks. This allows the criminals to get in the unit without breaking locks. They then put the door back on the tracks and you would never know they were in. Public Storage Bay Shore has no interest in the security of your property. If you doubt what I say just call the Suffolk County Police Department. read more
