Public service plumbers fails to deliver in every avenue and I cannot recommend AGAINST USING THEM ENOUGH. We paid $16,000 for a new AC unit for it to break within 2 months. The first technician said the only explanation for this would be a faulty unit or improper installation. We have been without AC for over 72 hours. They have rescheduled our service 4 times. They are now refusing to respond to calls. Any attempts to escalate to a supervisor or a manager have been unsuccessful (they place a "message" and you have to wait for them to call you back). I have never been so disappointed in a company. My only recommendation is to NEVER get involved with them. Oh you also can't cancel your membership until they call you back at their convenience. Still waiting... in our house that is current 87 degrees with our 2 year old and 8.5 pregnant. Absolutely disgraceful company. read more

The technician and plumbing work completed was good. However the company is desperate for more money. I tried to cancel my service contract twice and I was still charged. Any company this desperate is not providing any type of meaningful service or product. I receive calls at the time when I am at work to schedule an inspection. He fixed the issues and didn't have to cut into our new tiles on the shower wall which I'm thankful for because we just renovated. In short, we used to love Public Service Plumbers, now we don't as much. The premium service wasn't really worth it. The work is good, and their plumbers were always super friendly. We used Public Service Plumbers and even subscribed to their premium service due to our home's age. Unfortunately, there was a time where they left us stranded, even with this premium service. The pricing was pretty high for most projects, even simple ones. However, their work is very good! If you have a disaster like we did, they'll work with insurance and ensure city code and permits are proper. One of their plumbers recommended an awful water damage company that was different than the one the company recommends and cost us a bunch of money, time and stress. When I called to discuss this with the company, they blew me off. Don't hire American Water Damage if a plumber recommends them. read more

FRAUD!!! This company is now part of Willard and, in our case, sent out a third party electrician from a company we had never heard of. Every aspect of his wiring has been faulty. He was supposed to deactivate wiring in one room for the painter, but days later the painter almost electrocuted himself due to the wiring still being live. The chandelier box the electrician installed, turned out to have no actual live wires connected to it so we had to pay another electric company to do what Public Service charged for "installation." In total the bill was almost $1,500, and we've paid over $2,000 more to have this work actually done. What a fraudulent horrible company! The conglomerate as a whole runs each of these sister companies very poorly, and the fact they get third party contractors, from other companies whose reputation consumers can't even research, is terrible. You don't even know who's actually in your home. In our case the man had an overall bad attitude. He seemed unwilling to want to do the work, and as it turns out, he actually didn't do any work. After countless complaints the company refuses to stand by their "work." I would avoid this and all Willard affiliates not to mention any other company that has recently been bought and lumped together with other companies. Chances are they will be just as poorly run as this group of unprofessionals. read more

Public Service Plumbers are certified and BBB approved. Clint came over to install shower fixtures. He arrived on time, was friendly and professional. He covered the area he was working in and laid out everything precisely. The next week, Clint and Aaron came over to install a new hot water heater. They were also on time, friendly and very professional. They worked very hard all day, didn't ask for anything, covered the floors and were extremely courteous. Highly recommended!!! read more

Taylor and Troy came out this morning early when hot water heater ruptured. They stayed with it all day and dealt with a townhouse that was built in the seventies, addressed water damage and replaced the hot water heater. They were so polite and kind, answering all our questions, explaining multiple options and then explaining the work they were doing. They tested and cleaned up everything before leaving after 12 hours on site. I totally trust Taylor and Troy and recommend them to problem solve your plumbing issues. A.J. and Josh were real nice guys. Plumbing is just crazy expensive. Started out with $99 and a free camera inspection. $895 later they ran a snake through the roof inlet and it appears my problem is fixed, for now. The next level needed to correct the problem, long term, is $6300 and a complete redo on the cast iron pipe system is $32,000 with a 10 year warranty. I will get at least 1 or 2 other estimates before making my decision. read more

On Saturday night, a pipe that was carrying condensation from an air conditioner in the attic disconnected and start pouring out lots of water into my attic and the floor below it. I called Public Service and Nate arrived to fix the problem within about an hour of my call to them. Despite the fact that it was Saturday night and Nate probably would have preferred to be doing something else, he was proficient, professional, and pleasant. He even got another company to call me that night to set up an appointment to get the damage done by the leak mitigated. I've been doing business with Public Service Plumbers for over 40 years and Nate is another great plumber in their employ. read more

I called Public Service Plumbers to unclog my bathroom sink, to fix a leaky kitchen sink hose and replace a toilet valve. First they wanted to check all of my water heaters, all my toilets and more. I told them I didn't have that much time and to do the 3 things I had them out for. They go out to their truck for awhile and come back and quote me $1200.00 for redoing the toilets, fixing the sink hose and unclogging my sink. I ask for the basic service which they quoted at. $600.00. I said Thankyou, wrotevthen a check for the $89.00 service fee. I then went on YouTube and figured out how to fix it myself. I spent about $70.00 to get everything fixed. My husband and I saved ourselves abt $500.00. just because I have a descent house and I'm a woman doesn't mean I'm stupid. They have been crossed off my list of good plumbers. read more

I recommend finding a different plumber. I called Public Service Plumbers to come light a pilot light. I had to schedule them at the same time as the gas company and the gas company was about 15 minutes behind, so the plumber left. That's somewhat understandable, still aggravating. What has me upset is that they charged me $89 for the service fee, which I paid, then came back and knocked on my door saying the payment didn't go through. The plumber was wrong and I paid twice. $180 for nothing, and the company is giving me the run around and are acting like they won't reimburse me. 1/10 business, save the headache and use somebody else. read more

We called Public Service Plumbers yesterday because we had a clogged shower and kitchen sink. They unclogged the shower and while unclogging the kitchen sink, they broke a pipe. Water began coming out of the wall into the living room floor and all over the kitchen floor. The plumber said the pipe was old and it was not his fault. We called their office and spoke to the office manager but he was not helpful and sided with the plumber without looking at the pipe first. He said they could send someone to fix it for $800 - $900. Since then two different professionals have come look at the pipe and they both said the drain snake the plumber used was too big and the pipe had not broken if they had used the proper equipment. Now I'm out more than $1000, and it looks like I have water damage on my floors. read more

When they arrived they quoted me a price almost THREE TIMES what had been 2-1/2 years ago. The team came out for an emergency repair on a complicated lift station connected to our commercial grease trap. Troy could not have been more helpful and clear with what went wrong, how it could be fixed, and a good plan going forward. Gas tankless water heater stopped working. Charged 700 dollars for "diagnostics" that took 30 minutes. Said it was "either they blower or the controller board" they could replace both for an additional 2,000 dollars but could not gaurantee it would work. Offered to replace for 10,000 dollars with a 5 year warranty. These units are available new at home depot for 999. Avoid this company like the plague. read more

So glad I found this company on Yelp! The men that came to the house were great! Very nice, professional, answered all of my questions, and best of all- fixed the problem!!! After taking off work for the afternoon to meet a different plumbing company, I was told they did not have the ability to fix our clogged kitchen sink. I would need to find a company that was able to climb on the roof and enter the pipes through the vent because the clog was too deep in the pipe for ground maintenance. I called around and the earliest any company could send someone out would be tomorrow afternoon. I understand that isn't very long, but not ideal since I already took vacation time for one plumber and we are running out of frozen dinners (no kitchen sink equals no ability to wash dishes)! I called Public Service Plumbers around 1:00 pm and they were here by 3:00 pm. The woman I spoke with when I called fit me in same day and was incredibly kind on the phone! They came out to install a drain for my bathroom sink. It took 45 minutes and cost me $185 ($45 in parts). What I didn't like is how they nickle and dime their customers. $2.00 for putty, $3.00 for a washer, and $3.50 for a towel. I've used Public Service Plumbers several times over the years. They've done excellent work. They are very expensive (expect to pay almost double), but there are so many shady contractors out there that I've learned to pay more for good ones. Pros: Good work, they always solve the problem, can get them out on short notice, after hours service Cons: Expensive, they've showed up late on more than occasion, some plumbers were nice - others were a little rude, they insist on having a plumber and a "helper" on every job, so you're paying for 2 people Overall I would not hesitate to use them again. read more

Warning! Customer service is extremely poor. I encountered a rude, aggressive, and unprofessional office employee after a 'no show-no call.' Public Service Plumbers canceled my appointment due to the Feb. storm in 2021. I understood and had no problem with that wise decision. The next week, no one called to reschedule the canceled appointment. So, I called to schedule a new appointment. On the day of the appointment, 'no show- no call.' This ghost appointment wasted an entire afternoon of my time. This company does not value customers. Wrong attitude and significantly below proper business practices. read more

They did not show up to the appointment, instead they called to find out the model of my water pump so that they can order a new one. They didn't even diagnose it to see if it needed to replaced. I called 2 more times asking about the new water pump and they couldn't give me an answer. Haven't heard back from them. The technicians were rude, inattentive, and unprofessional and this was a surprise to me because I had used Public Service Plumbers before and expected a lot more. The plumber didn't want to be bothered with details. With each question I asked, he was put out and exasperated. I could feel it going wrong, so I called the manager and he apologized to me over the phone, but asked me to trust the guy "because he knows what he is doing." I trusted and got burned - they installed the job with some strange plastic material vs. metal. Some of the pipes were red plastic and some blue plastic and it looked terrible. The plumber waltzed out at the end of the day and said the office would bill me. The job was completed in July and I didn't hear from them until December. Not at all satisfied. read more

Called to confirm after the first hour in and all seemed well. Called again 10 minutes before the close of the 3-hr window (since I did not hear back) and was only then told that their tech was running late. I had already factored in about an hour of work (simple faucet replacement) even if he did arrive at the last minute but I wasn't going to stay around all day for this. Beware of this plumbing company. It took them 4 appointments, which we are charged for every time, to fix a shower faucet. They did not show up when they said they would and one day, not at all. They charged almost twice as much for parts that we could have ordered on line, retail. They told us the part was half of what they charged and then said "they mark up 30% so they can give a one year warranty." Seriously, I would not use this company ever! read more

THIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. I am a landlord and made an appointment for them to unclog a shower drain. I gave the plumber the tenants phone number to set up the appointment, since the tenant occupies the property. The drain gets unclogged and I received an invoice for $514.64! Much to my surprise, this was a lot more than I was expecting to pay for unclogging a shower drain. I was communicating with the plumber, Wayne Vaughan through email, and I said that the invoice amount was never authorized by me and I never gave permission to complete this job, so I said I wasn't going to pay for it. The plumber, Wayne Vaughan said the tenant approved the job. I told him that the tenant was not paying for it, so he had no right to give approval nor did Wayne have the right to move forward with the job with just his approval. (I admit, that saying I wasn't going to pay wasn't the right thing to do). Instead of picking up the phone to explain and resolve the issue, Wayne Vaughan proceeds to call my boss, to a job that is COMPLETELY UNRELATED to my job as a landlord, and tells my boss that he is going to put a lien on the property because I won't pay the invoice, and continues to bad mouth me to my boss. My boss calls me to let me know and I call Wayne. Wayne never once called me to resolve this issue and thought is was a good idea to look me up on google and see who I worked for. He not only embarrassed me with my boss, but also shouted at me on the phone when I called him to resolve the issue. I paid the Invoice after a $80 reduction, because I felt like it had already caused more trouble than it was worth. I have never dealt with this kind of unprofessionalism in my life. I admit that I didn't initially handle the situation great, but there are many more steps that could've have been taken to resolve this matter professionally by Public Service Plumbers. read more

I had a nightmare of an experience with another company. Public Service Plumbers came and cleaned up the mess. They did a great job. I was super impressed with Public Service Plumber's attention to detail. For example, when remounting the toilet they installed toilet shims, sawed the shims to size, and then secured the shims with clear caulking. They did a huge job on my home and I fully intend on using this company moving forwards. read more
